Need ideas for inexpensive GAG gifts
Firemansgal311 replied to lana2go's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
A great one I pulled on my dh was a fake lottery ticket. I bought a lot of them on ebay that had about 40 cards and I rifled through them and found one that looked like something dh would play and tucked it in my purse. I went to the store to get some deli sandwiches and bought a few scratch off tix and came home and handed them out. Dh scratched his and started to throw it away then he looked again and just said real quiet omg.... I was like what? trying my best to keep a straight face he said omg... I think I just won something... I looked and said omg let me see it he was all shaking and said I will have to take off work tomorrow so we can drive to Nashville... he proceeded to turn the card over and read the redemption instructions. You could just see his heart sink. I felt so bad, laughing at the same time he said that was so not funny and almost cried. He got up and went outside http://cgi.ebay.com/80-JoKe-GaG-PrAnK-FaKe-LoTTo-LoTTeRy-TiCkEtS-only-8-25_W0QQitemZ130037778354QQihZ003QQcategoryZ102373QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem -
First off, All I can say is good luck in the future with this;) My dd started in 1997 with the blue minivan that went to the dream dollhouse that she rec'd as a Christmas present and it was all downhill from there lol We HAD to have the dream house the pink roof loving family, the big townhouse, and the dream castle, along with ALL of the accessories. I unwillingly gave up my kitchen for her to make a village. She got to the point where she didn't play with them so much so last year before we moved we sold off everything except the Dream house and accessories I have those in storage for her when she grows up. So from one mother to another I wish you the best with this. Anyhoo, sorry for rambling, Is there a certain one you are looking for? If you aren't opposed to it I would try ebay. You can pick up a lot basically for the same price as a house. Here's the first version of the loving family house (classic) with some of the dream accessories.http://cgi.ebay.com/My-Loving-Family-Dollhouse-Fisher-Price-EXTRAS_W0QQitemZ280038936536QQihZ018QQcategoryZ20898QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Here's the Dream house with the elusive birthday and bunk bed sets( I don't even have those)http://cgi.ebay.com/FISHER-PRICE-LOVING-FAMILY-DOLLHOUSE-HUGE-SET_W0QQitemZ280038965007QQihZ018QQcategoryZ20898QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Pink roof Loving family http://cgi.ebay.com/Fisher-Price-Loving-Family-Dollhouse-70-pcs-THINK-XMAS_W0QQitemZ290042089909QQihZ019QQcategoryZ20898QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem The only townhouse I could find with accessories http://cgi.ebay.com/HUGE-Fisher-Price-LOVING-FAMILY-Dollhouse-TOWNHOUSE-LOT_W0QQitemZ280041010740QQihZ018QQcategoryZ20898QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Twin time dollhouse http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-TWIN-TIME-DOLLHOUSE-LOVING-FAMILY-10-ROOMS-MORE_W0QQitemZ320040917536QQihZ011QQcategoryZ20898QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

What should I get for 56 deployed soldiers?
Firemansgal311 replied to ebony0421's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Maybe ask a local a local school if each class can "adopt" each of the soldiers and have them make a shoebox or a priority box for the guys. You could make a list of random things that you know will travel well and offer a few suggestions. Also ask each of the kids to write a letter to thier adoptee. I be there would be nothing better than seeing all of the letters and drawings from the kids. -
When I got one when I was little it had a birth certificate with the name and birthdate and had an optional tear off page where you could fill in your own name and mail it in and they would in turn send you a new birth certificate. I did it with my CPK and my Koosa's. When I did the one for my Koosa they sent the BC back with 2 little stickers with the pet name on one and your contact info on the other so you could put them on your pets tags on the collar. I don't know if they still do this but I don't see why they wouldn't.

Teachers Gifts-What do you get, how much do you spend?
Firemansgal311 replied to brynnfromtheblock's topic in 2006
Previously I've only bought a "big" gift ($20 or less)for the home room teacher. Then get the other period teachers small gifts like lapel pins, a small goodie bag with personal care items, or a gc with a small $ amt like a $5 to Starbucks($5 or less). I plan on doing the same this year as well. there is no way I could afford to pay for 13 teachers presents. (2 kids, 7 & 6 teachers each) -
I am making up goodie bags for different members of the family and you bet there will be alot of freebies in it. Everythhing from the free razors to the mini shampoo's. I think this thread needs to be in the holiday discussion forum though

looking for a stuffed llama
Firemansgal311 replied to donella's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
You should have seen me try to find a stuffed Hippo. My dd was three and went through a phase where she LOVED that song I want a hippopotamus for Christmas and I couldn't imagine the disappointment after searching and searching (long before I had the internet) I found one in the most unlikely place, the pick up machine at Walmart it cost me about $5 but it was so worth it when she woke up and had her hippo -

Did you know that you can request a refund from Amazon when a price drops within 30 days of purchase? Amazon has an unadvertised policy of offering refunds when price drops occur within this time frame. Getting your refund is as easy as a phone call or an email. Amazon's customer service phone number is 1-800-201-7575, or refunds can be requested from here. Simply sign in, select refund inquiry from the dropdown menu, choose the order from your order history, and request a refund for the price drop amount. At this time, there is no limit to the number of times you can request a price-drop credit, as long as the drop occurs within 30 days of purchase. :)

What gift are you the most excited about giving.
Firemansgal311 replied to shopping mom's topic in 2006
I am with you. My mil has been at us for two years to get a family pic. What she doesn't know is that a couple weeks ago we went to the arboretum and took alot of family photos and individual pics and I had them printed on the collage, coastres, mousepad, shirt. I don't knbow what else. they are definately going to be tired of looking at us. Best part is that they were all FREE from the Kodak/lay's sweeps! -
Never heard of it. But I would say you'll probably get off cheaper buying the bonnie bell makeup (.99 ea) at Walmart along with a boa and a few other girlie accessories and doing it at home.(JAS) My dd(9) always gets a few bonnie bell pieces from lip gloss to eye shadow to a few of the teeny nail polishes in her stocking and loves thenm.
