Great tips, the drinking thing is true but we usually stop for a bathroom break after we check-out of our first store. Since I shop with two other people who always have to use the restroom, it's lucky one of us can always stay in line.

My only prediction is a big ad will come out on 11/9, but I'm hoping some of the big ads will come out before that because I'm really impatient!

We got our big book in the mail today also, and it came with coupons (like others have mentioned), which will come in handy.

When you guys bring all this stuff with you, where do you put it before you go into the store? Do you run and put it in your car or something? I can't imagine taking so much stuff, it seems like it'd make things more complicated.

It's not usually that cold here, but I dress in layers (tee shirt, sweater, jacket and scarf/gloves) with jeans and tennis shoes. Take some coffee and stand and keep moving until the doors open.

I was at target today and found a really good deal over in the kitchen clearance section, they had the Rival Crock-Pot BBQ-Pit for $24 and change. I thought maybe some people here might be interested in this item, it's a really good price for the BBQ pit.

I can't imagine that people really will sell a free ticket, that's taking advantage of people (and the people who are willing to buy the ticket are just as bad). That's going to come back to hurt you, taking advantage of people by selling a ticket you didn't even want/need, you could have just given it to them and done a good deed.

No, everything comes down right after christmas or shortly after, I've seen people leave chrismtas lights up year-round and I think it looks tacky.

So there will be a ticket for any limited quanity item, doorbuster or not?

So what about items that are not doorbusters but are still big items (laptops, MP3 players, etc). If you want a big item like that, which they put on sale for BF but not a doorbuster, do you just run and try and fight for the item? The reason I'm asking is because in one of the other threads someone mentioned a laptop that is rumored to be on sale on BF, but not a doorbuster. I just wasn't sure how things work with non-doorbuster big items.

I'm hoping they have some good deals on sweaters and jackets, but we'll see.

Last year Sams didn't have anything good, but maybe they'll do better this year. Since Sams is right next to walmart, if they had anything good it'd be easy to make the extra stop.

I guess my traditions are after Thanksgiving dinner, my sister and I sit down and make out our lists and decide which store to be out first and then our plan of action after that store. On BF morning, my sister, mom and I head out to our first location where we will wait until the doors open then we divide, get what we want, and meet back in the front of the store to head to the checkout lines. Then it's back to the car with our packages and on to the next location. Last year we waited in line at BB, got in and out with everything we wanted in under 10 minutes and were at Target to wait in line there for the doors to open. Target took a little longer (cause the lines were longer) but I believe we still got everything we went after and were out of there in good time. We hit a few more stores after that and did pretty well, so I'm hoping this year goes just aswell. We normally don't go out for a BF breakfast after shopping, but I think that's a tradition I'd like to start one of these years, I guess we'll have to see about that.

I think Kmart will be the only big store that will continue having a layaway plan once walmart is done.

I didn't see anything in Kmarts ad I wanted and we don't have an Ace Hardware around here so I'm starting to get a little discouraged, but I'm waiting for BB, CC, Target, etc. for the items that will be of more interest to me.

I've never seen that done at BB around here, but that'd sure be nice for the people who are lined up all night.

I don't know if there will be anything at Kohl's on BF that will be of interest to me, unless they put kitchen electrics on sale for pretty cheap.

Kelly I was just going to post our Toys R Us story! Yeah it's worth standing in the rain on BF for good deals, I'm not really willing to stand outside in the cold and rain for much else.

Ohh, okay I guess I was just a little confused for a moment. I'm glad we have a subscription to the newspaper, I wouldn't want to be out on Thanksgiving morning searching for one.
