I have been trying since 3 A.M. the sale has never went live.
Yesterday, the online sale went off without a hitch.
Went to the store about 45 minutes early and the line was only half way up the side of the building.
Got right in, was able to get all the items we wanted including tv's, and checked out without waiting in line.
Guess I am going to go to their store now as there are other stores to go to after their 5 A.M. opening.
And remember, your best buys are always at Fry's!

Thanks kanaida03! I would LOVE to go with the tablet but unfortunately the iPod is over my budget so the tablet is out of reach. The best price I have seen is $399. I am seeing the ipod 4th gen 32gb for around $275. Crossing my fingers that someone will offer a better deal soon. It seems the best option for me is layaway at Walmart .... however my Walmart is out of stock. I am struggling this year. This will basically be the only Christmas present we purchase, IF we are able to swing it. I fear we won't be able to and then Santa will be let out of the bag for sure

Thanks everyone! I have just now got the chance to get back online. Your suggestions have really helped, as I am clueless in the electronic age. I was the hoping 32 GB would be the max. I needed to consider. I think the 64 GB would be over the top. Now, I just need to find a deal on a 32 GB.

DD is planning to ask Santa for an iPod touch this year. She has been torn between the iPod touch or a laptop, but has opted for the iPod. I personally think the laptop would have been better, but maybe I am wrong. Not to mention I think both are a little much for a kid her age, but it seems everyone has them ... peer pressure already. At least she knows it is the only gift she will get. Since we have to pay the bill from Santa, we will have to put our money for a gift from us towards that
.For a pre-teen what amount of memory on the iPod would be sufficient? She wants to listen to music, play games and use Skype. She has limited access to FB (with parental supervision) so that would be another an app needed. I want to make sure the 8gb would be sufficient. In addition, can the memory be upgraded later if needed? Is it pricey? Am I better off to get the bigger memory up front?
For the songs, can you download any MP3 song? Or do they only take iTunes?
Any advice would be helpful. Maybe I should push her to the laptop? Hmmm, I don't know what to do. Thoughts anyone?

Ones that might not be compatible are gameboy games and the ds games that use the gameboy slot. The new DSi does not have that gameboy slot. I know that Guitar Hero and Band Hero for the DS use the gameboy slot and therefore cannot be used with the DSi. I am not aware of any others, but there may be others.
Ok, let me be dumb here ... how do I know if they game uses the gameboy slot ? Will each game specify something about it on the box ? Sorry, I am clueless here ... any help is greatly appreciated.

If you are hooking it up to a HDTV I would say yes!
Makes it HD Clear just make sure you put it in the HDMI port!!
I didnt do that the first time I set mine up....
The wii is a pain to set up imo...do it while the kids are sleeping and wrap the empty box LoL
Is there just one plug for the HDMI or do you have to use the colored connectors too ?
The reason I ask is that we just purchased an HDTV and it has several connections available on the back, but only one yellow. I wondered if I bought this HDMI cable if it would eliminate the need to plug in the yellow connection. If so, then I could leave the PS2@ hooked up as well.
As far as set up, it was so simple I could connect it. All I had to do was match the colors on the Wii connections to the back of the TV.

Kupon, almost all DS games should work fine with the DSi (currently in transit, I went for free shipping), so that's really not an issue.
My White should be getting here on the 4th. I got bit by the 1 limit thing and was a bit concerned since I needed 2 (the blue was sold out by then). I ended up going to Target and in the end it was actually a better deal as I was able to pick up another White for $169 with a $20 gift card and then another $10 gift card since I was spending > $100, so in the end it was a tad bit cheaper at Target even factoring in the tax. Plus there was no line at all (I got there around 10am) and there was a pile of them (blue and white). Either way I'm just happy I got the two with minimal hassle (needed to go to Target anyway), now just have to get ready to lay down the law with regards to how much time is spent playing the things :)
Thanks Wrangler. The reason I asked was that my husband swears he was looking at some DS games the other day at Walmart and one or two of them said they were not compatable with the DSi. I just didn't want to buy the wrong games online.

