  2. I have had that Mickey since I was 14... I think... so if you want one I would try ebay I can't find any cowboy ornaments around here so I had a relative buy me some as a Christmas present off ebay. lol:P I made the wreath. I picked up the grinch at Kohl's for $5 and got the rest at WM and completed the whole thing for under $20. I saw some REALLY cute present shaped ornaments that were in Seuss colors at Lowes but they only had one set and one of the 4 was broken. Besides I didn't have the cash I went to get some cheap lights. I love all of the pics yall are posting! Please post more I love seeing everyone's different types of trees and decorations!
  3. Here they are, still work in progress as I don't have all of the ornaments on. I have to give mil's camera back today and had to hurry and take the pictures. Sorry they are crappy. Both trees have clear lights and the wreath has green. if you look close at the cowboy tree you will see lots of reference to beer.lmao... I am also still looking for a cowboy hat for my topper for that tree. http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f105/firemansgal311/100_1073.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f105/firemansgal311/100_1074.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f105/firemansgal311/100_1075.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f105/firemansgal311/100_1090.jpg
  4. I just bought one last week on Amazon.com for around $10.
  5. If I am correct I believe the Pixter is more of an artsy/ game type system and the leapster is more of an educational type system. I only have experience with the pixter. Dd's has paint type things along with a few games that we purchased one was a barbie fashion designer. I have one stored for my ds2 that he will be getting for his birthday I purchased 4 games for him that again are more arcade/interactive. I don't know if this will have any influence on which system you purchase but I thought you might want to know.
  6. try this: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=51430

  10. How about a throw blanket, chocolates, popcorn, and a movie all tucked into a bucket or tin of some sort that they could eat the popcorn out of.
  11. CHRISTMAS CAKE RECIPE You'll need the following: 1 cup of water 1 cup of sugar 4 large brown eggs 2 cups of dried fruit 1 teaspoon of salt 1 cup of brown sugar Lemon juice Nuts 1 bottle of whisky Sample the whisky to check for quality. Take a large bowl. Check the whisky again. To be sure it's the highest quality, pour one level cup and drink. Repeat. Turn on the electric mixer, beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add one teaspoon of sugar and beat again. Make sure the whisky is still OK. Cry another tup. Tune up the mixer. Beat two leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Mix on the turner. If the fired druit gets stuck in the beaterers, pry it goose with a drewscriver. Sample the whisky to check for tonsisticity. Next, sift two cups of salt. Or something. Who cares? Check the whisky. Now sift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Spoon the sugar or something. Whatever you can find. Grease the oven. Turn the cake tin to 350 degrees. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Throw the bowl out of the window. Check the whisky again and go to bed.
  12. I was just thinking about this a couple days ago. Have you picked any out yet?
  13. Hey, maybe you can buy that one from the gal in NC who had her kid arrested. I don't think he'll need his. lol. Sorry just trying to make you laugh. I know what you mean though it sucks being this close to christmas and having to fork out unexpected cash.
  14. You need to pick up some of that Gallery glass stuff from Wm too. It's for painting windows to make them look like stained glass. I Love it! I spent probably 500 on it when it first came out on QVC. I had painted mirrors, glass panels, bathroom windows heck anything that was glass. You can also use it to make removable stickies like for Christmas or Halloween or you can make a pic and put it in your car. You just need to get the paint and a piece of mylar like you make wall stencils with.
  15. Well thank you that is a great compliment. :) I was going to say to do one coat of sparkle, let it dry then use your color but I didn't want to sound like Hitler lol I figured you'd know what to do since you got all of yout colors layered on the lion. As far as the sealer goes I would probably go with the modgepoge too or a clear acrylic type spray paint. You can get it in the paint aisle at wm. :)
  16. Callie that looks great! What kind of paint did you end up using? I would do each one with a differend BG color for each teacher. I like the idea of the glittery white and the blue. But I bet green would look great too. You know, I remember ppl making these on tv and the used ripped bits of printed tissue paper and decoupaged them to the reverse. You might want to do this so you don't have to worry about the paint getting scratched off. WM has lots of cute christmas tissue papers. And modgepodge is pretty cheap.
  17. THis is the recipe for reindeer food that we use,, Mix 1c. oatmeal, 1/4c.sugar, 1/4c. red & green sugar crystals and a little bit of glitter (3 or 4 tbsp) Read this with your kids as you mix and as you use it Christmas eve: Sprinkle on the lawn at night The moon will make it sparkle bright As Santa's reindeer fly and roam This will guide them to your home.
  18. I have a great one. This is long.. When my ds1 and dd were little maybe 5 and 3yo. We were at the Cracker Barrel to eat and were waiting to be seated and were browsing the shop. they both decided that they were going to start touching everything in the store. So I had enough and marched htem back near the bathroom and was going to stand in that cubby away from everyone and everything. I leaned down to tell them they were being bad and that they had better be good blah blah yalll know what I am talking about, when I looked across the gift shop and saw a man that had the beard and the belly and I had a lightbulb go off and said look, there's Ho Ho you better be good he is watching you. Mind you this is probably mid August. The kids immediately stood straight and kept watching him all big eyed. Well apparantly the gent saw me wrangling them and headed over he squatted down and talked to them about Christmas none the less and here came his wife around the corner, She proceeded to cut up about Christmas with them... I am thinking WTH.. how do they know what I was saying. I looked around and seen that every kid in the restaurant was crowding us... I was still kindof looking dumb. The hostess called our name to be seated and the guy stood up and reached inside his suit to a pocket and took out a piece of paper and handed each of the kids one and said Merry Christmas....I said thank you without looking at the papers and took the kids hands to go eat. And I will swear to you when I took ds's paper too see what it was and turned it over it was a photo of the man and his wife dressed up as Santa and Mrs. Claus with writing on the back that said something to the extent of God bless and Merry Christmas hand written on each.... I have them packed in our photo chest. I guess since it is Christmas time I need to get them out. I am going to try to think of a way I can get the pic posted on here. My scanner doesn't work and mil took her camera back.hmm.
  19. I have a simba ornament just like the pic above. It has red poinsettia type petals on it instead of leaves. http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/4626/img0558oo0.jpg not my pic. Although if I knew they would be so cheap on ebay now I wouldn't have paid the 15 each for them years ago. blah.
  20. My dd has been collecting bratz dolls for about two years and was on a binge shopping thing with them. She thought she had to get each Cloe out of every line. But I finally convinved her that just getting each new girl as they come out is the way to go. We are way behind due to financial strains this year. So she hasn't gotten any "new" girls since her last birthday. I believe we are about 10 to 12 girls behind.
  21. I wonder if they would let you do the site to store free pick up? You might want to email them and ask if it is an option.
  22. Mine is getting a goodie bag filled with of some freebies that she brought me throughout the year along with a card and some fresh cookies.
  23. well.... lol. I am seriously slacking. I STILL have not bought replacement lights for the main tree. I have some ornaments on order from ebay for the cowboy tree so as soon as they get here I will hopefully be off my butt and have them done this coming week. Dd's birthday party is Sunday so I don't know how much I can get done this weekend. I am still making her outfit.(capri set that I am "customizing") Yall are so gonna laugh when you see the "cowboy" tree it's pretty hilarious so far. My kids and dh think I am a nut for even attempting it with what I have on it .
