  1. I think that for that price, it's worth it for my son's who really don't need something expensive just yet.
  2. Both boys want iPods, gift cards, money and video games. They also want the new x-box 360 which they won't be getting unless we win it in a contest, because we already have the other game systems and those games are expensive! Everything else they've asked for, I've gotten already and won't list in the event that they check out this website.
  3. Can't you still order it from the apple store online?
  4. I know how you feel on this. What the seller is doing is making you pay the fees they incur for selling on eBay by inflating the shipping. I used to work for USPS and NEVER used upgraded mailing services on eBay if I had the option of first class. First class mail travels at the same time Priority travels. The only difference is if you have a tracked piece of mail, i.e. delivery confirmation, express, registered, etc., then they are bagged in high profile bags where there are fewer pieces than regular first class and get processed faster, but the difference is sometimes a day at most.
  5. No. I have never opened a gift and re-wrapped it for someone. :holiday02That's cheesy in my personal opinion. I shop and buy each gift especially for the person intended. I have received things that I didn't like/didn't need and given them away, letting the person know that it was something I received from someone and didn't want.
  6. Do you really have to even ask, Brad? I thought everyone should know the answer to this question for me. Check out my avatar! If I had a $100 gift certificate, then I would have to first get the LOST DVD set :clapping:and wear my large shirt while I sit in my favorite chair and watch it. :clapping:The rest of the money would be set aside for season two, once it's released.
  7. Why is it that whenever I click on the MY SHOPPING LIST link, I can't get beyond the information that says I have to register in order to create my list. What am I missing? Please let me know. Thanks!
  8. If you go to the apple store online and put your items in a cart and save the cart, after about two days, they'll contact you via email with a coupon code for $30 off your order. If you have any family/friends who teach, you can get them to purchase your items through their educational discount on-line and save an additional 15-20% off your items. I just ordered my two sons iPods (60 gig and larger shuffle) with personalization and cradles and cases for each and I owe my sister only $510 total.
  9. WOW! Dig Doug is it really fair to say everybody sucks? Sounds like you had a bad experience....we all do. I think the initial vent was a bit over the top, as I've had worse experiences with eBay but I don't say all sellers and buyers suck. I've had some great experiences as well. It's all a part of life and taking the bitter with the sweet. Let it go and move on.
  10. I've gotten half my shopping started and looking forward to the rest of the BF ads to complete it. From my shopping, the oldest son (15) is getting an iPod with accessories, giftcards to his favorite store, Toshiba tv with dvd player, digital camera, HP Laptop (Walmart) and clothes. The youngest son (8) is getting an iPod shuffle with accessories, 8 video games, portable dvd player with case, bicycle, HP Laptop (Walmart) and clothes. They've given me their brief "wish list" which has been forwarded to two family members, so we'll see what else the season brings. Give me that new Bissell Spot Bot and Lost Season One and I'll be happy:holiday10
  11. Wow...I think you'll be inundated with questions now...this site frenzies at times on Walmart. I love Walmart...I'm one of the early birds on line...usually one of the first 20 to rush through the doors on BF. My question is, will I be limited to just one laptop on black friday? As a manager, I'm wondering if you have an inside track on how they'll be handling the distribution of the laptops on that day. My strategy is to have one person on the layaway line and two of us shop, but we need 4 laptops. Will they tell me I can only get one, even if I let them know I have people with me throughout the store shopping?
  12. Any word on LOST: Season One being on sale anywhere?
  13. By noon I hope to be cutting into the wrapping paper and sticking on the bows!
  14. The lap top is what I'd like to get three of (layaway line, here I come), the portable dvdplayer, 3 fisher price animal sounds zoo (gifts), :yay:3 fisher price Noah's arks (gifts), four stick brooms (gifts) and the 40 piece table set are all the items on my list....and a partridge in a pear tree!
  15. This is a new job for me, but I'm pretty sure I'll be off that day.
  16. Still giddy from the Wal-mart ads:eyepoppin rehab won't be too bad as long as I'm out before Thanksgiving. Will you send me a laptop so I can stay in touch with you guys?
  17. I tried the Magic Bullet out at my sister in laws....: there's a small label that tells you it shouldn't be run for longer than 1 minute. Needless to say, 1 minute wasn't long enough to make the slushie they made on the commercial and it overheated and shut off. An hour later, it was working again, but by then the ice had melted. : If I get one, it would just be for the boys to make Kool-aid or something so that they won't be tempted to use my Vita-mix, which they already know is off limits.
  18. I just saw an even better deal!! I was in Wal-mart and saw the dvd/vcr combo for $59.97 or $57.77. Whichever the price, I thought it was a good deal. They had about 300 of them stacked about 7 feet high at the Wal-mart that I visited near my job, here in L.A. and they didn't seem to be going too fast, but then again I don't know if they've had to replenish their supply of what I saw.
  19. IT's like a DOMINO effect!!!!!!!! First Wal-mart and now Toy's R Us!!!!!!!! Whose next? Target claims they never price matched, but I KNOW that I did price match when they first opened in my area. If everyone didn't shop on Black Friday (call me a blasphemer) then maybe these stores would get the message, but I know that there are far too many people who would shop the deals--including me if they were good enough.
  20. In the past, I normally left at 2 or 2:30 to get on line by 3:00. I would hit four stores and be home before noon--only because the car was full or I'd have to go into work for the rest of the day. Former postal worker--sometimes difficult to get the day off.
  21. My worst Black Friday turned out to be my best. One year, my oldest sister decided she wanted to go shopping with me. BIG MISTAKE! She took so long to get dressed that we didn't get to Walmart until 5:25 AM. The line was the length of the building and going across the parking lot. She had left my ads on the counter, after having taken them out of my bag without telling me the night before, to see what was on sale--along with my shopping list. After struggling to find a parking space, I told her I was going to try to get a sales ad from someone, while she headed towards the end of the line. I made it to the fourth person in line, who had a sales ad and offered to let me look at it as long as I stayed there with it. Moments later the police showed up because people were cutting the line as the doors were about to open. The woman with the ad told the police I was her sister and they let me stay, so I went in ahead of the crowd and was able to get more than what I had intended to get and proceed to the layaway line. Once on line, my "sister" from the line showed up and we took turns going back for things. I was able to trade some of the excess game boys that I had grabbed to move up on the line to get out faster. I made it up far enough to get the complimentary hot chocolate and cookies they were serving in layaway that day. As I was leaving, I found my real sister waiting at the exit and she said she'd NEVER go shopping on Black Friday again. We then went across the street where I dropped her off at Kohls while I went to Target. She got everything she had wanted from Kohls plus some other deals and I got everything I had wanted from Target. She says now that she will go with me and wait for me to get on line before she enters the store, because it scared her the way people were rushing and pushing. An old woman got trampled at the Walmart that year as my sister was going in and I think that was what upset her the most. The woman lived, though, but just had a few footprints here and there.
  22. Did he say he worked at Wal-mart? I missed that part....we never heard him say that, did we (Everybody say "No")
  23. I try to avoid carrying cash on me 98% of the time. On Black Friday, I only carry my Visa check card and Mastercard check card. One year, I got the Target instant credit just to get my discount on my BF purchases but haven't used it since. With the check cards, I know going into the stores how much I have to spend and CAN'T go over.
  24. You guys are scaring me now....NO MORE PRICE MATCHES at WALMART?! What is happening with this country?! Looks like I'll be taking a long drive to a big post or flying east to do my shopping!
