Our little ritual of getting the plate of cookies and milk ready for Santa and the carrots for the raindeer. I never picked up on the fact that my dad's favorite cookies just happened to be the kind that we always left out for Santa.

A flash light. I know, weird, but I really liked it. It was a stocking stuffer and I thought I was big stuff to have my own flash light.

I haven't in a few years. We used to go with a group at church.

This is a hard one. I can't come up with 1 particular dish. I love food for the holidays. I must admit that my favorites would be the cookies and candies over the side dishes though. I have a huge sweet tooth and alot of the cookies and candies we only get once a year, at the holidays.

No. Husband does the decorating outside, I do the decorating inside.

Do You have your Christmas tree Lights Flashing or NonFlashing
ajburlingame replied to ohio_gal1959's topic in 2005
I like flashing, my husband HATES flashing. He won this one. -
Most of them hate it. Say it is the 2nd worst day of the year to have to work retail. The worst is the day after Christmas, or so that is what the word is around here.

I am not a big rebate person but if there is a rebate that I see available on an item that I was going to be buying anyway, I definately do the rebate. I just got a little over $15 from Walgreens items that I was there to pick up anyway and then I saw that they had rebates on them :)

Who does the Christmas shopping at your house??
ajburlingame replied to shopping mom's topic in 2005
I do all of the shopping except for a few gifts for our daughter which my husband and I will do together. -
My sister is the only one who doesn't think that I am crazy. Everyone else in my family and everyone in my husbands family thinks I am crazy. I don't hear anyone complaining when they are opening presents on Christmas though!!

I would kill my husband if he did any of those things and if he saw this list, I guarantee that he would try a few of them. He loves to be a cut up.

Thanks for this great post. I still have to decide which camera I am going to try to get on BF. I have never had a digital camera and DH has been really wanting to get one before the baby comes (due 2/7/6) so I thought Santa might put it under the tree for the whole family if he can find a deal on one.

What do you do while standing in line at the store?
ajburlingame replied to sigrist_2000's topic in 2005
Review ads, work on my list, and most of all talk, talk, talk. -
I didn't know that Spencers had a Black Friday ad. I will have to check it out. My niece loves everything in Spencers, even some of the things that she shouldn't be interested in at her age

I have never been to Gymboree on Black Friday. I just might have to check it out this year. Thanks.

Best Buy is the only store that I boycott and refuse to go to on BF. One year we waited in line there for 4 hours to get checked out. I figure I loose out on to many other bargains in that amount of time for anything to be worth standing there that long for.

35-40 miles.

What's the longest amount of time you've ever spent shopping on BF?
ajburlingame replied to MarkRaby's topic in 2005
More than 12 hours......every year. We start at around 4:30 - 5:00 at the latest. We normally get home between 6:00 - midnight. One year we got home at a little after midnight, it was one of the first few years that we went. My husband was worried to death about us. He couldn't believe that we could still be out shopping. Now if we get home before 8:00, he wants to know if we are sick or if something is wrong. The year that we didn't get home until after midnight, my feet hurt so bad the next day that I could hardly walk. All this for the love of bargains :) -
I would go with either Target or Kohls. I always find things to buy on Black Friday at both of those stores.

I look forward to hopefully getting some great bargains at Old Navy.
