  2. Okay. Thanks for the opinions. Yea you are right that it is a Hot Deal forum. Scratch this idea, on to the next.
  3. Can you expain where to find that at? Thanks! Update: Never mind. I found it. Thanks!
  4. Hey thanks! I looked at Sears.com and they had a good one! Farmer Macs Talking Farm Playset. It is attachable to wooden train sets. Which I bought her a wooden train set from Target for 19.99. Now I just hope they carry it in the store. I will call the local one and another one in Iowa City. I don't have a KB toys nearby anymore. I am still looking until I find 'the one'. Keep your ideas a coming, pretty please with sugar on top!
  5. Hey another Cedar Rapidsian! Yahoo! I was planning on checking Theisen's tomorrow and might as well check Rainbow Toys while I am near there. Though I have always found they are a bit overpriced. I looked online at The Learning Ladder, will have to try to call them. Thanks!
  6. Glad everyone is getting there orders. So what did you buy?
  7. Yea, my mind is working very hard. lol I got another suggestion/idea What about having either a forum or a thread titled and for 'guy stuff' and one for 'girl stuff'. Not that either sex is banded from it, just so others feel at ease a bit when they are discussing things. For instance say a (not picking on anyone, just an example) single dad wanted to find other dads opinons on how to discuss _whatever__ with their kid/kids. Or if a guy don't have any kids and doesn't want to see a bunch of posts regarding kids. (not saying guys don't discuss them, just stating that mom's usually do frequently, and not saying all women are moms either) Another example if a woman wants to discuss a female problem <probably not here, but you never know> and would like advice she could post in the 'girl stuff' and not worry about bombarding the guys. Sorry so many what about all the side notes, I just want it clear that I am not referring to any post/person/thread/forum in particular. This entire post is IN GENERAL. What do you all think? Bad Idea Good Idea Okay but need to change this And for the moderators Is it even possible/doable? Ta,ta!
  8. Duh me. Thanks for reminding me gemini to tell you guys where I have looked. These are the local stores, but if you find something in the ones I post let me know and I will call surrounding areas, as I am willing to drive a bit for this. I've tried: Walmart (nada) Toys R Us (they had either a little tykes or fisher price one but it was more for a 1/2 yr old and it was $35 and was only the barn and like 4 figures, not worth it to me) Target (the only thing I found was $7 clearanced but was VERY cheap material wise, very cheap plastic stuff and ugly. lol) Kmart (nada thing)
  9. I have a suggestion. On our member pages (have you looked at yours???) There is an area at the bottom where other members can leave a 'Shout Out' or in other words comments on your page. But it only displays the last 5 or 6. Is there a way that we could get a PM every time a shout out is posted on our page? Is that possible to set up?
  10. Help. My youngest dd, bday this Saturday, wants a Farm Set. Does anyone know of a store that I can go to in person, NOT ONLINE PLEASE unless it's a super hot deal. I would like it to be under $30, but a little above is okay. The kind I am looking for has a barn, some animals, maybe a fence or a tractor. Not too particular just looking for something similar. Thanks for any and all help I get!
  11. Let's see if I can remember what I got. I got this toaster from my Mom for Christmas http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=2077729 GE Classic 4-Slice Toaster (it is wide enough to toast bagels, as I am a huge bagel fan! And this was the only thing I told her I wanted.) My Mom also got me a wooden newspaper holder, you know like you set on the ground next to the couch. (it was used, but trust me there is no sign that its used) The BEST Christmas gift I got was from my kids. Our neighbors took their picture, the kids told them my favorite color (hunter green), and the guy made the candle. This was 100% total surpise! They've never done this before. Here's a pic: http://www.geocities.com/noehlp/candle1.JPG I also got like 7 homemade Christmas ornaments the kids made at school, which are also GREAT! Some green from 2 grandmas and some from a good friend. Overall had a great holiday.

  19. No guarantees it's in your store, but very worth checking. B/M Today at Toys R Us in Cedar Rapids Iowa I got: Barbie Electronic Shopping Cart Here's a link on Amazon to see what it looks like, but remember this price I got was IN THE STORE: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002FYR20/qid=1136342324/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/104-8297921-2367160?v=glance&s=toys From the Manufacturer The Barbie "Scan 'N Play" Shopping Cart includes 30 peices of interactive play food packages that can be scanned and recognized, and features exciting technology like the interactive touch-pen and a screen built into the cart. Cool speech and sound effects add to the fun. Normally: $69.99 Clearanced at : $13.98 I saved $56.01 (I about sh*t in my pants when I saw the price. My dd who turns 5 on Saturday has wanted this since it came out) I hope some of you are as lucky as I was. Between this and my freebie I got from ALL YOU (check the freebie board) I couldn't have asked for a better day, heck even a better week or month!

  23. Great clearance prices at Mikasa.com http://www.mikasa.com/control/category/~category_id=CLEARANCE Though you do have to look through them and some are out of stock, but just keep looking. Towards the last few pages, they even have a 16 piece dinnerware set for $19 and change. Personally I love Mikasa. Just can never afford it, and the only things I saw that caught my eye were out of stock. Good luck, hope this helps someone.
