Well we make cornbread stuffing and mine is fairly easy. Mine is very eyeballed though. I can make up some this weekend and actually look at how much stuff I put into it. Mine is just cornbread, celery, onion, sage, and other seasonings, and chicken broth. Mix together and cook. You are going to want something simple though. And out of 40 people I DEFINATELY would be doleing out chores to other people. You bring this you bring that. Drinks are something you can get others to bring. If not I would be making a lot of tea and koolaid lol. How many seperate families do you have coming?

We usually set an amount limit but I always make sure they have the same amount of gifts. This year is probably going to cause me to rethink Christmas as we knew it though.

Do we have estimated dates Eve? I know you are taking names till Nov. Then we have a whilte to get our stuff together right? Alex is having surgery on the 7th and I just want to make sure I will have time to get it all together before we have to have them in the mail. I cannot remember what last years deadline was lol.

Not unless we have changed the rules from last year. That would be a few more ornaments than I would be able to whip out this year lol. Eve will match you to someone on the ornament list. She will mail you the form they filled out that has thier likes and dislikes. You send an ornament to that person. Another person sends you one.

Well after waiting for 24 hours in line for a PS 3 I have decided I will never do that again. That point in my life when that might be "fun" is long gone lmao.

We cut off the end of ours when we get home and DH puts asprin in the water. I am not sure how much and how often I will check with him. Our trees always last from day after Thanksgiving to New years .... and we live in Texas so not a cool area.

A few years back we had a really really bad ordeal when DH had lost his job and it was Nov. I can honestly say that it was the most trying thing I have ever been through. Plus the thought that I had to swallow my pride did not help. I can remember someone offering to help and I just bawled it was very defeating but I was extremely greatful. You are a very good friend for thinking of them. I definately think a food basket is a good idea. Maybe even a supplies one, things you do not think about till you do not have it. Paper towels, toilet paper etc. I do not know what is avaible in your area but you might want to submit thier names to a local radio show closer to Christmas. The ones around here typically do help a family out day and do some really great things. Kidd does awesome stuff if he has a morning show in your area.

I am REALLY liking the way the potato casserole sounds! I am going to have to try it! I like the jello pie as well! going to have to try that one. :) This is always one of my favorite threads lol.

I have more than once found things later in the year "spring cleaning". The kids like it when I do anyway lol. DD since that year has asked Mom did you get everything this year?

Thankfully we do not have to very long to wait. DD and I usually just spend the time chitchatting and going over our "game plan".

If Kmart has anything good I will go. I know one year they had a really good deal on board games. I went for myself and my best friend and left my buggy at the end of the isle. Stupid mistake I got back and got to balance the board games to the cash register.

We have in years past given to everyone. That is however probably going to get nixed this year if everything goes as planned. We will give to main teachers and teachers aides that spend a lot of time with DS. Unless I can find something really cheap to do for everyone ... which honestly have done in teh past so it is possible. :)

Oh ok I was not aware we were discussing your child lol. I am a huge James Avery person so is DD so I will recommend silver jewelery from them. They have some really pretty things. www.jamesavery.com We got DD a charm bracelet and have been buying her charms to go on it at major occasions. We are looking at a laptop this year for DD 14.

What age is she? Also what are you looking at spending?

Does anyone think that the HS Musical stuff will realistically be a BF thing? It has been years since I have kids in the "toy" stage so I am reajusting. Also is the cookie monster our or is that going to be a release like Elmo was last year?
