Thanks kanaida03! I would LOVE to go with the tablet but unfortunately the iPod is over my budget so the tablet is out of reach. The best price I have seen is $399. I am seeing the ipod 4th gen 32gb for around $275. Crossing my fingers that someone will offer a better deal soon. It seems the best option for me is layaway at Walmart .... however my Walmart is out of stock. I am struggling this year. This will basically be the only Christmas present we purchase, IF we are able to swing it. I fear we won't be able to and then Santa will be let out of the bag for sure

Thanks everyone! I have just now got the chance to get back online. Your suggestions have really helped, as I am clueless in the electronic age. I was the hoping 32 GB would be the max. I needed to consider. I think the 64 GB would be over the top. Now, I just need to find a deal on a 32 GB.

DD is planning to ask Santa for an iPod touch this year. She has been torn between the iPod touch or a laptop, but has opted for the iPod. I personally think the laptop would have been better, but maybe I am wrong. Not to mention I think both are a little much for a kid her age, but it seems everyone has them ... peer pressure already. At least she knows it is the only gift she will get. Since we have to pay the bill from Santa, we will have to put our money for a gift from us towards that . For a pre-teen what amount of memory on the iPod would be sufficient? She wants to listen to music, play games and use Skype. She has limited access to FB (with parental supervision) so that would be another an app needed. I want to make sure the 8gb would be sufficient. In addition, can the memory be upgraded later if needed? Is it pricey? Am I better off to get the bigger memory up front? For the songs, can you download any MP3 song? Or do they only take iTunes? Any advice would be helpful. Maybe I should push her to the laptop? Hmmm, I don't know what to do. Thoughts anyone?

Is there just one plug for the HDMI or do you have to use the colored connectors too ? The reason I ask is that we just purchased an HDTV and it has several connections available on the back, but only one yellow. I wondered if I bought this HDMI cable if it would eliminate the need to plug in the yellow connection. If so, then I could leave the PS2@ hooked up as well. As far as set up, it was so simple I could connect it. All I had to do was match the colors on the Wii connections to the back of the TV.

Don't you pay tax at TRU ? I like the idea of a sleeve and a car adapter. Does the TRU come in a bundle ? I looked that one on Amazon and I like the bundle. I noticed there are cases for cards, skins, cleaners, etc. Tell me what I need to add to start with. (I've posted on another thread and may have answers there). I am green at this Dsi stuff.

I am planning to use this code tomorrow ... IF my daughter decides this is her big gift she is asking for. All of the American Girl stuff is "new" to me .. I know nothing about them. It just seems so pricey for a "doll". I would have thought they were more along the "collectible" line, but with all the accessories she wants to with the Just Like Me Doll, I would go broke. This is a tough decision in this economy, but she has had the doll in her sights for 6 months. I would rather get a laptop or a DSi, but I am not sure I can change her mind. I would like to get more opionions on the actual internet access from the DSi. Jerica, I was reading your review and it was very helpful. My daughter is almost 8 and loves to play online games such as Disney channel, NickJr, etc. We have 2 laptops in our home to share with 3 people. So, I was considering getting a cheap laptop for her, but am not sure that isn't a gift to "big" for a 7 year old (if that makes sense). Had a 15% off coupon and free shipping. Also earned $10 Kohn'ls cash on this alone. It's too early to add up the bottom line, but I guess around $35. Then I linked to Kohl's via my Ebates account for 8% cash back. Not to mention Ebates has a $10 bonus if you spend at atleast $10 by clicking from their site. So that drops it down to roughly $25. Kohl's also has the 250 tc sheet sets for $14.99. With the 15% off code they were showing in the cart at $12.74. Spent $50 on sheet sets, so that gets me another $10 in Kohl's cash. Got the 8% Ebates cash back. So far these are the only things I consider a "steal". I was able to buy a digital frame online at Walmart yesterday.
