1. so are we thinking it will start wed the 24th ?

That is what I'm thinking only because that is the timeframe from years past. Unless the rough winter that most every state has seen convinces them to postpone it.

I certainly don't know the date for sure -- just an educated guess.

  2. Historically, the sale starts Tuesdays for card holders and then Wednesday through Saturday for the general public. (At least that is how it happens in KC.)

They started giving card holders the opportunity to shop the sale on Tuesdays, so I got one of their silly cards JUST to use for their really big clearance sales. That card doesn't see any action other than about twice a year! LOL...

  3. Got some GOOD deals today! The plain kids t-shirts that used to be in the bulk section were marked at $1.50 (on a rack in the boys section). I got to the register and they rang up $.75! Woo! So I went back after I paid to get more in every size to save and went back to the same cashier. These shirts rang up $1.50! We looked over my receipt and found that two colors in the size small rang up $.75, but one color was $1.50 and all of the larger sizes were $1.50. Weird. So, anyway, I at least got a bunch of small t-shirts for $.75 each! Also saw hoodies for $1.50, but those were picked over and couldn't find the sizes I needed.

Also found some Tide Free for $5.xx (50% off). Used a couple of coupons and got it for $3.xx and got a FREE Tide Stain Release (coupon from the 2/7 P&G).

I also picked up a few things from the bulk section at 30% off. Not rock-bottom prices, but cheaper than I could normally find them, so I bit.

V-Day still 50% off as expected.

Anyone have an idea when all of the Backugan toys will go 75% off? Maybe this Wed/Thurs?

Not sure where you found yours, but if you can't find them in the bulk section, check the normal kids clothing sections too. I found all those colored hoodies and t-shirts marked at 75% off but they were all in the boys/girls clothing section just hanging in with the other sale clothes. I even found a couple boys Lauren Polo shirts for 75% off. Got them for my nephews. Lots of size medium red, orange, navy and white t-shirts for 75 cents. There were also Hilfiger hoodies hanging there too, but they looked like they ran small and I only saw mediums. This was in Stanly.

  4. Not sure where you live in CA, but the little Razor bikes are illegal on all streets & sidewalks throughout the state of CA. They are considered Pocket Bikes or electric scooters. As scooters they don't have VIN and cannot be registered for street riding, and they can't be ridden on sidewalks etc. either. If they could, they would also require you to have a drivers license to operate them.

I saw 2 of those yesterday while I was out and passed on them. I thought so hard about getting them for my nephews... they would have LOVED me! I dunno... I skipped them because I just wasn't sure if they looked a bit dangerous and I would be horrified if they got themselves hurt on something that I bought for them.

They seem to have good reviews on Amazon though and it's probably one of those things I should have picked up and THEN made a decision as to whether to keep it.

Guess I just didn't feel like toting the big box around. Good price though $249.xx down to $62.xx!!

  5. Has any one been lucky enough to catch the big baby items at 75% in past years? I bought the Stroller/Car seat combo at 50% which is a great deal but I am just wondering if I should have waited for 75%.

I found a Britax carseat one year...I have a feeling that was a bit of "freakish" good luck though and it was also back during the years of much better clearance shopping at Target. I don't look down the baby aisle anymore, so I'm not even sure they still carry Britax??

  6. Is my child the only one who has no interest in them AFTER getting them from Santa? Those pretty enticing television commercials had her begging for months before Christmas. Santa brought her one hamster, the car and ball. She was so excited to see them on Christmas morning but quickly lost interest as the ball fell apart, the hamster kept falling over and the car was just a glorified "walker". This line is such a waste of money and ticked me off at how enticing they made them without follow through.

Geez. My kids are the same way. I picked 2 up at Target just 3 days before Christmas... Thank goodness that I only got 3 hamsters and didn't get any of the accessories. $7.99 was so big deal. My kids haven't played with them since Christmas. I've decided to turn the Zhu Zhus over to the cats. :) They seem to show more interest than my kids.

  7. I got the Bolt and 17 Again movie too. Hope my kiddos like it. They've been begging me to get Bolt forever. With the 40% off coupon, I think I paid like $11.xx for both movies. After I got home and saw how cheap everything was on my receipt... literally nothing for over $7.50... I went back. I shopped 5 stores yesterday on the same 40% off coupon. Most of the cashiers were happy to give it to me as long as I showed my receipt proving that I did in fact have the coupon and used it that day. I got the brown bomber coat too and a grey/cream colored dressier coat (like wool, only I'm sure some cheap material). It was only $7.xx too!!

