  1. I went to Best Buy today with 10% coupon in hand, and they didn't give it to me. Said the coupon was on the regular price, not sale price. What gives???

I'd go back and if they won't give it to you, ask to talk to either the Home Theater Area Manager or the Sales Manager. I don't see any reason it shouldn't be valid on it.
  2. I still have to go in and get mine pricematched, but I'm too busy watching footall on it. It's not a true HD signal, just digital cable and it still lookes terrific. I have my dvd player hoked up through component for now and it looks amazing, but I'll be setting up my htpc soon so I can hook it up through hdmi, then it'll look even better. The picture on the TV looks really good right out of the box. I haven't even opened the TV menu yet since I'm too lazy today. Just thought I'd tell anyone that's looking for a 32 LCD, I wouldn't wait since the only one on BF is a Protron?? from sears.

I frgot to ask, is there a rebate on yours?

I don't have an HD signal either. Just my Dish Network signal. Main reason I wanted it is for my HTPC. Setting it up through hdmi? Don't u mean DVI? This tv doesn't have an hdmi port. I guess the picture looking good out of the box depends on input. I quickly connected my Dish receiver through coax (the Svideo feed is going in to my tv tuner in my HTPC) and it looked crappy. It was fuzzy and seemed to jump around. I then tried my HTPC through Svideo (too anxious and lazy to remove my VGA cable from my desktop monitor) That was ok, but text was hard to read. It was only going to 1024x768. I finally connected my HTPC via VGA and started up Media Center and it looks great!! Some people have had problems getting their video card to run at 1360x768 (the TV's native resolution), but I had no problem. Just moved the slider bar for resolution and the next stop was 1360x768. I plan on getting a new video card on BF and will then use DVI. Nope, no rebate on mine. Price was $791.99. At first he tried to give me a hard time on my preferred customer coupon. It says 10% off or 12% if using a RewardZone card or the Best Buy card. He tried to say that the 12% off was for items in the second column (under where it says 12%). I told him to try the coupon again, this time scanning both the discount code and the RewardZone or Best Buy card code and it came up at 12%. As I sat outside the store waiting for it to open I thought maybe I should have bought it yesterday and did a PM. But didn't want to worry about having to go back. I knew I'd be too interested in enjoying the TV. Plus, you might lose your rebate when you pricematch. They'll have to return and rebuy the TV. So if it's a BB rebate and you send in the original receipt with the rebate form, they'll see the product was returned and won't honor it. Who is the rebate through? And what are the purchase dates?
  3. I remember that employee said the ad for sun would have better prices than on BF, but no. Compared to what we've seen that's supposed to be on sale on BF these aren't very good. Oh, well. 4 1/2 more days.

I guess it depends on what you're looking for. I was at BB when they opened and picked up the 32" Westinghouse LCD HDTV for $791.99. Better than any BF deal!! I was looking at the 32" Protron at Sears for $799 but this beats that one! Especially since it's the tv I've had my eye on for a month now.
  4. I've never heard of them verifying one per household at the actual store. It normally comes down to the rebates. Most rebates are one per household, so you could lose the rebates by submitting multiple requests for the same household. Of course, the work-around is to use a different address (for a friend/relative) on the other rebate forms.
  5. Why wait 'til BF??

Just got my Sunday ads; Killer deal on a 32" starting tomorrow. BB has the 32" Westy for $899 plus tax out-the-door, no MIRs or AOL signups involved. Combine that with the 10% off Reward Zone coupon, and the TV is $809 plus tax.......

Thanks again! I was at BB 10 minutes before they opened and came home with the 32" Westy! With my 12% off coupon it was $791.99! What a deal!!! :greenappl:bounce_fl:g_thumpsu:gd_pineap:gd_shake:
  6. Yea, I've only used the one in my laptop once, to backup data. The one on my desktop I've used twice. Once to make the Restore CDs so I can restore it back to base configuration. The other time was to burn a tv show I recorded for a coworker who forgot to record something for his wife.
  7. but my BB sold so many preorders the manager said they realistically may only have 3 systems at launch.

That's what I'm thinking. Do these minimum quantities include the pre-orders? If not, most of these will probably go to the pre-orders. I'm waiting to get the 360. Not many games out right now that I'm interested in.

