  1. Last year DH and I bought so much litter. With that and the fancy new cat tower, we didn't both fit in the car! He had to leave me at Starbucks (which was totally fine with me!) while he took everything home. Can't wait to buy for the two new adoptees this year!

I can't be the ONLY person on the planet who loves JCP... can I?

  5. I'm a little more than half done. Just have my parents, my DH, and a couple of co-workers to get gifts for. Oh, and the kitties.
  6. Well, she sent me a Thank You card (the only one I got from anyone) that said she enjoyed it, so I'm guessing she did... in any case, they sell other things. I'm thinking bookstore gift card this year...
  7. They are not allowed to accept cash. They can accept gifts under $20. I gave mine a Starbucks gift card last year. Will probably do something similar this year.
  8. When my nephews were tweens, I gave them gifts that had to do with their "hobby of the month." Gave one nephew a chef's hat, coat, and apron when he was really into cooking. Gave another one a sketch pad and pencils when has was into drawing/art.
  9. DH Mom and Dad Brother Sister 3 nephews 1 nephew's wife 2 great-nephews 2 cats 1 vet hospital and/or animal shelter 1 boss, 1 office manager, 2 employees I supervise All done except DH, Mom & Dad, my boss, and the cats. I haven't spent more than $15 on anyone.
  10. I wish people would quit confusing "buying" Christmas with "doing", "enjoying", "celebrating" Christmas.
  11. We always do buffet (potluck) for about 15-20 people.
  12. I have done many different themes through the years ... Victorian, Santas, Lodge, Cookie Cutters, but finally realized such an "organized" tree just isn't "ME!" Now I have a tree with multicolor lights (and I don't care if there are two blue ones next to eachother) and the good ol' fashioned shiny glass ornaments that I remember from my childhood. My eyes found the themed trees beautiful... but my heart loves a plain ol' Christmas tree. :)
  13. I agree with previous posters on Mannheim Steamroller, John Tesh, and Harry Connick, Jr. but my verrrrrrry favorite is "December" by George Winston.
  14. Maybe you can get a little shopping in before work...? Or just set your sights on cyberMonday.
  15. I usually wear jeans and a holiday sweatshirt. Footwear and outerwear will depend on Mother Nature's mood that day!
  16. Nope! Anything I buy early is always a super great deal. I don't think I tend to overspend on gifts. We probably spend more on activities... everything from stopping for hot chocolate or a meal every time we go shopping to our annual night out at The Nutcracker.
  17. Some of it. Probably not if it's a difficult to wrap item or if it's edible... But, these are things for my DH or the cats. We don't have kids.
  18. It goes in the living room, because that room actually stays clean! Family room and dining room get too much use.
  19. We tend to do it gradually... between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
  20. Everyone finds their way to Mom and Dad's house for a day of games, goodies, and gifts.
