  1. My son has pretty much abandoned the PS3 for Steam. Still uses it for Netflix and occasional gaming. He hasn't requested the PS4, but a Steam controller and Steam credit.
  2. Our Target had 27 netbooks. Everyone there at opening got one (about a dozen people). Only one in line for the DSi, so no problem for her. They did not have the netbooks out. Just had everyone line up at electronics and they pulled them to directly at the register. Had the sleeves behind the register as well.
  3. The 50% on the second top is automatic. Thank you!!!!!!!! to all posters. Just got 2 sweaters, a pair of sweat pants (XXS/Short which is not easy to find at B&M) and a flannel for under $70 including tax and shipping. I am now officially done with my daughter's Christmas!
  4. Saltine Toffee 1 sleeve of saltine crackers 1 cup butter 1/2 cup light brown sugar 12 oz semisweet chocolate chips 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper, folding the edges up so the sides are covered as well. Lay the saltines in a single layer on the parchment paper. Melt butter and brown sugar in a medium saucepan over medium to medium-high heat. Bring to a boil and cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Adjust temperature as necessary. Pour butter-brown sugar mixture over the saltine crackers. Spread the mixture evenly, working quickly as it will begin to cool. Put jelly roll pan in over and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the pan from oven and immediately sprinkle with the chocolate chips and chopped nuts. Press lightly. Put the pan into the refrigerator and refrigerate for one hour. When the bark has finished cooling, remove the pan from refrigerator. Using your hands or a pizza cutter, break or cut the bark into pieces. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. If layering the bark, place sheets of waxed paper between the layers to prevent sticking.

  6. For the last several years, I've taken my daughter out with me. It's become a really fun tradition for us. This year, we were discussing visiting family for Thanksgiving out of the state and her first reaction was that we'd miss our shopping day. I assured her the stores in other states would be participating as well!!
  7. This is what our crafty kid uses the most: those scissors that cut funky googly eyes in all sizes craft sticks puff paints blank colored greeting cards fusion beads (the ones you make into shapes and then fuse together with the iron)

    Second to Toby Mac!!!
  9. We always take a nice box of candy (See's or Godiva), a poinsettia/holiday bouquet or a coffee gift from Starbucks (they usually have a couple of pounds in a nice box). We try to make it consummable, since you can't always guess someone else's taste.
  10. The Battling Robots on page 4 are $20.99 on Amazon right now.
  11. My son plays with these all the time. You do not need the arena. Basically, the balls and the cards. Some cards are metal and some are not. They only open on the metal ones (I believe all balls come with at least one of these). The non-metal are for enhancing the "battle." The series are not important. Get something to keep them in, like a tin or ziplock (it need not be "Bakugan" themed!), because they are really small and pets think they are fun. Or, you can stick them all on your refrigerator like we did one day (they are magnetic and this makes them open up and stay there).
  12. I got this, too, but thought the fine print had some limits different than usual. I don't have mine with me. Maybe someone else could check.
  13. Liquidators do this all the time. They put other merchandise in the store they are liquidating and it is almost always paintings and rugs. This happened at a local store that never had those things before as well as some other events I've been to.
  14. We get the limit on whatever is free or really low cost and drop what we don't need in the collection bin at Staples. I think it has a picture of Jordin Sparks on it and goes to underprivileged kids in the community.
