  1. Have you looked into local restaurant assocations or other trade groups, they might be able to point you to resources, or even have a listserv or e bulletin board themselves for that stuff.
  2. Do you need/want a bit higher end than the places suggested? Heard great things about Loehmans and Filenes basement but never had luck there.
  3. There are good deals to be had in Crystal City of Arlington, I used to live there. It is very safe and restaurants in the neighborhood are reasonable.
  4. My sister loves bebe, mainly bebe sport, so this is a helpful thread. Thanks.
  5. Awesome, thanks. Need to hurry up and order before it all gets sold out.
  6. Same here. When Sephora brand items are on the rare in store or online sale that means they are being discontinued. A sales person clued me into that. Luckily bc I stocked up on my fav undereye concealing pencil that way- I bought about 10.
  7. Good to here. I am hoping to look there for camping gear as present for my guy. The camping stuff he picks up at Wal-mart always breaks- same with the fishing gear.
  8. Do you have a Marshalls nearby- I am always seeing piles of jersey sheets there. In pale yellows and blues usually.
  9. Aawh. That is precious- so getting that for the next baby among friends and family.
  10. I've heard of many graphic artists who love the chance to design cards one off- nice break from their day jobs. Also, years ago heard that a newbie card designer gave all services free (card design and materials) in exchange for a small mention of the designer on the back that looks like a standard designer id!
  11. I went to an almost Ivy and I must say there is a bit of odd ballness in those environments. I fit in their a lot better than high school. . .
  12. I like to try shoes on in person (DSW addict) but have heard rave reviews from others about zappos.
  13. This is so perfect, I wanted to get one of these as a present.
  14. Yeah! I'm trying to convert from conventional products, so I am often at a loss about what green brands are good. I'm so glad to get ideas for good products and saving money!
  15. Too bad I missed this- I love IHOP too. There wheat berry pancakes are awesome.
  16. Only had experience with Netflix. Never any problems besides once a DVD came scratched and didn't play at all. I believe the most movies I watch is 2 per week so I don't encounter netflix's issues with limits on movies sent at a time.
  17. The advice here is so helpful. I have a wedding in Cali in the summer to attend. I hate spending money on formal dresses because I only wear them once. I saw a beautiful dress on sale at J Crew but since that is the dress the bridesmaids are wearing (I'm not in the wedding) it is a no go.
  18. Good for you for promoting Good Will. I recently read in a magazine that it is important to give Good Will items that are in decent condition because charities such as Good Will have to pay for removal and disposal costs of items that are not saleable. I'd never thought about this- so from now on am going to check in with the charities about their standards.
  19. Growing up there was only BJ's in my area. Now I live near a Costco- had heard such good things about them for years, including that they get some high-end fancy foodstuffs. Well seems to me that Costco carries a really limited number of brands- BJ's has all the cereals I like, Costco has none. I'm not sure about other items, but I definitely see the disparity in cereal and frozen food. That said, the produce at Costco is always great.
  20. Ha ha, I've gotten my share of weird looks in stores. Usually I'm staring at the prices trying to figure out unit pricing that isn't listed. Target had a Boots, British drugstore cosmetics line, clearance two weeks ago on the East Coast. It looked like all the makeup was on sale but only about half of the bath and moisturizer products. I scored a nice little set of sample sizes of Asian formulations in a take-out food box-- perfect for saving for one of those "oops, it's your birthday tomorrow" acquaintances. Also scored an aromatherapy oil burner for $8.
  21. When I was a kid there was no Best Buy or its kin in our suburb so my father used to go to Radio Shack for a certain type of watch battery. The store was always deserted. He never bought appliances there though- always trekked to Circuit City for that. I'm amazed Radio Shack stayed in business this long as the stores always look dead.