I'm having a hard time switching to Justice from good quality clothes like Gymboree. But, my oldest daughter is 8 1/2 and Gymboree clothes don't always fit her tastes anymore. I go a bit crazy with Justice sales like this. To me, this is about really what their clothing is worth. I'm not sure that I would ever go in and buy something full price at Justice, but most everything for under 10 bucks-- Heck ya!!

One of the cashiers told me the by one, get one free accessory deal is something that they only do about twice a year. I wonder how long it will go on? I didn't think to ask when I was there.

  8. My husband did the happy dance today. We found a Barbie Jeep Power Wheels for 62.48 and 2 three wheel power wheels type motorcycles for 44.98 each.

    ###082030043 rand 12 volt 44.98

    ###082030050 barbie jeep 62.48

We went to three other Targets in our area, but we didn't find anymore of them.

Ohhhh, nice on the Barbie Jeep. Ours is about on its last legs and I would love to have a new one for our youngest. I don't think I've even seen them out at our stores. I may have to look a bit closer!!

  9. Don't know if the markdown schedule for Justice is done nationwide, but I went to 3 stores today (Kansas City), and they had just finished (last night and this morning according to the sales clerk) marking everything down in the clearance area to $12.99 and under.

Also, the clearance accessories are buy one, get one free. Seemed to be a lot of junk in that area, but I found a few neat things to save as b-day party gifts.

I also happened to have a 40% off coupon, which I was able to use at all three stores. I just showed my receipt and they honored it.

Really got a lot of good deals and the selection (right now) is pretty good.

  10. KC-Traderbear: Were the cleats pink & black, or a choice of pink or black? I have boys, so no pink for us. :(

Ya know... there might have been some solid black (or black/silver). I just noticed that the majority were pink and black and I have all girls, so I kinda just went straight for those. I think I did see some red stickers on some of the black ones though. I can't say for sure though. Sorry.:(

  11. I buy for Christmas and Birthdays for my kids and my nieces. I use smaller items for stocking stuffers and for our 12 days of Christmas gifts. The only way I can pull off such a great Christmas is with Target! I always keep a few items stored for Birthday parties for random school friends. I also donate a few items to Toys for Tots and anything left that I decide I just can't use I put in my garage sale for exactly (sometimes less) than I paid.

We don't do TWELVE days of Christmas, but with all the fun, cheap deals I buy after each holiday clearance, I always make up a special little gift bag for our daughters filled with crazy kids' things that are appropriate for the holiday. It was a little easier when they were really little, but they still look forward to getting that bag a week or two prior to each holiday. I just pick a random day to surprise them with it at the table when they come up for breakfast.

I was just digging around in the Valentine's stuff today figuring out what I was going to put in their bags this year. Valentine's is a little different because they always get something special ON Valentine's Day from their dad too.

...spoiled, spoiled, spoiled... I know :o

  12. I also buy for MY family (sister, g'parents) to give to our kiddos for gifts. They love that all they have to do it buy it from me (cheap), wrap it and they don't have to struggle with what to give my kids. Also, in their cases, they do not live anywhere close to a major city and don't have access to get gifts at very good prices. So, they are just thrilled about it!! (I don't do it for my inlaws, just my parents and sister.)

(...and I have a bit more control over them giving our kids a toy/gift that we already have.)

I also used to buy a few things to resell... help to cover the costs of my own kids' gifts, but it's hard to find the time to do that anymore with 3 kids. Plus, the toy aisle kind of tires me out anymore.

  13. Kinda early to ask about toys, but I picked up one of those Pet Shop games (shop the mall or something...). I really hesitated and actually passed it up at one store, but then picked one up later.

The age on the game says 9+. From my experience in pet shop "crap", which is pretty vast with 3 girls, I'm not sure my soon to be 9 year old would appreciate pet shop stuff. My 4 and 6 year old really like to play with them.

However, I bought the game cause if it's a fun game then the pet shop theme probably won't be a big deal to my older daughter. I don't know though....

Has anyone cracked this game open yet or have any experience with giving it/playing it and how it was received?

Kinda silly to make a pet shop game for kids 9 and older (IMO). It just doesn't seem like their audience exactly. However, maybe it's a really cool game. Or, maybe younger kids can play in some modified form.

Oh well, it was cheap. Unless someone has awful things to say about it, I'll probably just keep it.

  14. I found it wierd too that they still kept some stuff 30 off and 50 off with a majority of 75 off but if I recall, they did the same thing last year. It was torture! I wanted some thomas stuff and it's only 30 off! Scanned it all and nothing! Bummer!

It's kind of a bummer, but you might actually have better luck snagging it. Once the craziness that surrounds this particular toy sale dies down, the toy aisle lurkers tend to go away. It does still mean that you have to continue schlepping to Target to keep an eye on what you want for another couple weeks, which is a pain, I know.

