  1. My dd celebrates this at school, she goes to a catholic school. This year, on Dec 5th, every students brings a shoe or slipper to be left overnight at school and when they come into school on the 6th, their shoe/slipper is filled with candy/treats. Very cute, she loves it.
  2. I believe the Peanuts snoe globe inflatable is part of the BF sale at Sears, for those who are interested. I like them, but my electric/gas bill is high enough with just Christmas lights and our regular heat bill, I could only image what it would be with one of those inflatables. Does anyone have experience? Do you notice a big difference when you have that plugged in for however many hours that you do?
  3. Glad to see others are like me. I will be going from taking the spider webbing from Halloween off my shrubs to putting up my Christmas lights, BUT I will be doing it in a short sleeve shirt
  4. We always have put it in our living room, but we have moved since last Christmas and now I plan to put it in the family room where we spend all of our time. I will put a little 3' tree in the living room on the table so from outside front of the house you will see a tree lit (which to me completes the look.)
  5. Thanks everyone for the insight. I am hoping that this year isn't the year, but I would like to be prepared just in case. I feel like once they know it's innocence lost. It also means that they are gettting too old!
  6. Anybody else who lives up North (well, not that north, but I'm in New Jersey) thinking of putting up their Christmas lights this weekend outside. I was thinking about it because it is suppose to be like 70 degrees and I hate to put up the lights when it is cold out, dh doesn't really help it all falls on me. I might put them on my tree and shrubs in the front, but I don't turn them on until Thanksgiving weekend! Will I look like a nut?
  7. We have a Disney tree also. Last year we had a 7' tree and we have ornaments that don't even make the tree, but we have moved and I bought a 9' tree last year after Christmas, so I will have a 9' Disney tree. I have a Pooh dressed as an angel tree top and a personalized Disney tree skirt. I also have a Disney village with the houses and everything that we put up. This will go in the family room in the back of the house. In the front of the house I will have a smaller tree in my living room with a Lenox theme. I have quite a bit Lenox ornaments because my dh works for Lenox, so this tree will feature the 12 days of Christmas ornaments and such.
  8. We buy. We will buy Bonnie (our dog) a bag of treats and Simon (the Guinea pig) is getting a new igloo this year - he's basically eaten the doorway to his old igloo.

I believe the radio station in town starts on November 1st which is tomorrow!!!! I can't wait.
  10. I am not sure if this has been asked yet, so I can use some help. Please tell me when the kids start to ask "the Santa question." My dd is 9 and is in 4th grade. I am expecting to be asked "the question" real soon, but maybe I am wrong and I still have another year. How do you handle it? I don't want to lie, but I still think that I might want to ! Please share your experiences with this unwelcomed situation....
  11. I got the email with the coupon for the Family and Friends night too. Just wanted to add that there was another coupon on the same email for the Family and Friends at KMart this sunday, but it is for all day. Just looked again and the Sears 10% off was also good on Lands End stuff - a rare thing I believe.
  12. My team is Man Utd, I am a Ruud fan, but my dh is an Arsenal fan. DS who is 4 likes Chelsea, he can recognize that team when they are playing. I have a bid on a Lampard kit, should know I think by Sat if we won that one. Also planning to purchase some posters for his room, possibly the Chelsea team poster and Lampard - won't mind looking at him every night when we put ds to bed. I do like the Old Trafford poster, might purchase that for our master bedroom bath - it's like a little cell. Since our house is new, thought that I feature a "football" bathroom.
  13. I have to admit I firmly believe that they purposely get leaked ! I could be wrong, but being as stubborn as I am, no one can convince me otherwise. The earlier they are out there the more people who know about them, the more people that are coming into their store and the more profits for them assuming that you are buying other than that one door buster and most probably will :gd_dollar Being a planner by profession and in personal life, I live for this crap!!!
  14. Last year I got dh a radar detector for his car, he loves it - he said best gift ever. He is not some speed demon or anything but he drives about 20 miles to and from work and it is all highway. Keeping up with traffic in NJ is basically going 10-15 miles over the speed limit, plus it is a gadget, so of course he loved it!
  15. Wow, this is my first email on gottadeal. I've been coming here for a few years now, but always just lurked. Anyways, we will shop ebay because our family are fans of English Football and I will not pay the price that the catalogs and stuff want me to pay for a jersey or kit for the kids. It would cost at least $70 for a jersey give or take. We buy from Europe and Mylasia and we pay about $25-$30 which includes shipping. carone
