  1. I have been expecting this for the last couple weeks, so I used all my gift card with the snail mail coupon last week ($20 off each Wii game). I won't pay much attention to CC this BF even my local store is still open. Most of the past BF deals involved rebates. I think it would be very risky to get rebate offer this year. By the way, one of the GC I used was a free gift ($24 value) from CC last BF since they could not find my order. So I almost get the game for free.
  2. I prefer Staples also. As compared to BB and CC, I only have to wait in line from 11pm Thursday night.

LOL. I went there 30 minutes before door open and were among the first 10 in the last couple years.

  3. Unexpectedly, my order of two arrived yesterday. I thought I'll never get it as the credit card number I used has expired a couple months ago. Anyway, it works great considering a 9" photo frame at this price. You can hardly even get a 7" one with all the function of this one at this price. The information on the manual is very poor, but it just took me 10-15min to browse through all the setup on screen to figure out. It does play MPEG1, MPEG2, and MP4 (Divx and xVid) files.
  4. Last time my shipment was stolen in the mailbox. I called them immediately on the ETA date (2 weeks from ordering) and they told me to call back the next day since the day was not over yet. I called again, they told me to call back after 25 days from ordering because of the insurance policy. I called again on the 25th day and they said they will place a refund request but need the approval by the "higher" office and I should be contacted in 3 days. Three days later, I called again and they told me to call my local post office and it may be still on the way as it was within 30 days. Basically, the CSRs (except the second last one) just kept lying and gave different excuse. The second last CSR indeed submitted a request and issued me a case number. I got really mad at the last call and confronted the CSR with the case number for the refund request after her telling me to call the post office. Finally, she validated the refund request and I got a phone message 3 days after the last call that the refund was processed. Since then, I only order in-store pick-up.
  5. I ordered two of those Wheel attachment for WiiMote for $2.99 each on Thursday. I went to pick up today and they found only one. Without saying anything, the manager offer me a $24 GC and refund the missing one. That is my best BF deal this year. :D
  6. The line at my Staples is longer than last year. I arrived at 5:30am and was #35 which is not bad at all. They were late and slow in handing out tickets that they only covered the first 30 people before they have the door opened. After those got tickets went in, the line was stopped at the front door to obtain tickets. By the time I finish shopping, there was still a line waiting outside. I did not buy much in store this year as I was disappointed by the higher prices than other location for identical items. Interestingly, I went online after I got home an hour later, there were still some early bird sale items available such as the external hard drives. Even better, I can get them at the lower price as in other locations and use my $10 coupon received by e-mail a week ago.
  7. I just finished my BF2008 shopping 90 minutes ago. I am pretty happy with my success rate. I shopped at 4 online stores since Wednesday, and hit 4 local stores this morning (all within 3 hours). I would say I got over 90% of the items on my list and spent around $400 (AR) for myself and $180 for my company.

Here is my in-line waiting time:

Meijer: 15min (#28 in line for a $30 OTD 7" LCD photo frame.)

    Staples: 30min (#35 in line.)

    OfficeMax: 40min (#6 in line.)

ACE Hardware: 0min (where is the line?) :D

    :tired: :tired: :tired:

  8. beware false ad on this site it list an compaq for 350 but on the actual site it is not listed

It could be regional. Now that the BF ads are posted at Staples.com, everybody can verify the deals in their area. The hard drives are $5 higher in my area than the ads posted here (which shows the correct prices for other area though). This is a very common practice as there are many state laws that regular prices.

  9. Most but not all were available online. Also the online store opened only an hour or so earlier than the store in Eastern Time. If you are in the other time zone, you may check the web first before going to the store.
  10. I usually do both. Most of the online shopping was done before 5am. Actually, many deals are available online even on Thanksgiving day. Nevertheless, there are some early bird items only available B&M. Not to mention it is a lot easier to do price matching in store with competitors' ads in your hand.
  11. Originally I have no idea where to go first this year as CompUSA has closed and I did most of my BF shopping online before stores opened. However, someone just mentioned Meijer and that reminded me that was usually the place I went first as they open 24hr and the discounts appear in the system before 5am. (If not, I can always go back for a price adjust later before noon).
  12. Two years ago I went to Radio Shack and bought several items that had mail-in rebates. I had terrible problems and never did get all my rebates. AND the portable dvd players quit working within 3 months and Radio Shack would not stand behind the product because I had not purchased the extended warranty (it was more than the dvd player). I have not and will never go into Radio Shack again - BF or otherwise!

I guess they were processed by OnRebate, one of the worse processor. I did get 3 out 3 from them though, but you have to be extra careful and follow the instruction word by word in submitting their rebates. They have very strange rules that can easily invalidate your submission.