  8. Well said mugs!! I think it's rude to take tickets for something you have no interest in actually getting, especially if you plan to profit from it by selling the tickets to others. It's also not in the spirit of the holidays. If everyone followed that lead, next year we'll be paying a membership fee for this site. Having worked at BB, I also look at this from their perspective. We normally end up with 1 or 2 of the doorbuster computers from people who didn't claim their ticket. Once the doorbuster time ends and the price goes up, these systems are not a deal at all. You can normally get a better system for the same price or even less. And these models are often brought in just for BF. So then it's very difficult for the store to unload them. If enough stores have a few left overs, then perhaps next year they'll cut back on the quantity they give each store and then people will be left out.
  9. I was there 10 minutes before they opened this morning and picked up the 32" Westinghouse LCD tv. With my 12% off preferred customer coupon, I ended up getting it for $791.99! That's even better than the 32" Sears will have on BF. I have it hooked up to my Media Center PC now and it looks great! And with my Reward Zone card, I'll be getting a $30 certificate. One less thing to worry about on BF!!
  10. For me it's a close one. All ads except Sears disappointed me with a 32" LCD HDTV. I'm after WoW for $24.99 and the Radeon X700 PCI-e for $99 at BB. CC has some good deals on Xbox games. Comp has the Hitachi 160 GB SATA drive for $20AR! That I definitely want. As well as the Logitech bluetooth headset for $10. But since I worked at BB for 5 years, they get my vote.
  11. Best Buy is always banned in my book. Their return policy of a 15% restocking fee is a shady way of doing buisness. One of which I will have no part of. So, I give my hard earned money to a place that actually has decent customer service and knows how to respect people. :nahnah:

Best Buy only has a restocking fee on certain items (like computers, digital cameras, radar detectors). Or if there's stuff missing. And they shouldn't charge a restocking fee if it's defective. I actually think BB has a better return policy than other stores, like CompUSA. While I'm not technically boycotting Comp, I don't shop there. Mostly because of their restocking fee. But also because I worked there for a month and quit right before my shift last BF because I couldn't stomach the way our new sales manager wanted us to rip the customers off.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! The 32" Westy is the tv I've really had my eye on. They had it at that price about 3 weeks ago but I didn't pick it up. I thought the $300 price drop would be permanent but that Sunday the price went back up. Once I got my coupons I was really hoping it'd go on sale tomorrow. I saw the stacks of ads at 7-eleven last night but they didn't have any papers assembled and ready to purchase. I'll be going shortly to pick up the early edition of the Sunday paper. At least now I'll have one less item on my BF list as I will be picking up the 32" Westy tomorrow!

  13. It's not just those who's credit card or checks were declined. Having worked at BB for 5 years, there normally ends up being a few of the ticketed items that never get claimed. Perhaps they decided on a different model or didn't want to wait in the lines. For those we'd hold them until the doorbuster cutoff time then one of the next customers would be the lucky winner and get it. Really no system for who would get it, just luck of the draw once the clock strikes noon.
  14. I want mine for my bedroom too. Problem is I've been using a Toshiba 31" CRT SDTV. It used to be in my living room in my apartment but now that I'm living at home again and just have my bedroom I put the 31" in it. So now I'm used to that size so it will be hard to go to something smaller. Especially since when watching SDTV on it you'll get the bars on the side from converting the 4:3 to 16:9 (unless you zoom to fill the screen). So that would make it even smaller. But I'll mostly be watching tv through my media center pc, so it should be full screen even for SDTV. If it was silver I'd seriously consider getting it, since it's 1/2 the price of the 32"
  15. I was hoping the 26" was a misprint and it was actually going to be the 27". But when I looked at the pic in the ad it didn't look like any 27" they have. I'm in a real dilema now. It's a really good price, but I was hoping for something bigger. I also like the silver tv's better than this black one. I almost bought the 32" Westy 2 weeks ago when they had a $300 price drop on it (making it $1000). Now I'm really kicking myself for not getting it. Normally a price drop means it will stay like that but that sunday the price went back up. I just got coupons in the mail today for their preferred customer sale this weekend. I'm really hoping the 32" drops in price again on Sunday, then I can use the 12% off coupon. Otherwise I might settle for the 26". FYI, it's still not listed on Westinghouse's website.
  16. I registered last night but haven't received an email yet. I plan on going shopping today just to check out some of the things that I'll be after on BF so figure I'll stop by and check Sears out. Too bad the TV I'm looking at is a doorbuster, so won't be able to get it. And the 10% off isn't good on home electronics, so that's out for the TV too.
  17. Top on my list is an LCD HDTV. Would like a 32", so I'm looking at the Protron at Sears for $799. Just not sure on the quality. So maybe the JVC at BB. Was hoping BB would have the 32" Westinghouse on sale BF. Next would be the Radeon X700 PCI-E vid card. I need to look at the ads again and figure out what I'll be getting for gifts. So far I just look for what I want myself ;-)
