  1. I got the same message. Hopefully, some of us will qualify! My fingers are crossed...and thanks so much for the post! :)
  2. I didn't qualify this time either. I'm sure having a string of bad luck these days. I MISS THE EXTRA CASH!!! Ugh... Good luck to everyone else!!
  3. They called me today...I got in! Thanks for posting!!
  4. That's awesome Judithra! I also applied and my fingers and toes are crossed for getting in. I hope a bunch of us qualify!! Thanks for posting, Miranda (even though I got the email, as well!). I think we all could use an extra $150 this time of year!!
  5. I'm not sure how old your niece is, but I have a chubby daughter. We have a LOT of success at the Deb store. They have a Plus Size section for girls...and carry the same styles as the other section...the clothes are just cut a little wider. Not all Deb stores carry this section in their store, but a lot of them do. Generally, its 1/2 the store regular sizes and 1/2 the store Plus Sizes. Everything from prom dresses, homecoming dresses, to shoes, swimsuits, jeans, shorts, jackets, etc...they carry it. If you have any questions, just PM me. I've dealt with this all her life and she's 14 now. I may have other suggestions for you depending on her age, etc. Good luck!!
  6. Found them on amazon.com, too. The drug stores around here...like Ford Pharmacy (not Walgreens, etc.) have them...so do all of our hospital gift shops, Hallmark stores, a few flower shops, and Coach House Gifts. We also have a couple other places like King's Variety Store (its a little 5 and Dime store in a small town outside of ours). My daughter just turned 14 and STILL loves them, so I was on this big hunt earlier this June to find one she was looking for. Anyway, try calling your hospital gift shop as that's an unlikely place for everyone to look.
  7. Try funjet.com for a package deal. I know our area runs sales ALL the time with this tour operator. So does allegiance airlines...which I think is allegianceairlines.com. For an even better deal, you can try patravel.com. Its a travel company in Pennsylvania where they discount ALL tour packages and you get a rebate at the end. I learned about them through the travel magazines I read. We used them when we went to Jamaica and saved several hundred dollars. I always check with them first before making a reservation. It doesn't matter where you live...I'm in Wisconsin. They're a great resource!! If you want more info, just PM me as I don't want to take up all that space here! LOL Anyway, good luck!
  8. Yes! I got in on the $18.50 one the other night. Didn't take too long (15 minutes?) and it was worth the money!! I cashed out about $26 after that, so we'll see how long it takes. I don't often qualify for the Opinion Outpost Surveys and its taken me forever to get this far. LOL Anyway, I hope it comes soon!!
  9. Sorry...I did this in a hurry from work when I saw you were looing for airfare. The correct airline for the travel auctions is not Aer Lingus...its Lufthansa (I had just booked someone on Aer Lingus which is why I had that on my mind). Anyway, you may be able to find something on Lufthansa if you look. Good luck!
  10. Try searching on bestfares.com. You don't need to be a member to look and you can do a "low fare city search" which will also give you prices for alternative airports. They give you published and members only fares and you can guage by that. I think its like $60 to be a member but that can pay off big time if the fare is right. I also know that aerlingus does fare auctions and you can sometimes get REALLY GOOD deals on there, too. I book a lot of travel for my company and our employees always come to me to help them get a good deal on personal travel. Another hint on personal travel. Airlines hold fares for people when asked (like 24 hours). However, come midnight, those fares are released again if not booked. So...you can often find those really good deals in the wee hours of the morning if nobody has taken advantage of them. I myself have gotten GREAT fares at 1:00 a.m.!! LOL I'd be more than happy to help you look if you want to send me a private message with the details. I'm going to be out of town tonight but will be back tomorrow morning/early afternoon and would love to help you look!!
  11. I think the funniest thing that ever happened to me was a few years ago at Walmart. This was before our Walmart was open 24 hours. I was going through a divorce and asked a male friend of mine to help me obtain a small pool table that was a door buster that morning. So, off we went to Walmart to stand in line around 4:30 a.m. and it was about 35 degrees out. Anyway, I had some other things on my list so when the store opened, I told him to go get the pool table and I'd get the other things and we'd meet up somewhere. So, off I ran, grabbed my stuff and headed to toy department when I see him coming toward me empty handed. I was disappointed and figured surely he didn't know how to shop on this crazy morning. I was just about to ask him if they were out of the pool table already, when I realized he had blood running down his head/face. I said OMG...what happened? He said that he was trying to find the pool tables, when there was a mad rush on bikes and someone dropped one on his head!! I couldn't help but laugh...here he was doing me this HUGE favor, he never shopped in this craziness in all his life, gets mixed up in the middle of everyone, and a bike of all things falls on his head! We still laugh about that to this day...but he's never been back out there on BF!! LOL
