  1. I have had so many horrible online ordering experiences with Disney that I no longer will shop with them, and have unsubscribed from all their offers. "Cart empty" after spending a half-hour filling it, discounts not being applied, inability to log in (and I have all the lithos also, going back to Lion King), nonexistent customer service -- you name it. What a crummy place. At the other end of the scale, thanks to this forum, I had EXCELLENT ordering experiences this week with classiccloseouts.com and kidssurplus.com. Prompt e-mails and shipping notifications, and everything was exactly as described and ordered.
  2. I got ya beat. I have a NEC 20-inch TV I bought for $400 in 1988 ... it WILL NOT DIE!!! We only want one TV in our house, and I can't justify buying another one when this one works perfectly well. Every now and then I think the picture tube is beginning to blow, because we'll see a slow ooze of green on one side of the screen. But it always goes away. I think it's a self-healing model. Go figure. NEC TVs totally rock. I wish they still made them.
  3. Nope, I don't think showing up at 9 p.m. is gonna work this time. I also live in a small town and there were seven people in line already at 3 p.m. My husband is now number 8. Thank God he only has to wait until midnight. The store people told me on Monday there were 15 boxed up in the back. People in the line tell my husband today that they were told there are 50. I think somebody misheard....I think there are only 15.
  4. Heck, why not push it back to before Labor Day? Then I could get back-to-school shopping done, both my kids' fall birthdays done, AND Christmas!! (It is getting a bit ridiculous to see Christmas stuff up in October....)
  5. Oh, and all the Halloween candy is 50% off. Why don't they just mark it right back up to regular price again? I'm not talking the Halloween-specific things, like candy corn and specially designed packages of orange and black M&Ms or something -- ALL of it in the Halloween section is 50% off. Such a deal!
  6. Those Asian-themed thingies (silk-covered Chinese "take-out boxes" -- good for teens to keep their "valuables" in, though they're probably too large for stocking stuffers, as well as little sake sets and chopstick resters, that are all good for all kinds of boudoir table storage) -- all rang up at 62 cents apiece!! I also got cute little Halloween tin pails, one painted like a skeleton, the other like a scary pumpkin, both nodding on springy feet, for 62 cents apiece. (Then I blew the savings on a full-price baby gift/bag. Sigh. Gotta plan better...)
