  1. Now that you say that I TOTALLY forgot (comes with age ) that I DID PM robosapien last year. Kmart had it on sale for $79 and they were out of them. So I went to TRU to get it full price ($99). Standing in line a woman pulls out her ads and starts getting all these items PM'd. So I was like you do that here?? The cashier said yes, so I set the robot on the counter, said I would be right back, went to my truck, got the ad and had it PM'd. Man I can't believe I forgot that! I gotta get some ginko! LOL

    Weather?

It was cold here So IL, not much snow last year. I LOVE snow! I wish we got more (then I could play more with my truck LOL ). It is the cold that keeps me awake on BF mornings tho. Without it I would sleep thru it too!
  3. I did go to Target last season and they did what they called a "price adjustment" for an item that they had on sale one week after I bought it, but I have never heard of them PM ing either. I worked for them AGES ago (like 13 years ago :) ) and I can't recall them doing it then.
  4. That is sooooo funny!! Sounds like you got one heck of a deal tho!

    just wondering

I don't remember my mom ever talking about it, but have been personally doing it for awhile now. My mom was never the shopaholic though, when we were younger. Of course she loves it now!
  6. I will talk to someone if they talk to me, but usually my mom and I listen in to see if anyone might know if there are limited supplies or where something might be. Always comes in handy when those doors open!
  7. I had to laugh! Our husbands never better get together or we will OWN the light company! LOL As for taking down our deco, we usually take it down the first week of the New Year. Altho, I hate to see them come down!
  8. We got ours several years ago. I love it! It is no hassle, just open the box, straighten the limbs and decorate! I think several stores usually have some on sale for BF. We got ours from Walmart before Christmas but it was a great deal (at the time ). We had found one at Target on display for a better deal, but they were sold out, so we went to Walmart and paid a little more but it was worth it!
  9. All this talk has got me in the mood to decorate my house already!! :) We usually don't decorate and put the tree up til after Halloween and before Thanksgiving, but I am getting anxious! LOL When do you decorate and how far do you go? Does your house look like the Griswald's? Mine is getting there! I seem to add more every year! I seem to get my hubby on the roof every year with a new addition!
  10. I will still be shopping like there is no end! :) Our gas has gone down from 3.09 to 2.88 in the last 2 days, so hopefully it will be more "normal" by then!

    Cut in line...

No way! I have been cut on too many times to do that to someone else. My mom and I just mutter under our breath and try to remember "tis the season!".
  12. I try to get in line by 4 and depending on the sales, home by noon. I get the kids (sometimes hubby too) and back out again. BF is my favorite shopping day of the year! I try to stay out as long as I can! :)
  13. It is so funny you say that because there is STILL an Elvis book in a box in my closet SOMEWHERE that I got 2 years ago for my sis! LOL

    How many...

Definitely roll outta bed, throw on jeans and a sweatshirt/sweater, eyeliner and out the door. I shower the nite b4 and make sure I set out my clothes for the next day. I brush my hair on the way and keep a scrunchie on my wrist for the "in line hairdo".
  15. Are we related?? I sooooo tortured my sis too! My hubby and I have a tradition of wrapping all gifts Christmas eve after the kids have gone to bed. Of course every year we ask ourselves why we waited! But it has been that way since we married (13 years) so no since breaking tradition! (Plus, like booterbunz, I also forget what I buy! )
  16. Even though they weren't specific in their reply, I had asked them if they PM on BF. So I may have to print out the whole email and take it with me on BF to prove it to the checker. LOL Hopefully it won't be that extreme though.
  17. No problem! :) I have become quite the letter writer these days since I can't seem to get answers from local stores. LOL I would definitely seek management on that issue too. Good luck and let me know what they say! I can always write another letter! LOL
  18. I emailed Walmart last Wednesday and got a response back Saturday. The following is the email I received: " Thank you for your message. Wal-Mart will match local competitor's ads for exact items (all things identical, description, brand, etc.) Except: Gimmick Ads (Percents off, buy one get one free, you must make additional purchases to receive a discounted price, etc.) Local competition is usually a radius area around a store and the store manager and the district manager determine this. If you are having problems with price matching, please contact your local store management. Thank you, Customer Relations" So according to the corporate office they do still do it and what distance they go to is up to the local management. Hope this helps!
  19. Elena, Thank you very much!!! I looked thru those and they are PERFECT! It is so hard to buy for an older child, especially when they adore science! Thanks again and they are definitely on my list to get!

    BF Pet Peeves

Hi! I know this is a little off subject, but I noticed you said your husband is in Iraq. My brother just got back last year from there and may be deployed again b4 this year is out. I just wanted to say hi and let ya know I hope he comes home safe! :)

    BF Traditions

Does anyone have any BF traditions they do every year? Like me, my sister and mom go to the first store to wait in line, get our stuff then go sit at the same restaurant every year, recoup then march out again. We go through ads and horror stories over a cup of coffee. Just to step out of the chaos for a minute. It helps us to focus and head out to the crowds again. :)
  22. All my daughter (11) has talked about is Pixel Chix and getting those cell phones they advertise for kids. But those only have a 2 mile range and her best friend lives 5 miles away. LOL So we will see about that one! My son (14) is into science so I will be looking for science related items that are "old" enough for 14! He also likes to play his PS2 and Gamecube so games are a given! :)
  23. I am the same way. Unless it's a big item, I usually use cash. I do take my plastic with me just in case though!

    XBOX Price Drop???

Haven't heard but that would be nice! I do know I read there MAY be a shortage of 360's shipped out this year. I read on CNN Money that analysts are predicting less product will be shipped than as first thought. So maybe that will tempt them to lower the price of the older model! My son would love that! :)
  25. I did that two years ago and just swept up every roll of wrapping paper I could get my hands on! I STILL have enough paper for this year! LOL I thought my hubby was going to kill me! But he doesn't say a word when we don't have to buy wrapping paper at full price! I am hoping to take advantage of the sales after Christmas this year again so maybe I can get enough for another two years! :)
