  1. My mom and I plan our strategy after Thanksgiving dinner. She hits Wal Mart and Kmart, I hit the mall. We have each others list of what to get. That way, we both get the deals! My sister in law meets me here around 5am, we hop in my truck and head to the mall. Usually hit WalMart around 10, shop, each lunch, then KMart and the little stores. We actually do pretty good at the little stores-4 movies for $28 last year! DH spends the day decorating for me-only the outside. He gets all my wreaths and spot lights up so I am ready to light up that evening. We get home around 4, put everything in the garage, and hop back in the truck to go to my mom's for Light Up Night. Mom, her boyfriend, her friend and daughter, my aunt, uncle and their grandaughter, DH & me watch the fire truck parade, then head to the fire department so the kids can see Santa. After a rest from the big shopping day, sister in law and I plan our wrapping day. She comes over, DH lights a fire in the woodburner of the garage and we have a wrapping party. All the gifts are stacked up on the garage shelves for Santa to come and pick them up Christmas Eve. (Santa was here already-he dropped off a scooter for SIL kids. We are the holding place so Santa dosen't have to carry everything!) It's our yearly tradition!
  2. I work for a utility company and we have BF off. So many people called off or took vacation, they decided to just close and make it a holiday for us! That is OK with me!
  3. I love gift cards. I usually wait until the holiday madness slows down and then go shopping for myself!
  4. Gas is $2.49 here. I hope it keeps dropping!
  5. Cinnamon, Email me at Send pic of Cindy, please. We won't tie up the boards then! Shan
  6. Cinnamon- Go to photobucket.com/albums/y160/sgtboots2002 There are some pics of the huskies in the family. Total of 11 - Dad has 10, I have 1. Only one red in the bunch!
  7. CINNAMON HUSKIES-I am curious about your name. Tell me about it!
  8. Not at all, I am driving DH's truck this year (mine is wrecked in the garage) so I will just burn up his gas! Seriously, I would shop wherever regardless. I usually fill up the day before Thanksgiving, so I am ready to roll on Friday. We don't run around much anyway so $40 in gas isn't going to kill me. My sister in law and I have a system, I drive, she pays for breakfast and lunch. DH and I have "almost" twin SUVs, lot of room to fill up with the bargains!
  9. Mine gets up, warms my truck up for me, goes back in the house and goes back to bed!
  10. Were the $5 items at WalMart supposed to be a scheduled time thing (6a-11a?). We were there at 2 pm and they still had plenty and were selling them at $5. I just can't remember if they were a time limit thing.
  11. We don't have any kids and things that I buy for parents aren't part of the BF madness, but I still HAVE to go. My shopping is usually done by that day, (everything I bought is ordered and scheduled for shipping-just have to hit the jewelry store and the motorcycle shop) but I go with my sister in law (she has kids) and help her out. I also like going so I can buy something for ME that I really don't need anyway! Anyone else join the madness just for some fun?
  12. This is getting me excited! Now I really can't wait til the first ad shows up!
  13. Jeans, turtleneck, Christmas sweatshirt and tennis shoes. I get my Christmas purse - red with white fur trim on it for that day! Gloves are kept in the truck, don't take a coat though.
  14. Our local Wal Mart is closed Thanksgiving Day, then opens early BF. KMart is open Thanksgiving Day, closes early, then opens early. They have some decent deals on Thanksgiving Day if you feel like dragging yourself in after eating all that turkey!

    Weather?

Last year it was cold here in PA. Husband gets up with me and gets my truck warmed up for me so it wasn't bad going first thing in my morning. I won't wear a coat in the stores, so coming out and getting that blast of cold air almost kills ya. And I have leather seats in my truck (not heated) so when you sit down you get a jolt!
  16. Hello, everyone, I am new to this forum and looking forward to Black Friday. I can't wait to see the ads! I am usually done shopping by then, so BF is my time to treat myself. I can't wait for the madness! My sister in law & I get up and early and head out, usually get home around 5, exhausted of course, drop the bags in the house and then head to my mom's for her town's light up night. Though I am so tired when I get home, I have to go through all the bags and check out my goodies! Happy Shopping to all and Good Luck finding your bargains. (waiting patiently for the ads)
