  1. I just got back from Wally World. NO managers on duty today. Not one! None of the associates know how many of each item are on hand, they don't know the specs on the items, and are not allowed to break open the shrink-wrap to even LOOK at them. That sucks. Number on hand was going to help me decide which store to hit first. Oh well.
  2. Didn't know they did B/F. I'll never buy from them again. Their prices are about average, with super inflated shipping rates.
  3. Our local store had FIVE laptops last year. I'm really glad that wasn't what I was going for.
  4. If you don't want crowds, don't go to south myrtle. North myrtle is better, but still more crowded than we like. We usually go to Carolina Beach. It depends on what you're looking for too. If you like the shops, rides, nightlife, etc. Myrtle would be your best bet. If you just want a quiet setting with beach and a pool, Carolina is for you. If you choose Myrtle, Spring Made Beach is an excellent place to stay. If you go with Carolina, I would just choose whatever is within your budget. Just a couple miles from Carolina is Fort Fisher, with a large indoor aquarium. That's about all there is to do at Carolina. Myrtle is packed with much more.

  6. Goodyear has a promo going now. Buy 4 tires, get $60 off. If you fill out an application for a line of credit (no fee) and are approved, you get an additional $40 off! The credit line gives you two options: no payments no interest for 3 months, or no interest with 6 months equal payments.
  7. No, it's not a percentage. It's actual supplier cost (which is less than what the dealership pays for the vehicle) As an example, the Chevrolet Cobalt has a $500 to $800 markup, so if it's priced at $15000 (sticker) GM pricing would be $14,200 to $14,500. If there are any dealer rebates at the time (usually $500 to $1000 off), that will be deducted also. Markup on the Tahoe is about $4000, the Sierra 1500 has about a $3000 markup, so you could expect to knock that amount off those trucks. Not sure how much the vans run now, but the more expensive the vehicle, the larger the discount. But there wouldn't be any haggling at the dealership, because it IS a set price for each vehicle, and they can show you the price in their GM pricing book. If you want to get an idea, simply choose the vehicle you want and tell the dealer you get the supplier discount and want to know what the price would be on that vehicle.
  8. Wasn't sure where to put this, but I got a coupon from work allowing me to give it to family/friends offering GM supplier pricing on a new car. If you will be purchasing a new car & would like the coupon, just let me know.
  9. The only thing I use my printer for is black & white text for home use. Nothing professional, no graphics. The ink lasts about 6 months, and whenever I run out of ink, I go buy a new printer. (new printer comes with ink) I've never had a problem finding one on sale for $20 - $25, and it's a LOT cheaper than buying ink! The last one I got at target for $20, it was a lexmark z12. (ink is $32) My current printer was free (dell 720)
  10. Sorry guys, I got this directly from Dell.
  11. My local store only had 10 of the laptops. I got there at 4:35 and they were telling everyone they were sold (because there were of course already 10 people in line to get them) But we got everything we went for, except the tv/dvd combo. The line was too long. We wanted to hurry up and get to the other stores. They had a TON of them though, so I plan on going back this afternoon to see what's left.
  12. uhhh....because everyone is getting them at Wal*Mart, from Wal*Mart employees?
  13. ugghhh...! I just sent these ads in, then found this thread with them already posted. and I thought I had something here!
  14. I've been buying and selling on Ebay since 1999. I've only been ripped off once (maybe twice) The first time, I had ordered a set of brand new mint Euros from an ebayer in Italy. They never arrived. He had a very high rating and over the next several weeks went to an extremely poor rating, then eventually was 'no longer a member'. So I'm out eleven bucks...no biggie. The second time, I had sold a brand new pair of shoes to someone in Texas, and they claimed they never got them. This was also the only time I shipped an item WITHOUT the delivery confirmation (as luck would have it). I asked them to give it a few more days, they were very kind and insisted the following week that they never arrived, so I sent another pair. (yes, I was an online shoe salesman for a while) Very unique shoes though, and they sold, but not at much of a profit. So it is possible they never arrived, but I'll never know.
  15. You talking about frozen birds? If so, about .69 to 1.89 a lb, depending on where you go & what kind you get. Each year, I usually wait for the sales. Last year a local store had them for .17/lb as long as you spent $20 on other items (which is easy to do, we can always use a few extra groceries)
  16. I don't do it on PURPOSE, I just grab extra in case I don't get one of the other items I came for, or in case I think of someone else at the last minute. By the time I get to checkout, if I don't need the extra, I'll put them back (of course someone is glad by that point, because they're sold out)
  17. Yes Troll, As a matter of fact it IS fun! I absolutely loved BF when I was working wally world. Now that I get to shop on BF instead, it's even that much more fun. If you think it's so horrible, and can't deal with PEOPLE, perhaps you're in the wrong line of work!
  18. I have a friend that does this for a living. He makes a killing when he takes his trailer to Nascar and does custom shirts there. Quality depends on HOW the picture is put on the item. There are the cheap iron-on styles, screen print, and supplimation (which is best)
  19. A friend of mine always starts the 1st week of November, but then again he does have a million lights (literally). It's funny, we drive through his neighborhood every year to see the lights, and each year, everyone in the neighborhood competes with each other to see who can put up the most extravegant display. Last year they got together and built lighted archways to go across the street.
  20. http://www.allergybuyersclub.com/compare-air.html Try this site for a good comparison.
  21. We have a Fantom Twister Vac & love it. There are some things we would change if doing a re-design, but overall for the price and quality, it's one of the better choices. There ARE better choices I'm sure, but not for under $200. (IMHO)
  22. I've tried several different kinds, but have NEVER been able to tell a difference. Dust collects on the furniture just as much as it always had (if it's not filtering dust I can SEE, how can it be filtering anything else?) Plus the sharper image style 'purifiers' create O3 (ozone) which is poisonous and yes, some are more sensitive to O3 than others and it can make you ill. If it doesn't make you ill, you will still be able to smell it. It's not overpowering, but it does create a slight odor. Some actually find the odor to be 'fresh and clean'. I can't recommend anything other than just cleaning house best you can.
  23. I'm thinking a cruise would be nice! Of course that depends on your budget (maybe you should mention that). A friend of mine got his parents a cruise for christmas one year. His sister asked what he got them, and when he told her, she got upset. She got them T-shirts. Of course he had a much better paying job, so she shouldn't have felt bad for getting the shirts, she purchased within her price range.
  24. Always the week after Thanksgiving. No particular day, just sometime that following week.
