  1. They just adjust normally and have their own special hours for each sale. It is always best to contact your local store because I've learned each WalMart has had different times over the years.
  2. All the stores in Mass do everything different. You need to speak to your local store manager at each store to find out the exact opening. For example, I live in Ludlow, MA and always go to Chicopee Wal-Mart. Rumors were circulating that the store was opening at 12:30 am last year. As so, people lined up extremely early and waited for hours. However, I had spoken to an associate prior to the sale and he stated they were not opening doors until 4 am the earliest. You really need to find out for sure the times whichever stores you plan on going too as it can be a confusing day and you could lose out on products u may want.
  3. I feel for all you guys when it comes to these odd openings. It actually benefits us in here in Mass because they can't open at 10 PM or Midnight and have to open at a set time. Last year was alot of confusion and people got in line early thanksgiving thinking they were opening early and when they didn't, these people left and made it easier for us who actually knew. Same thing will happen this year ..people will see the ad saying all these times, but won't read the fine print stating *Check your local store for hours*..as they missed last year. When I arrived last year at Wal-Mart the line was half the size I had seen it the year before and most associates said it was due to the time problem.
  4. So being in the weird state of laws in Massachusetts, this 12:01 am start was a mess. I was told by the store in Chicopee that they would be opening the doors at 12:01 am, so I said awesome thats where i'll start. Wanted alot of the $29 games and Blu Rays. Get there at 11 and was probably 60th in line. They have barricades set up, but nobody is using them nor is there any security or police outside. Line starts getting bigger and bigger and by 11:50 its about 250 people deep. At about 11:55, security comes out and decides to move everyone into the barricades - obviously making it a mess as people cut and ran to get to the front. So 12:05 comes around and still nothing. All of a sudden an employee comes out of the store to see a family member and states they will not be opening until 4am. Not 12:01, not 12:05, not 5 am - but 4 am. Of the 250 people, at least 75 of them just left. People were told the same thing I was told about the store opening. VERY VERY disorganized and unplanned and they need to get the facts straight to the public here if they are going to open at a random time that is not in the ad. Anyways, ended up at another Walmart down the street around 10 am - and I was shocked to see what they had left at 10 am - Everything on the front page except the laptop - tons of the DVDS and $29 games - lot of the toys/pjs - kitchen items - it was like they got too much stuff (this store just got remodeled to a super walmart, but does not do that much in business). I know Wal-Mart tryed something new this year with the earlier opening, but from what I can tell and read, more people were pissed or angered or disappointed with this new system then they were happy and I would really hope Wal-Mart rethink this new approach next year. Hope everyone had a great day and got what they wanted/needed!:)
  5. Ya I figured as much..I live in Ludlow, right next to the Chicopee Super Wal-Mart. Gotta love Mass!!! Least makes it easier to go there at 5 and can get both sales at same time
  6. Nice info! Ya I live in one of those weird states with quirky laws about not opening on Thanksgiving and stuff like that. I live in Massachusetts, so hopefully they will follow thru with the midnight opening.
  7. This is probably the weakest Black Friday ad I have seen from Best Buy in a long time. I know they no longer have to compete with Circuit City these past few years, but cmon..alot of these are sales they have had recently or are now - nothing blowing you out of the water. Wal-Mart is probably seeing this and glowing knowing their ad will probably destroy this. I do hope Best-Buy does the "unadvertised specials" they have done before..
  8. My local Walmart had over 75 Magnavox Blu-Ray players left, 15 or so of the Emerson 42" Plasma and about 30-35 of various other TV's. Had a pallet full of Dirt Devil and about 6 pallets full of kid's toys in one long aisle. Odd to see that much carried over.
  9. You know whats funny, is at my local store, they actually are putting almost all of the items in one row in an aisle between the food and clothing..just like last year. This was horrible as someone passed out due to the large crowds and ambulances had to come. I can see it being a disaster yet again..
  10. I agree, last year at my local Target, 2 people were in the video game aisle and they had to unlock the doors for you. When they did, other people would try and grab games making it a cluster.
  11. Of course us people who live in Mass still have to deal with the damn 5 AM opening..stupid Blue Law
  12. I think you may have been looking at the Rock Band Beatles or maybe Band Hero/DJ Hero Special Edition because I think the Original Rock Band is only $99.99
  13. I shop at the Chicopee, MA one..and I was told it basically the usual..line up outside and open at 5am....
  14. I was wondering the same thing. I spoke to someone at a local Walmart and she stated because of the laws they weren't opening until 4 maybe 5. Any way we can get clarification on that maybe for us Mass folks? ...Damn state laws
  15. Past few years at the local Walmart in Holyoke, MA..they follow WalMarts past setup with pallets down one long aisle. They had a lot of the major tvs, appliances, toys there. However, after last years incident in WalMart, things could change. They did not have a ticket system either.
