  1. Yeah that's basically all I did. It's all in the owners manual I think the "getting started" manual that tells you how to do all of that. With the driver and software recovery cd, you can select which programs you want and don't want to install....so you don't have to have all that HP crap on your computer. :)
  2. When I got my iPod from apple.com (60GB video), it got to my house two weeks earlier than apple.com's estimated ship date....and also it got here a day before FedEx's. It got here in like 2 1/2 days from Shanghai China to Ohio. I'm still amazed over that!
  3. My Walmart laptop is great now! I just got another 512MB of RAM in the thing, making it 768MB now. Also, I reinstalled windows to get rid of all the HP crap that was installed when I bought the machine. I can't stand all the extra stuff that computer companies install when I know I will never use them and all they do is just make my computer slower. My computer is runny very very good right now. I can't complain at all for the price of everything. :)
  4. My Wal-Mart that I went to was very organized and I didn't have any troubles getting the laptop and I didn't hear about a single fight. The Wal-Mart was open all night so you could line up in line at whatever time you want for the big items. They then handed out vouchers at 5AM and then you had to go ring up the voucher slip in the register. After that, you had to show the people your receipt and then you were allowed to take the laptop with you. It was very organized and I was very impressed with everything at my Wal-Mart. They also had a store map where everything was going to be that morning. There was little confusion. There was a line of about 100 people for the laptop around 4:45AM. I was the first person in line.
  5. Yeah I got the same laptop from Wal-Mart (actually typing on it right now!). Go into the BIOS and change the battery setting to performance. My laptop now runs at 1.6GHz all the time. :)
  6. Sorry to hear about that man. I'm 17 also and this was my first BF I have experienced my myself. I went to Wal-Mart to get the $378 laptop. Let me tell you, this little thing is very powerful for the price. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.
  7. The Wal-Mart I went to was open all night. They had card tables setup with the big item purchases (like the laptop, TV's and desktop computer). I got in line for the laptop around 2AM and was the first person in line. They had a store map showing where everything was with the pallets. It was very nice and I was out of the store by 5:05AM. It was the first BF shopping experience I had and it was great. Also, this laptop is very nice for the price! I'm typing on it right now.
  8. I went last night around 11PM to my Walmart to pick up the laptop. I was definitely one of their first black friday shoppers. I didn't have to stay outside though...the SuperCenter is open 24/7 here. I just went there and sat down by the table and jammed to some music. Everyone else started showing up around 3AM. There was about 100 people in line....only 35 laptops were there. I'm typing this from it right now to tell you the truth.
