Eventually I did. I first searched for "unlocked GSM phone" and a lot of L6 & L7 SLVRs came up. I found one with reasonable shipping, and I won the auction. I bought for my upcoming trip to Spain. I figure that if I want I can always sell it when I get back for almost as much as I paid. Either that, or I'll use it with a different SIM chip for when I go to Canada.

I third the recommendation. I think my favorite aspect of it is that it can control an ipod remotely via the new dock.

Yeah from what I've read Canon has the best image quality. But I do like the Casio form factor.

I know there was a digi-cam thread below, but I want to be more specific since I'm looking for a camera to replace my now busted Optio S4. There are several out there (Casio, Canon, Pentax, Nikon, Sony) and I don't know which to get. Any suggestions? On the only specs I have are at least 5 MP, have an optical zoom, and preferable be less than $350.

Cuz you're getting a sweet remote for less than 1/3 of MSRP, AND it will get rid of remote clutter. What more could you ask for :)

I control my Vizio 42" plasma, my onkyo receiver and dvd changer, my digital cable box, my VCR (I think - never actually tried it yet). They all work like a charm.

Thanks for the info Ross. I was x-shopping the XPS M140 and the Inspiron E1505 for a friend of mine. She basically wants a larger version of my wife's 700m. She's not a gamer at all, which is why I was leaning towards recommending the Insprion, but the XPS prices seemed comparable.

How do the XPS notebooks compare with the Inspiron notebooks?

I had an experience where it took several weeks to get a credit back from Dell. It came, but it took far too long.
