  1. When the new Sims game came out, I rushed to Best Buy to buy it.... but I didn't realize that my little eMachine didn't have the memory to run it. So, it's been sitting (with the game guide) waiting for Black Friday to arrive. I know it sounds selfish...but if I had an extra $500, I'd spend it on myself.

In fact, I'd blow it at Best Buy on one item. The HP Desktop w/ AMD X4, 8GB, 1TB, 20" LCD, Printer for $499.97.

Then I'd spend hours playing my new (well, not-so-new) game and ignoring the dishes, laundry, and dust bunnies.

    Total $ 499.97

  2. I think one item per household on each door buster item .... unless they have alot, then one item per customer, which is what they did this year (at least at my Best Buy), is certainly fair.

If I stand (sit/sleep) for 12 hrs in front of the store -- then I would think I should be able to have the opportunity to get one of each...not just ONE ticket period. I mean we ended up with the $189 eMachine (my Christmas present from my hubby), the HP doorbuster laptop (my parents asked us to get it -- my dad is recovering from a broken hip and fractured pelvis, so camping out would be impossible for him), and my brother asked us to get the $249 Toshiba laptop for him (his stepdaughter is in the hospital with pneumonia --- so he wasn't about to be hanging out any place other than the hospital). If we had to choose, what would we have done? Been selfish and got me a computer? How to choose between mom & dad and brother? I'm so happy we were able to do all three. :bunny:

Anyway -- this is just my opinion. Happy Shopping!

  3. will the items come in seprate boxes and will the cashier ring them up as seprate items. therefore can i tell the cashier forget the monitor and the printer if they apply the rebates to the desktop

    you know, like last year?

We weren't computer shopping last year.... can you get the computer even cheaper if you skip some of the pieces?

    Thanks,

  4. I have to admit that myself and my bro and sis rotate who is outside experiencing the cold. We have two in line, and one in the car warming up, and rotate every half an hour. I can understand the frustration but i think its fair especially for those of us in the North - I live in NJ (fair enough ppl further north can claim its colder) but its pretty bad.

I dont think if one rotates or takes it in turns or have younger children it is unreasonable for them to wait in the cars - the cold can be dangerous, and as long as everyone does their turn in the line i think its fair.

Its the rushers from the back or behind plants or up trees at the last minutes that should be dealt with....

That's what we do too. For the most part we both stand in line, but it's cold, windy, and for the last couple of years, rainy (joy!!), so sometimes we do run to the car and warm up. Nobody has ever said anything...and as a previous poster stated, get to know your neighbors and you shouldn't have a problem.

But those folks who drive up 20 minutes before the store opens and then rush the door....well, they stink!