I am pretty sure I got the white one for my daughter .. I did the pre-order on Wednesday, and my email said it "should" ship today. I'll feel much better when I get the email stating it has actually shipped.
As far as games ... will all ds games work in the dsi ? If not, how do you distinguish the difference ? (This might have been posted elsewhere, if so I apologize in advance).

Both target and BB will have the DSi bundle with 5 games for $169 and you get a $20 gift card from that store
TRU will have it for $159 with 2 accessories
These will all be on BF. So far I only see it in 2 colors one of them being Blue
There are so many different threads on the Dsi ....

Don't you pay tax at TRU ?Toys R Us deal is $159 and comes with a sleeve and car adapter. I still pay tax on Amazon purchases - I think I'll be trying Toys R Us at midnight - convince me otherwise :)

I looked that one on Amazon and I like the bundle. I noticed there are cases for cards, skins, cleaners, etc. Tell me what I need to add to start with. (I've posted on another thread and may have answers there). I am green at this Dsi stuff.

I am planning to use this code tomorrow ... IF my daughter decides this is her big gift she is asking for. All of the American Girl stuff is "new" to me .. I know nothing about them. It just seems so pricey for a "doll". I would have thought they were more along the "collectible" line, but with all the accessories she wants to with the Just Like Me Doll, I would go broke. This is a tough decision in this economy, but she has had the doll in her sights for 6 months. I would rather get a laptop or a DSi, but I am not sure I can change her mind. She will be 8 soon, so even though she is a pretty good kid ... any of the above mentioned gifts (American Girl, DSi, laptop) are still a bit much for me at that age. I would rather spend more money on several smaller gifts ... ugh, what is a mom to do ??

I would like to get more opionions on the actual internet access from the DSi. Jerica, I was reading your review and it was very helpful.
My daughter is almost 8 and loves to play online games such as Disney channel, NickJr, etc. We have 2 laptops in our home to share with 3 people. So, I was considering getting a cheap laptop for her, but am not sure that isn't a gift to "big" for a 7 year old (if that makes sense).
A friend mentioned the DSi and explained that you can use the Wifi access in my home and she could get online that way. I figure with the price of games, etc. added to the DSi, it would still be more economical than the DSi.
I know I am rambling, but I hope I have conveyed what I am trying to get opinions on. Any advice will be greatly appreciate. (She started out 6 months ago asking for an American Girl doll. I think she is going to have to make up her mind soon, so I am trying to "help" her with the decison :)).

Tried to get the same one from Kmart (same advertised price) but would always show $79.99 in the cart.
Opted for the one from Kohl's . $79.99 then you get a $30 rebate. Had a 15% off coupon and free shipping. Also earned $10 Kohn'ls cash on this alone. It's too early to add up the bottom line, but I guess around $35. Then I linked to Kohl's via my Ebates account for 8% cash back. Not to mention Ebates has a $10 bonus if you spend at atleast $10 by clicking from their site. So that drops it down to roughly $25.
Kohl's also has the 250 tc sheet sets for $14.99. With the 15% off code they were showing in the cart at $12.74. Spent $50 on sheet sets, so that gets me another $10 in Kohl's cash. Got the 8% Ebates cash back.
So far these are the only things I consider a "steal". I was able to buy a digital frame online at Walmart yesterday.
So, now I've bought 4 presents and am still feeling kind of blue. Most of the things I had marked either won't appear properly in shopping carts online, or aren't even available online. And then there's the Walmart site performing maintenance ... go figure !

I purchased FOUR sets of the 250 tc sheet sets at $14.99 (including king) AND the portable DVD player. Total w/tax $113.66 (Free shipping since it was over $100 AND used the 15% off code). I've earned $20 in Kohl's cash, will need to send in for a $30 rebate, and I've earned 8% cash back on EBates.
Not counting Ebates, I will have 4 sets of sheets and a portable DVD player for $53.66 ... pretty good !
