  1. I think a Keurig B60 for around $50 after Kohls Cash and Chase cash back were all calculated. My wife and son use it every day. I think they'd agree it was my best BF purchase ever! I'm fond of the discounted Visa gift cards from OfficeMax last year. Discounted money is always good. My daughter would say the cake pop maker I got for her at Kohls last year for $5 or $10 after rebates.
  2. WM had people lining up, and it worked at other stores. It was just the animals who were at that particular store who decided to rush in through a different door. Sadly, those animals were not held accountable for their actions because you can't arrest a mob. As others have said, people who rush in are not necessarily going for the electronics, so tickets would not necessarily help.
  3. The person you were responding to never said that they had a gift receipt. And how do we know that the person who gave them the gift didn't pay $50 because it was on clearance? How much less did they try to give you with your gift receipt? Did you get Kohls Cash with the order? They will deduct that from the return in some cases (there are a whole separate list of rules for KC). Their registers handle the returns, it is not a matte of individual store policy.
  4. That isn't it. The sale one is the 1202, not the 1201. Here's the link for the bundle. But its not available for ordering. I looked last night and did not find it but this morning checked the list of desktops and it was there (but not orderable at 7am): Link
  5. It's finally showing up on their website but it's not orderable. I'm not happy.
  6. Or cannot follow instructions or think they know better and make mistakes. That said, many rebate companies stack the deck by invalidly rejecting claims, or simply never paying them. You need to learn which ones to avoid and go after the companies that reject your claims.
  7. At least some of their rebates can be submitted online. And their rebates are much better than they used to be.
  8. They've done that for several years but I don't see it in their ad this year (at least not the one I saw a couple of weeks ago, have not looked recently). As a result, I won't be hitting Sears until later in the morning.

Sorry. My crystal ball is broken thus I am unable to answer your question.

