I just got back from Walmart after reading this thread. I took back the 5120 and they had 2 left of the 5130 so picked it up. This was to be for a family gift with a subscription for a year to netflix, but now I am thinking since we are all home until Tuesday(kids go back to school) maybe I should open it up and make sure it works. I do have an N router so I think will try it out with a trial membership to netflix. I will then give the gift certificate for a year to all on Xmas. Thanks everyone for letting me know about this.

My Walmart did not have the Western Digital external 500gb hard drive for $39.99. I waited around for over an hour wile they continued to look for it.

Thank you for getting back to me. I guess I will get the 2tb one from BB. Its for my kids for their school work, DS's school engineering projects, itunes, etc. His motherboard died on his laptop and his ipod broke so he lost all his itunes stuff so dont want that to happen again with his new computer.

I have another question. Looking at the 2TB Seagate external HD. I am wondering would I be able to back up more than 1 computer on this hard drive. DH and DD have laptops under 500GB each and DS I jsut ordered him the HP desktop package with the 1TB hard drive. I was just trying to figure out if I need1 this big or get 3 smaller ones, Thanks

Anyone know if the HP Desktop has wireless? I wanted it for my Son but not sure if it is wireless. The router is in my bedroom down the hall from him. Wonder if I have to get a wireless card for it, i f it does not or should I just get one of the other packages

LOL This Pennsylvanian will not be braving the elements outside like I usually do outside BB. I am going to Walmart on BF for the first time since 2002. I have been waiting for a cheap TV to put on my kitchen counter and I want that $98 Sansui. Plan on getting a lite vacumn and maybe the external hard drives and then going to BB in Rockaway to pick up my computers that I hope to order soon before I fall asleep and my failing laptop falls off my lap .

Oh that's ok. I would just use the blu ray to watch, especially when we are on long car trips. Now that I am usually buying blu rays instead of DVDs that would come in handy. Thanks for the answers.

I have been looking at the Samsung also. What do you mean when you say "play blu ray" Will there be a problem with going with it. I am looking for a laptop for basic stuff, email, surfing, pictures and I will be loading on a transcription program since I am going back to school for Medical Transcription and Billing & Coding. Thought the blu ray would be a little extra. I dont know how the Vaio Laptops are, I used to have a Vaio Desktop and it lasted me 7 years and then I gave it to my Nephew and he still uses it 3 years later. I liked the Samsung better than the HP and Toshiba listed in the Black Friday ad.

The way I see it working in my house when my DS has friends over is that say there are 2 of them both I see playing but only 1 can talk live with the other people they are playing with online. They other person is also playing, but it seems that only 1 can talk at a time. To have more than 1 subscription you would have to have 2 consoles. You will need another headset so both have headsets even though only 1 can talk at a time the other can still hear and he can talk just has to do it a little loader to be heard with the other headset, so make sure they have 2 headsets. I can ask my DS tonite when he comes home for more information, this is just what I have noticed when he has a friend over and they are playing online together (could also be that 1 headset is broken lol what do I know) I will post again tonite after I speak to him.

It is good for 1 account. With a family plan you can have as many as 4 accounts with the one subscription of $99/year. We only have 1 account here so only need the single subscription. We do have them all combined (I have bought 3 different 1 year subscriptions)so DS subscription will expire in March 2014.

Live subscription is needed to be able to access the Microsoft Marketplace and also to be able to play games against others, This is the way my DS plays most of the time online with friends he has made all over the US and also his friends at school.

Would love to try the OfficeMax ones but we dont have an Officemax within 2 hours from where I live, plus we have about $500 in BB gift cards to put towards a laptop.

I am looking at the HP i3 in the BB ad it says its 7200rpm ($499 on BF) there is also a Samsung on their website i3 with a blu ray that will work out to about $80 more that one says 5400rpm ($729-$150 on BF) . There is also a Toshiba ($449 on BF) Putting the links below. Can someone tell me which is a better one. I like the Samsung because of the blu ray. It will be for me. I surf, email, pictures write some word documents. I will be going back to school for Medical Transcriptionist/Billing & Coding so will eventually be doing a lot of typing. If none of these would work with the Transcriptions programs, once I am finished with school I can always get another computer dedicated to that. Unfortunately only DS plays the Xbox. DD has started playing a little now that there is Kinect.

Sorry in my original post did not mean that the only reason someone would order a Nook is because of being able to borrow from the library. The "U" was supposed to be "I" Its the only way I would buy an ereader. I read alot of the current bestsellers and that is where I would spend tons of money if I had to buy them.
