  1. Does anyone know if some of the Easter candy is marked down on the same schedule as regular Easter decorations? I know most stores have gone to only marking candy to 30% the day after, but I wondered if some of the candy is part of the normal markdowns with decorations??

I'm specifically interested in the Hersheys solid chocolate rabbits that sell in a pack of 10 (I think). They have them in Santas at Christmas time too.

Seems like at Christmas there was some candy that did get marked to 1/2 price the day after.... or maybe I am dreaming??? LOL

Just thought I would ask to save myself a trip.

  2. *If* they let you return it, they will probably give you the lowest selling price in the last month. I have had mixed luck trying to return without a receipt. There have been times where they flat-out refused. And last time they did it, they said you could return up to two times per year with no receipt.

Can you have your parents mail you the receipt? Or get their credit card #?

Well the receipt is gone. I suppose I could go in with a credit card number. I've NEVER returned anything without a receipt, and I guess I thought that they would let you do that as long as it was within the parameters of their policy. Sounds like that's not the case?? I don't like confrontation with cashiers, so I'd just like to know what to expect. Sounds like you are saying that even though I've never done a return without receipt, they still may not do it for me?

  3. I have something that I need to return. My parents (from out of town) paid for it and accidentally took the receipt with them when they left. So this is a return without receipt, which I've never done so I should be okay to do that with my license (up to $60 or $70, I think??)

Anyway, what I need to return happens to be on sale this week in their ad for $3 less than what we paid for it. So, if I take it in next week AFTER the advertised sale on it is over, will they refund me its current selling price or will their system show that it was on sale just a few days earlier and only give me that price? Not a huge deal, but there are 4 of these items, so $3 off each one kind of adds up.

I'm just not familiar about how this works because I save all my Target receipts and if I'm too lazy to dig one out for a return, I always do a receipt look up on my redcard. This is a unique circumstance though since the receipt is long gone and my parents have the card it was paid for on.

Don't some stores only give you the lowest selling price over the past 14 or 30 days or something if you don't have a receipt?? Just wondering if Target is like that too.

If anyone has experience with that, could you let me know?

  4. The success I've had with it was when I actually went through the line and THEN did the price match at customer service. This is the way that most Target stores have required me to do any price matching. But, some have said that they just go straight to customer service and it works fine. I was unsure about whether the $10 would automatically come off if you took it to customer service and they price adjusted the movies as they scanned them. But I think it's worked for some. It's just that my stores want you to go through the line first.

I did have one store tell me that the Toys R Us price of $16.99 was AFTER the $10 off 2 (which it is) and that it would be compiling 2 $10 off promotions on top of each other (which is true), and they wouldn't do it. So, I went back to the store that did it for me without any problems. I did it there twice and got FOUR movies for $7ish + tax. I also used 2 different e-mails on Disney and printed off 4 movie tickets for Toy Story 3 (worth $34) for me and my girls to see on summer break when it comes out in June.

An excellent deal for sure as I'm sure you have read. But your mileage with this one may definitely vary depending on how they interpret the TRUS ad. Still not a 1/2 bad deal even if you don't get the price match considering the value of the movie tickets to see the new release this summer.

  5. Found this cool ladder today marked down to $8.xx from $34.xx:

Also got the Kitchen Aid Food grinder for $12.48. I did the Toy Story deal again to get a couple more movie tickets for us to see Toy Story 3 this summer. (Four Toy Story movies for around $7+ tax and $34 worth of free theatre tickets to see the new movie in June.) I'll use the other set of movies as gifts or something.

  6. I was at Target the other day and noticed Easter candy and basket filler items on end caps all over the store.

They had a full end cap of Robin's Eggs in shoes!

I've never noticed this before and wondered what it all meant????

This store has plenty of Easter candy and items in its Seasonal area.

I'm thinking there will be plenty of things left over at 90% (fingers crossed anyway).

Is anyone else's store like this? I haven't checked the other stores in town yet.

I noticed it too when I was there today. I thought it odd that there was Mini Snickers and Twix Easter bags in the Pharmacy aisle! I also noticed that the Easter aisle was piled high with stuff, so either they aren't selling much of it or have gotten EVERYTHING out on the floor so there aren't any hidden boxes in the storage room when the clearance sale starts. Easter stuff was literally stacked to the ceiling in this store. Of course, with the crappy weather we've been having, it's hard (for me at least) to think about Easter being just a week and a half away! I like it so much better when Easter is in late April.

  7. you are lucky if you are getting Target to PM the TRU ad and take ANOTHER $10 off your order. Their PM policy is to match the competitor's pricing, but if they are running a promo as well, the customer service person should only be adjusting your price down to match the $16.99 (before the Disney coupons) per DVD for buying 2.

I totally didn't think it would work either, but they did it for me this morning.

I went through the line and paid the $22.99 twice; got the $30 discount with coupons/promo, plus another 5% discount for a trial program they are running in our city for Redcard holders. Went to customer service and got $12.06 credit back to my card for the Toys R Us price match. If my math is right, I paid $3.12 for both movies (not counting tax).