    instore pick up

That's not really true, but CC's website seems to automatically shut items down for online ordering once it hits a certain level. I find that I stay on Wednesday night waiting for stuff to go on sale. Then I sleep a little late on Thanksgiving and find that I've missed the CC deals when I finally go online. I need to go to sleep earlier and wake up early to get them, then I can avoid the store. I do know that they don't do in-store pickups on Black Friday morning. Not that you'd want to, anyway. My local CC store was awful last year. The lines were terrible because they still have the old register system that takes forever to print receipts. Maybe with less rebates this year it won't be AS bad.
  11. True, but I also notice that many things that used to be free after rebate are now $5-10. I guess that's good for some people. Not for me.
  12. CompUSA is MUCH better about rebates than they used to be. They also have their equivalent of Easy Rebates. I am fairly sure you are talking about several year old experiences with CompUSA and continuing to spread fears about them as a result of that makes no sense.
  13. I see no $10 gift card in the ad scans. That means I do not have to waste my time at Sears and the mall and can go right to Staples and Circuit City and avoid being shut out there.
  14. None of them are. The really good stores honor the pricing errors, but the problem is that they can get hammered on these errors these days since word spreads quickly and lots of orders get placed.
  15. Well, I am sure that places had them on sale, but I'm not sure about 50% off. I wonder if WM will PM to a price on the TRU website? The item my son wants is there and I could print out the 50% off sale price once it is reflected there.
  16. Yes, and the "gift cards" (which are not and do not operate as gift cards, they are coupons) will state that they are not valid with any other offer. Last year, they put entire departments on sale for 20% off until noon (or whenever the $10 coupons expired). You could not use the $10 coupons in those departments (which included kids and juniors, amongst others) because you were getting 20% off, thus severely limiting the usefulness of the $10. I see they have lots of 20% off departments in the list posted here, so forget about using the $10 on any of that stuff, again. I know we were not the only unhappy customers about this last year, and it's sad to see that they did not learn from their mistake. At the time, I discovered that math skills were not a requirement for Macy's managers, because I was told that 20% off was a better deal than $10 off (I don't think so -- especially on a $10-12 item!). My son (14 at the time) emailed corporate to complain. They responded similarly, telling him the coupon was valid on plenty of things. I then wrote back and told them off, and they sent us both $10 coupons. Amusingly, they had the same restrictions, and we had to find something without the discount to use them on. Did I mention that we hate Macy's? I miss Filenes (as I'm sure many of you miss the other old May Company stores).
  17. I can get 20% off (and off a price that is probably already less than the Disney Store) free shipping and no sales tax at Deep Discount DVD through Wednesday. I'm looking for BF blockbuster type pricing.
  18. And what's the status of it when you track it online?? And is CompUSA paying it or Emachines?
  19. Certified mail for rebates (unless they are really large) is a terrible waste of money. The allegedl expert who suggested that in a column should be fired. The vast majority of rebates that don't show up are rejected because of an error (real or imagined) on the form, and certified mail is useless for that. And for the small number that the claim never showed up, I've only had one situation where they refused to take a photocopy. And yes registered mail is very expensive but it is never needed for stuff like rebates.
  20. CompUSA's own rebates are now submitted online (like Staples) so they are among the best. And the odds are that the rebate(s) you had problems with were from manufacturers, NOT CompUSA. So you're only hurting yourself avoiding CompUSA. And of course here we have another story of someone who got a rejection and apparently did nothing about it.
  21. Very few rebates are NOT limited to one per customer. Read the form before mailing to make sure you can file more than one. If you feel you want to submit both, send it to a friend or relative and by all means do NOT buy them both on the same receipt. By the way, what did the rebate house say when you called to ask about the second one?? You did call, right? I find that most customers I read about in these "I hate rebates" articles say "it never showed up". But no one ever bothers to follow up. Make copies of everything, track your rebates online, and call if there is a problem.
  22. Best Buy stores are always busy so there must be plenty of satisfied customers. I don't believe the online ratings for big chains. The only people who go there are people who are unhappy so they are not real numbers. They're certainly not perfect but they are far from the worst. I was actually pretty happy with their own rebates (mailed to Calais, ME). And Trend Micro "out of Miami" is actually Parago and if you call the number on the rebate form they will generally validate it over the phone.
  23. If it's advertised as FAR and the rebates look like you can only submit one, then you should call the number on the rebate forms to see what's up because there is likely a typo. When there are multiple rebates, one takes the original UPC and the other(s) take a copy or something else. I've done lots of CC rebates and I know that for the software stuff both rebates are ALWAYS possible (and if for some reason it really is not, complain to the manager and ask them to pay you for the bogus rebate). Many inexperienced rebaters will misread the forms and THINK that the other forms are asking for the original UPC or not notice that they are looking for something different like the proof of purchase tab or box top (and yes, I have seen many posts like this on a different deal site, especially for Norton rebates). I read a complaint at Ripoffreport.com where some guy said that he had bought stuff at Circuit City (twice!) with 2 rebates and both times decided to send both rebates in the same envelope. Needless to say, he did not get the second rebate (either time) Well, the odds of both rebates going to the same place are very slim so clearly he did not read the forms. And you almost NEVER are instructed to send different rebate forms in the same envelope. That said, my current "worst" rebate experience is with Toys R Us, where their corporate customer "service" person is arguing with me over a $10 rebate I am owed. They are lying about what is on the form and saying there is nothing they can (read: will) do. I just filed a complaint with the BBB after my local store manager told me I'd have to call corporate customer service.
  24. I know all about the vault.. I was looking for the ones that are currently available in the stores (like Aladdin).
  25. I currently am owed $10 by TRU for a rebate and their customer "service" person that I am dealing with refuses to pay, and is either lying or stupid because they are contradicting themselves in replies (not to mention ignoring the facts on the rebate form, which I emailed to them). I went to my local store today and the manager there would not honor the rebate (it was suggested I do that because most managers will just give you the $10 to settle the problem). She told me to call customer service and escalate if necessary. It's amazing how a company that used to be known for great customer service has gone so far downhill. Sadly, my son wants a Lego set that TRU has for 50% off (all Lego is 50% off Friday and Saturday). I obviously would prefer not to give my money to TRU. But I doubt that Walmart would PM a 50% off deal, I'd need to have an actual price for the item.
