  1. Ooo... I haven't made this yet, but I find Two Sleevers receipts to be very reliable. Here is her keto pumpkin pie. Again, I'll probably use Gnom-Gnom's graham cracker crust instead. https://twosleevers.com/low-carb-pumpkin-pie/
  2. Have you discovered chaffles yet? There is a corn bread chaffle which some have used to make dressing with. I made the keto dressing from the savory shortbread last year. While I loved the bread for turkey sandwiches over the weekend, I wasn't impressed with it cubed up and made in to dressing. Others love it though. https://www.isavea2z.com/keto-stuffing-recipe-made-savory-keto-bread/ I'm also going to experiment with This Old Gal's Bourbon Pumpkin Pie Cheesecake. I made it successfully per the recipe before. This time I plan to use Gnom-Gnom's keto "graham cracker" crust for the base, and use birch Xylitol for the white sugar and Swerve brown sugar for the brown sugar. I'll probably add a tiny bit of pure stevia extract as well, since Swerve is only 70% as sweet as sugar. Gnom-Gnom also has a receipt for keto candied pecans, which I use to decorate. I'll give that a try as well. This is what my full carb version of the Bourbon Pumpkin Pie Cheesecake looked like. I'm hopeful ketofying it will work.
  3. I'll ask a question. In the Christmas song game thread, I posted a lyric from a song my high school chorus performed for one of our holiday concerts. Being that it was at least 42 years ago, I only remember the one line, although I do recall the song itself was variations on Jingle Bells sung in the style of different cultures. I searched for the actual title and lyrics, but came up empty handed. None of the other players knew it, although a guess was made at Jingle Bell Jazz, but the link to the lyric is broken, and I don't recall the song being jazzy in any way. I recall it being called something like Jingle Bells Around the World, but all that is coming up is sheet music for an instrumental for symphonic band. The lyric I recall is: On a one horse surfboard sung in a Hawaiian/Polynesian style. Does this sound familiar to anyone? It is now driving me loco.
  4. Again, I'm pretty sure it was Jingle Bells Around the World for vocals, but I'll do another one. Lyric: Forced him to land behind the enemy lines (hint: it's my favorite, especially the 12 minute long version)
  5. I don't recall it being called a jazz piece, but I won't argue. I would live a link to the broken oage, to see if anything else sounds familiar.
  6. Oy! Considering I'm 41 years past high school graduation, can I admit that's the only line I remember? While I found an instrumental Jingle Bells Around the Wirld, I'm positive this was called the sane thing. The line came from the section invoking Hawaiian/Polynesian style. So, what do I do now? Come up with another lyric?
  7. A hint, then. It was a piece I sang with my high school chorus for the holiday concert one year. I'll admit I never heard it anywhere else, but there should be sheet music for it.
  8. Answer: I know this as The Chipmunk Song, but I've heard it called Christmas don't be late Lyric: On a one horse surfboard
  9. I just looked up The Feast is Ready lyrics. They're not a 100% match. I said: Trumpets sound and Angels sing The line in The Feast is Ready is: The trumpets sound, The angels sing So, slightly different.
  10. That's not the song I was thinking of. I never heard of The Feast is Ready. I'll look up the lyrics to see if the same lyric is in there. Gah! I'm singing the line in my head, but the rest of the song is staying out of reach...
  11. Oh, dear Santa fill it wellGive her a dolly that laughs and cries One that will open and shut her eyes (done from memory, no searching) Up on the house top Line - Trumpets sound and Angels sing
  12. Between my bilateral mastectomy in June of 2018, my DIEP FLAP reconstructive surgery in January of this year, and complications from the reconstructive surgery and first revision, I have barely worked these past 15 months and my credit cards are way over spent. Unfortunately, I'm getting by by making minimum payments for now, and paying the interest for doing so. That said, I'll still shop for my loved ones. But gifts will probably be more focused on novelty tee shirts and the like this year. I've finally returned to working, but since I work as a clerical sub for a couple of school districts, it's only per diem with no benefits. Hopefully, I'll be able to start catching up by making double payments starting around the New Year.
  13. Here are pictures from preparation and serving Break Fast.
  14. So, the savory salmon cheesecake is cooked and cooling in the pan.
  15. Once the bone broth is finished, I simmer what I'm using for soup by adding additional aromatics such as a sweet potato, parsnip, zucchini, leek, a whole tomato just dropped in the pot, as well as a fresh onion, carrot, and rib of celery. Then I start adding salt, pepper, etc.
  16. So, for those of us observing, Yom Kippur starts Tuesday at sunset and goes until an hour after sunset on Wednesday. This is traditionally followed by what is called Break Fast. Not breakfast, but Break Fast. It's been a few years since I've done a New York deli appetizing spread, and while I don't keep kosher, hence the mixing of meat and dairy dishes, I think I have a fairly low carb compliant Break Fast planned. I started by making Maria Emmerich's keto bread, which I'm letting sit out a few days before toasting in to bread crumbs. I made chicken bone broth, which I'll be seasoning in to Jewish Penicillin with low carb "matzah" balls. I'll make keto bagels, and serve them with smoked whitefish, home made whitefish salad, and a keto smoked salmon cheesecake, which the keto roll bread crumbs will be used to make the crust. The one questionable keto item is the jar of herring in cream sauce, but I think a few pieces won't hurt. Here are the recipes I'll be using. Keto rolls to be made in to crust for savory cheesecake: https://www.dietdoctor.com/recipes/the-keto-bread Savory Smoked Salmon Cheesecake: http://instantpot.us/smoked-salmon-cheesecake/ Low Carb "Matzah" Balls: https://asweetlife.org/low-carb-matzo-balls/ Keto Bagels: https://alldayidreamaboutfood.com/chewy-keto-bagels/ Whitefish Salad: https://toriavey.com/toris-kitchen/whitefish-salad/ I think I got the appetizing spread keto-fied.
  17. My first Black Friday I decided to go out since moving to the Pacific Northwet, I went about 3:00 am to Fred Meyer. There were cars in the parking lot with engines idling, but no one was lined up. Not having done BF here before, I parked my car and took the first spot in line. Engines were turned off and people started lining up behind me. No one complained about me snagging the first spot in line, and those of us waiting had the typical bonhomie and comradeship of die hard BF shoppers. But, I've felt a little guilty ever since...
  18. As a thyroid cancer and leukemia survivor, I know that September is both Thyroid Cancer Awareness month and Blood Cancers/Leukemia Awareness month. As a 1 year breast cancer survivor, October has taken on new meaning. I'll try to remember January is Cervical Cancer Awareness month.
