  1. I wasn't going to go out...   but too much family in too little space led me to escape to walmart for some people watching and bargin hunting.

Despite not being there at the start of the event I was able to stroll right back and get the DVD player I wanted.  I walked around and was able to pick up some little things like the socks, promo dvd's, and sandisc,

My walmart had everything laid out according to their map - and for the most part the traffic went along pretty well.  They had yellow tape everywhere marking traffic lanes and helping keep people from jumping lanes.  I heard some people complaining about things like the hot toys being in the produce section.....  but hey, at least it was on the map!

Even the check out seemed to go pretty fast.  Overall a positive experience.... I'm just still not thrilled about the Thursday sales.  I checked it out.  It was ok, but it definitely didn't motivate me to spend any extra money - and I wont be going back for Friday or Saturday sale stuff.....

  2. The full zip hoody's I ordered arrived promptly.  I checked the fabric.  Not super heavy weight - but thick enough, and not the glossy slippery stuff mentioned above.  If they had been of that quality, they would be going back.

All in all I think they were worth the price.  Sizing and texture seem to be fine.  I think my guys will like them.

  3. Their ad is nowhere near as interesting as past years....  and I'm really disappointed that I'll have to schlep over there on Wednesday morning to get the fabric deals.  That's their best seller and I know they won't have much left by Friday.

  4. Yep, they should have seen someone trying to exploit this.

Notice they were quick to close the "loophole" http://www.cnbc.com/id/102199267

Wednesday afternoon, a Wal-Mart spokesman told CNBC that the retailer's policy has been updated as a result of the fraud. The updated policy on Walmart.com notes stores will not honor prices from marketplace vendors, third-party seller, auction sites or sites requiring memberships. "We can't tolerate fraud or attempts to trick our cashiers," Wal-Mart said, in a statement. "This kind of activity is unfair to the millions of customers who count on us every day for honest value."

  5. So from the look of the front page of the ad - the door busters will be available Wednesday?
If that's the case it looks like I'll be waiting Wednesday morning for them to open!

The 75% off the flannel listed is like my BIG purchase every year. I use that to make PJ's for the family for Christmas - and for Linus Project blankets.  If the fabric is available on Wednesday there won't be much left to pick from on Friday!

Anyone have an "in" with Joann that could clarify??