  8. Forgive me, I know this off topic.

I have never joined Disney rewards until tonight. I just joined to get the $10 off Toy Story coupons. So, now I'm wondering about allllllllll the zillions of Disney movies I've purchased over the past 9 years for my young girls and whether it would be acceptable/worth my while or even allowable for me to enter in those DVD UPC codes? Is it worth the time and energy to collect them all up and enter everything in?

Any help would be appreciated. Again, I know it's off topic, but the thread hasn't exactly been on fire with much conversation, and I thought maybe I could just get a quick answer from someone who has experience with Disney Rewards.

    TIA!:)

  9. With the old format, I used to be able to log in and just stay logged in. Now, it seems I have to log in a lot more often or else when I go to "view first unread" message, it takes me to stuff that I've already read.

Why am I continually being logged out? Is there anyway to change that or is that something that can't be controlled.

It's not a huge deal, but it was nice to always be able to just pop in during the day and check on postings without having to log in all the time.

    :)

  10. I think it's nationwide. You can always scan the item and in the upper right hand corner of the scanner it will tell you if it's part of a gift card promo.

My Target has taken down some of the signs - but has left some of them up. The products they can't seem to keep on the shelves (of course the ones I'm looking for) are the ones that have been taken down.

So, is the Olay deal on any/all of the moisturizers or just bath/shower gels or what? Or is it over? I was at Target today and didn't see any signs, but I know sometimes the absence of signs doesn't mean that the promotion is over necessarily. I just didn't have time to look really hard.

  11. Hmmm, today another employee told me it goes through Sunday, so who knows. The employees at Dillard's, while very nice, don't seem to be very well informed! Previous poster, I hope your snowstorm clears so you can score some bargains.

It's always run through Wednesday through Saturday around here. HOWEVER, this particular sale started a day late, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if they extended it til Sunday.

  12. Oh I just cry a little inside every time I see someone who got the Del Monte fruit cups. Literally, that is ALL I wanted from the bulk section... just 1 pack!! I hid it on Monday thinking that IF bulk went lower THIS week, I would be sure to get it.

Well, I was surprised to hear bulk all went lower Tues/Wed., so I went to get it last night... GONE. UGH!! I shoulda just bought the stupid thing at 30% off.

So, the "hide the merchandise" gods got me this time. Usually, I am so fortunate and quite honestly, there isn't much that I hide anymore cause I just don't stockpile like I used to. I still have toilet paper/paper towels/Tide/dish soap/baggies/cups/plates, etc.. from Targets past up the wazoooo.

But, I just ran out of fruit cups that I got from Costco though and thought "oh, this would be great to get at 1/2 price for the girls' lunches". Booo hooooo hooooo :(

I know, I know... big deal, so go spend the extra couple bucks and get some.

I just needed to share my sadness. Anyway, I did find toilet paper and had a coupon for another $2 off, so I picked one up even though I don't really need anymore paper goods.

  13. There was a table full of Ugg boots and shoes at the Springfield, MO Dillards today. No size 5's though, shucks. One lady came in and bought 95% of the clearance Coach bags at opening. I am almost sure she owns/works for the local resale boutique. Nothing I was interested in anyway, all bags were much too small. I ended up buying a winter coat, some scarves, shoes and clothes for the kids. Other poster was right, same stuff as last time, but much lower prices. I also had one of those 10% off coupons, but they wouldn't let me stack it with the 40% off.

That's odd that they refused to use your 10% shopping pass. Nobody said anything to me about it... only that it was a great day to use that. I didn't look closely at the verbiage on it, but I definitely would have if someone told me that I couldn't use it.

  14. Hit the mother load on Ugg Boots today at Zona Rosa... both women's and kids. I had an extra 10% off certificate with my card, so most of them were all about 62-63% off. some nice styles too....not goofy colors or anything. Got 4 pair for my girls and 2 pair for me. The Uggs in the kids section weren't even on the sale shelf with the rest of the sale shoes. I just knew that they were redlined from several weeks ago and knew what to look for. Oak Park has been out of kids Uggs for awhile now, so it was worth a 30 minute trip up there.

The women's Uggs were flying off the shelves.

  15. I just see several posters saying valentines is salvaged, so does vday candy not go to 90% off like the other stuff? My store has a lot of vday candy mixed in with the regular ones, so should I buy them at 75 off instead of waiting for it to be 90%off. Please advice as this is my first time shopping vday clearance.

I don't know about anyone else's Target stores, but around here, it really seems like they have scaled back the amount of candy they order for the holidays-- maybe not so much Halloween, but Christmas/V-day... etc...

There used to be so much flippin' candy around after the holidays, so maybe they stopped buying so much of it!

  16. Last time they had their xtra 30% off clearance... end of January, Dillards sent me an e-mail the MONDAY prior notifying me that cardholders would have the sale on Tuesday (a day early). I still haven't gotten that e-mail yet as of 7:15 Monday evening.

Has anyone who has a Dillards card got an e-mail?

Wondering if maybe they are just going to start the sale on Wednesday this time without the day's advance to cardholders???

    hmmmm....

(I will make sure to post if I DO get an e-mail later tonight!)
