  1. TRU by me opened at Midnight last year. We left to get in line at 11 and it was all the way around the building! By the time we got inside, almost everything was gone. It was total chaos. Since there were 2 of us, one got in line and the other tried to shop. But when we got to where we could see the cashier, we were told we were in an electronics ONLY line and had to move. Talk about annoying. I will be avoiding TRU this year, that's for sure!
  2. Nothing much at the one closest to my house. Did get some halloween decorations for pennies. My big find was some computer games for $2.48. I got a chess game, and a couple other little things.
  3. I was at my local Walmart and the Halloweed stuff was 75% off! while that may not seem unusual, the quantity of stuff left was. I was able to pick up several things that are going to be Christmas gifts for someone that will be getting their first place this next year.
  4. Menards is the first Then on to the other ones For Black Friday Deals
  5. no board games this year? Anyone know if anyone has deals on board games this year?
  6. The WM I shopped at last year handed out maps as you walked in the door. That was a nice change from years past.
  7. I'm with you on that. I also WILL have one some day...drool, drool, drool But I don't know that this is the one I will buy. I'll have to look at it in person to make that decision.
  8. WOOHOO!!!! I've been soooo waiting for this one!
  9. I don't take a purse. It's too easy for someone to scam off with it. I have a clip for my keys...they go on the belt loop. Cash is limited to less than $5.00 & is in a closed coin purse. That goes in the front pocket, with my debit card. My cell phone also goes in a front pocket. The only thing I carry is my notebook that has the details of what, where, price, how many, & who it's for. The only other thing I make sure I have is a shirt pocket full of Hershey kisses. I pass a couple along to the very harried checkers or other workers that have helped me with something. It's amazing what that can do for specials! Or for items that someone has decided they don't want at the very end & winds up under the register.
  10. It depends on the store. At Menards, definitely! Usually their specials are large items & trying to grab boxes to hold everything is difficult. At WM, I try to. I work with my SIL & one of us is with the cart at all times. We leave coats in the car, purses at home & only bring a water bottle, cell phones & charge cards. The cards are much easier than trying to juggle cash. We don't take the paper with us, but we do transfer our shopping list to a small notebook (like a restaurant order form) to keep track of the impulse items, as well as our "needs". So much better than shopping alone!!!
  11. Hi everyone! I'm a single mom of 2--17 & 13. We live in Illinois, just north of Chicago. I discovered the site after BF last year, but then changed computers & lost all my links. I forgot about it until I got the reminder e-mail this week! I know I'm crazy, but the Christmas season is my absolute favorite time of year. I've got about 22 people on my list & love shopping for each of them. Sue
