We have the one from Walmart that you paint yourself. The kids and DH and I have painted them over the years. Every year when they drop down to 1.00 or below we buy some more to add to our village.

Normal me would probably say something smart a$$ as I was giving them whatever and end up in a fight over that. Course now when it is the last whatever and my child wanted it and I wanted to make sure they had it we move into insane momma territory and the we would have to have a come to jesus meeting . So BF since I shop for the kids falls under insane momma territory and chances are they would not get what I had.

We always do the Am Express gift cards ... or cash. At that age they appreciate that more than most things . I know it's boring but they really appreciate it.

Kinda depends on the amount you want to spend? Do you have a price range? The best would be a SLR but they are around 700 and up .

I wish I could make divinity! Maybe I need to try it again. In the past I have not been able to make candy or pies no clue why. I can make homemade alfredo sauce from scratch to me if I could make that I should be able to make candy right? lol BTW I have been looking for a recipe forever and have never been able to find it even googling it. My mom always called it 4 layer delight. I remember it having some kind of nuts and graham crackers and then cool whip and pastacio sp pudding.

A happy healthy family and a good Christmas. Last year was really bad and I honestly will be thankful if we have no problems putting food on the table for our usual Christmas at our house . Course I agree waking up a size 8 would not hurt my feelings either

What about altering your own so your card is just the picture with writing on it? You could do them in your photo program and then have them printed at walmart or cvs or whereever has a good price that week? Given you would still have to buy envies.

Did you check ebay on go karts? There are a lot on there for pretty good prices.

Not any more than mine were at that age. Does he have anything he is really into? Like you mentioned he has action figures? What kind? I remember this age it was hard.

Most of the stuff we buy is a BF thing so I will be pretty much done that day. Course I always find way more and end up buying right up until Christmas eve. I really wish I had some kind of restraint lol.

Wow I have done nothing lol. With the dance/bday party and the trip I doubt I will do much if any shopping before the PS3 comes out. And that one is only if I can get it on the release date ... not buying one on Ebay .

Year before last we had so much on our platter that I completely forgot about them. Last year we had a really bad year so I just figured cutting out that money I would have spent on stamps was a good idea. This year I am thinking why bother lol noone noticed the last two years so doubtful I will send them this year. I do have two or three people I just buy cards for and send and I will continue to do that the first week in December.

We do chex mix and then the sweet chex mix. Usually make oreos dipped in 1/2 white and 1/2 dark chocolate with green and red sprinkles.

Every year for teachers we do baskets one of the things we always put in them are chex mix. DH makes it every year, he makes it extra spicy. Last year I put them in mason jars and used little fabric squares as part of the lids. They turned out really cute. My best friend makes candles I will ask her when she gets back tomorrow what the board is that she goes too for help. It's just for candle making but I cannot remember the site.

More often than not I have gone alone. It isn't that big a deal you will meet more poeple than you want too. Plus you don't have to listen to someone else .

Our friends and my husbands family think I am insane. Course I am a couponer so they already thought that so no big loss. Hubby used to think I was till we sat down and had a big discussion about how long I had been BF shopping (way before I knew him). Anyway he soon figured out it went a lot deeper than good deals. It is something I can remember doing with my mom before she died. And how that and the day after Christmas shopping were the two days of the year I can never remember not spending the day with her and just being really happy. :) I am so happy now that I have my daughter to share that day with. So insane or not it is getting passed to the next gen.

I usually rest then wrap anything that is a BIG item for the kids. As far as the rest of it I leave it bagged till I am completely done. If not I forget what I bought and I can't compare to make sure they are getting the same amount. ; ) I did try a master list once but they found it.
