  1. CompUSA :confused:Just wondering as they have opened actual stores again in the North Texas area and I'm looking for pc components as well as other electronics. Fry's never posts an add early, just the newspaper add in Friday's paper and I really dont like going near that place on BF. Made that mistake once before.
  2. with past years as my marker, if you want something thanksgiving night or midnight, you may need to plan on late Wed. afternoon.
  3. Honestly, i'ts a tradition my wife and I started way back when camping out at 2 or 3 got you at at the begining of the line. Kid free time to plan and act like kids ourselves...
  4. It has been on the local news that several of the major retailer are going to offer lawaway this year. BB, Walmart, Sears,Kmart are just some of the ones listed...has anyone heard this as well...?
  5. Like Big Jim, I live in Texas and although the weather doesn't always cooperate, I have been camping out for BF since early 90's. I can remember going to BB at 2 am and being in the first 10 in line. Wow how times have changed. Most of the kids are grown now so we just do it to hang out with friends and make new ones. There always seems to be something that will make a great gift or two and like I said it is a TRADITION.:)
  6. We've been goin since early 90s. Really not as fun as it was then but still die hard
  7. same here in the DFW area...most are 24/7-364... they just roll the pallets out about 3 and rope off the lanes. 5am the plastic comes off and the stampede begins.......
  8. my walmart clearenced out all the unsold bf items on Sat. doorbusters were selling for pennies on the dollar. made out graet on an unplanned stop!!!!
  9. wow... we were 1st in line @ our BB and everyone in the store knew us but didn't get any kind of discount. Big Jim has a cool manager...too bad he's on the other side of town.
  10. target was a zoo this year ...still I got what I wanted for the most part
  11. My congrats to all who were able to get the items they waited for. Not unlike Big JIm, we had a camp out routine @ our store as well. 4am Thanksgiving morning set up tent and camp( group of 4) 5am next in line shows up 8am Part of the group goes home to cook T-giving dinner for all--line about 20 deep 8am line wraps around building. next guy in line brings battery powered tv and we watched Cowboy game in snow and sleet. 1am employees start to filter in 2:50 line starts to bunch in anticipation of tickets and a fight breaks out(police not here yet) 3:00 am -- tickets handed out and line starts to disperse when all handed out. 4:45am PSA opens lounge for our appoiuntments. 5:00 store opens and we check out and leave for Target 5:15 in line @ Target 5:45 they hand out tickets for big TVs and Xbox Halo 6am STAMPEDE---everyone runs to electronics and the battle ensues 6:50 on the way to Walmart 7am in and out with small add ons 8am --SNOOZING @ home
  12. Due to the high demand of the TRS zune, I wonder if office max or Walmart will price match as both have it in stock????
  13. Have scheduled my appt for this year already. Some stores in DFW area have been taking appts for awhile now I just found from my PSA. Glad I got mine taken care of.
  14. I plan on going to the one in Grapevine/Southlake. Went there last year and worked out ok Didn't use PSA then so maybe ot will be better this year?????
  15. I'm concerned about what time the lines are going to form this year. Weather looks great this year and we seem to go earlier every year. Also not sure if PSA is going to help if BB wont match other BF ads. Nice to go to one place for most everything.
  16. might be due to Kohls have this item on sale and BB is ready to match??????
  17. Welcome....If you mean the store off 114 and 26, I waited there last year and will be there this year as well. It's well lit and the folks were nice enough and it's located accross from several other stores that you can get to and do other shopping without to much travel. They do offer the PSA program, my appt. is at 5am. Call and set something up. They have slots left. See Ya there Green Eyes
  18. Last year we were in line by 10 pm on Thursday and were about 10 people back and we live in the DFW area. This year, I expect to do the same. Hope the one hour earlier open doesn't mees me up too much. BB has always been very good at tickets and crowd control for the 5-6 years that I've been going.
  19. I stay west of the metro area, west of the Speedway. The closeest BB are Southlake or Lake Worth. Went to Southlake last year but have been at the Hurst location all years previous. No bad experiences at any location yet. Haven't tried PSA yet but hope to this year.
