  1. That doesn't sound like fun at all... Will you be missing T-Giving dinner with the fam too?

    ----

Amazon.com had some decent Wii game & accessory deals, I bought some stuff last year.

Newegg.com had some great deals last year too. I bought some LCD monitors and graphics cards (they had other electronic items too.

Bestbuy.com has limited supplies of the items they offer in the stores. NO BB door-busters are available online though. I bought a GPS and hard drive from them for BF 2007 -- no way would I have waited in that massive line on BF for just two items!

I shouldn't miss dinner but I won't be able to cook it this year so no telling what we will have. Knowing my family burgers and fries.

  2. Ok it's looking like I will be having surgery and unable to participate in the Black Friday tradition. Anyone have any suggestions for online shopping on Black Friday? I've never done it but this year I'm gonna have to try.
  3. Not really waiting for anything. Anxious to see what they have though. I've taken to going ahead and buying things this year. Seems to be alot of good deals out there if you look for them. Better than usual lately. Guess the economy has pushed retailers into actually cutting prices.
  4. 1. In your opinion, what store had the best Black Friday ad last year (2008) and why?

Tough one, but I would choose Kohl's. I guess I'm a little partial because my teenage son went there with me.

    2. What would be your #1 piece of advice to someone totally new to Black Friday?

A notebook, pen and someone to help gather stuff while you stand in line. You should have a seperate list for every store and decide what you want most. Say Best Buy has a computer you want and sears has a Christmas Tree. Which do you want more because odds are after standing in the first line they will be out at the second store, so go for what you want the most first.

    3. Besides offering great deals, what else can a store do to get you to shop there on BF?

Have better organization. If I could go to a store that actually had a quick kind of checkout I would go there first. I spend way too much time in line for the things I buy. I can't tell you how many times I've left a store because the line was 2 hours long.

  5. Sorry to hear you had problems lilac. I ordered from this site at Christmas with no problems, but still not a bad idea to be careful.

It was about the 5th time I had ordered online from them, but the first time I had used Paypal to pay. Really sucks because the store here doesn't carry most of the band stuff my son likes. I probably wouldn't be so mad if they had customer service that would take care of stuff. Not gonna order from them again but there are lots of other online retailers to spend my money with:yup:

  6. Be Very Careful with this site. Used paypal before Christmas for a purchase. They processed my order 11 times. Charged paypal twice. Never got clothes and still fighting to get my last $13 back from them. Their mistake but they tried numerous times to tell me I pushed submit 11 times, funny I only got one confirmation email. I didn't figure it out until I got 11 shipping notifications. They turned all 11 around and didn't process refund correctly. These were full price orders so it killed me. Guess out $13 but learned a valuable lesson. Paypal at least stopped them from charging me 11 times, only letting them charge twice. Not falling for them again. They just aren't worth the time and trouble, oh and by the way it takes them over a week to answer an email. Calling them doesn't provide any better results either. Just make sure you check your paypal, credit cards, and bank accounts if you order from them.
  7. I got my DS the Recon CS-6. It seems to jam some, but he loves it. Gotta go today and get 3 AAA batteries. Oops guess I missed that one. I bought AA instead. Anyway it took us forever to get the thing together, nothing wanted to snap in. Had to force some of it together. Once we got it all together it worked well. He had 2 darts that got really messed up when they jammed so in the trash they went.
  8. If your still looking I love Home Depot for appliances. Bought all of mine as floor models for more than 50% off. My stove I am especially proud of, normally $2500 bought off floor for $900. I bought my microwave that matches from Best Buy floor model for $55 normally $300. Just keep looking good deals are out there.
  9. Happened to us once, from making a purchase and then right after at the same store. Had to call bank for them to release it, they just wanted to verify the purchases were from us. Great safety feature but very inconvenient.

I actually had to go to the bank and it still hasn't been released. At least I can use my checking account again. There for a little while Friday I couldn't use my check book either.

  10. SWEET DEAL! Even with the shipping..only $352 for a laptop! That $100 was such a great jesture from BestBuy. Mine is already spent and I love it!! :fluffy:

It was very nice of them. They caused me alot of problems though. Something about my debit card being flagged for fraudulent activity because of multiple charges from them. I still don't have it straightened out. My card is still inactive but my checking account is right now. Made shopping bad yesterday.

  11. That HP laptop is back up to $749.99 and I did not see the Toshiba one for $379. But they have a sale that just started today for a Compaq for $399.99.

Just ordered this one. Used my $100 off but no in store pickup so it came to 352 with tax and shipping.

  12. Do you guys know for sure that the $350 laptop is with a mail-in-rebate. Or are yu just saying that is how Office Depot 'usually' does things? I am interested in this laptop but I am not messing with any rebates

It is with a 200 instant and 50 mail in rebate. Here is the link to their site sale ad. The ad is available on their web site now.