Also, please remember, if you didn't get what you want, check back in a couple of days. Some of us will be returning stuff. LOL, so you'll have a second chance!!!!

I think that when you have crowded aisles of shoppers grabbing things, sometimes people tend to just get caught up in the grabbing and quite possibly don't even really want what they are grabbing, but just don't want to miss something! Just a little armchair psychology on my part. :D (course that's never been ME!) HAH LOL!!

  15. I was out and about to a few Targets today. For some reason, Target sent me a 10% off coupon to use (which I don't understand cause we are still doing the 5% everyday trial here). Anyway, FIRST, I saw a jewelry armoire at the OP Super Target for 75% off... $49.99. I was just there at 2 p.m. I didn't take it.

I also went to the Mission Target, but as I sit here, I can't even remember what I bought-- LOL! So it must not have been that memorable. I was there around 10:15. Oh, I did pick up a Scooby Doo game for the Smartcycle as well as a pet shop set ($2.xx) and the Mrs. Goodbye (or Goodbee) talking bus ($7.48). I saw a lot of those Christmas trains people were talking about. I saw many of those everywhere I went. I would say if you are in the market for one of those, you shouldn't have any problem.

I also went to Stateline Super Target. By just dumb luck, I picked up this Mrs. Goodbye (or Goodbee) dollhouse, which was only marked at 1/2 price. As I was strolling around deciding whether I should get it or hide it or WHAT, I saw the price team working in linens. So, I took a deep breath and asked if someone would scan the dollhouse for me (totally figuring I would get shooed outta the aisle). She was so nice... and said, "the toys are scheduled for markdown tomorrow, but I can scan that for you no problem!" Her machine spit out an orange sticker ($16.24), and I was happily on my way. I actually went back with a furniture set too, but those 2 things are the only things I asked her to scan. My youngest is turning 4 on Saturday and although most of what she is getting is from Target toy sales of the past, I thought this little house looked kinda cute.

So, the toy markdowns for Stateline are already in their PDAs, which I didn't think happened until the DAY they did markdowns. Dunno what that means. This was at about 1, so I can't really believe that they were on their way to toys after linens. She was so nice. She seemed like she would have told me. Her words were that toys are for tomorrow's markdowns. Maybe they were supposed to have been today, but they were just so behind.

So, KC peeps.... Stateline still has a lot of pretty good toys. If I was going back, I think that's where I would go. I was sorta all over town today. Except I didn't go to the Olathe Super Target. I did hear though that they went 75% this morning. Stanly was NOT at 75%; Ward Pkwy was NOT at 75%; OP Super was NOT at 75% and Stateline was NOT at 75%. Those are the only stores I visited. I would bet most are scheduled to go tomorrow.

I think I've been shopping the toy aisles too long though cause there just wasn't anything there that I thought was super-duper wonderful and as someone said, there really are a lot of toys left around this area. I think if I had smaller kiddos, I probably might think there were some cool things. There are a few Smart Cycles and I believe there is a Step 2 kitchen at that one too.

Unfortunately, I'm needing to stock my gift closet with electronics, Uggs, and Nintendo crap now. :(

Oh, I did find my screwdrivers/tape measure sets for 75% off. Mission had a lot of them unmarked. I picked up a few. So now when my dear husband uses/abuses/misplaces my special "mom only" tools, I have a back up supply!

  16. Wow, wish that sale was closer. THAT would be neat. Our area may be getting a store, but dunno for sure yet. The AG execs were here right before Christmas, and the mall had a big event with tons of little girls showing up-- dolls in hand-- to convince them that putting a store here would be a great idea!

That sale would be awesome to attend.

  17. Hi guys! I'm Julie, and I'm a perimeter peruser! It's addicting.

Thanks for all the deals! I found tape last night, thanks for the picture! I also looked in the kids' books and found a Fancy Nancy Christmas book that was $1.61! Not marked or anything. The Christmas pajamas here are still ringing up at 30%. The toys are 30-50%. I stashed some, we'll see if that works! :)

Welcome :).... nice to see so many new addicts.... err I mean forum contributors!!!

  18. Has anyone noticed whether or not the tool sets have been marked down to 75% off? I saw them all orange stickered earlier this week but since I haven't been to Target in awhile, I'm not sure exactly when they were initially marked down.

There are a few different sets... some have a tape measure, screwdrivers, wrenches; I think there is just a single tape measure also part of that group. Most that I saw earlier this week were 30-50% off. Seems like they do tools/automotive area toward the end of the week. That is why I am asking.

    TIA!
