Received this today, well actually it came yesterday and I didn't see it on my porch. lol. Opened the kinda small box and both jackets pop out. (kinda like a down comforter) I ordered the parka and the bomber both are really nice esp. given the price. They are both made out of a soft suede like fabric. the inside of the parka has that wool type liner on the top 3/4 and has a quilted satin on the bottom 1/4 on the inside, both have lots of pockets inside and out for cell phones, wallets, sunglasses, whatever. They aren't too heavy but look like they will be warm. both also have those hats built in the collar if you need them. If ya need one get this, IMO great coats for the value. Also the parka and the bomber have gone down to 19.44 each with SS shipping @25 (I got both for 43.50 shipped) -
If you have a Family Dollar near you last week they had some for $5.00 I think it said it was 14" they also had those black spinning balls with colored reflector lights for $5.00 Maybe this week they haven't gone up too much.

I don't remember for sure how old I was. But,(this is about my kids) One evening we went to the Cracker Barrel to eat and of course kids will have to touch everything in that store. Well I spot this man in the back standing near the restrooms and say look there's Santa I told you he was always watching you (mind you that this is July or August and the guy just had a Sunday suit on with his white beard) Well to my surprize the gent seen what was going on came up and talked to the kids about christmasand being good and his wife came up and started chatting and he reached inside his jacket (I'm thinking candy at this point) and pulled out two pictures of he and his wife dressed as Mr. and Mrs. Claus! He never said anything about being santa to the kids they just thought who's this old guy. But after he walked off you should have seen them, Perfect angels the rest of the night with thier pics in thier hands the whole time they ate. they are now 9 and 11 (were about 6 and 4) and both well should I say all 4 (have 2 more now 2yo and 5mo) still believe. Just goes to show he is real, and to never stop believing!

~to answer someone's question YES this is basically mail fraud. My MIL is the postmaster and she has told me many times that the carrier can be fired for recieving ANY type of monetary gift while on thier route. Any postal worker that thinks so is wrong. If you feel that you want to "give" your carrier a gift send them a card or maybe stop them while en route and give them some cookies, this is an ok way to show your appreciation. But Money and gift cards are a BIG NoNo. But I do agree with the calling the PO this is always a good thing if your carrier does you right put in a good word it helps more than you will know.

I called tonight regarding the laptops: The walmart ad on tv had the laptops advertised for 378 or something and I was furious and called the local WM and asked to speak to the manager and he said oh there was a misprint in our ads the laptop is 378 but we have EXTREMELY limited amounts of them.. I then went on to ask about the desktops and he said were they on tv too? I said not on this commercial and he said ok they are still 488! BS if ya ask me, just say that you live in between towns and that is the ad that you got and make them take it. I am going to Mesquite tomorrow and getting about 20 papers and handing them to everyone in line wanting the desktops. I highly doubt they are going to tell 20 plus uh sorry we can't they will have a huge riot. Also I asked about the extra flyer he said um well we don't have them but if you got one in your paper we will honor it. BS BS BS! Mandy TX :jump3: :jump3:

My MIL works for the USPS and she said that postal employees are not supposed to accept monitary gifts from anyone they can get fired for doing so. She said cookies a card or something to that extent is sometimes ok but money is always a no no. Mandy TX

I had a similar problem at an upscale department store regarding a line of dishes called Fiesta by Homer Laughlin. I was in sweats with two kids and a stroller and was called a liar in front of about 10 people. I just ordered some fiesta from amazon in four new to me colors when I first started collecting and I knew this shop sold fiesta so I went in looking for serving pieces. I guess the whole sweats and stroller musthave made me look like a liar and a thief. immediately upon arriving I had a cs saying can I help you ... no just looking 2 min later can I help you... uh NO... 5 min later is there something in particular you are looking for by this time I was aggrivated and said yes I am looking for BLACK SERVING PIECES. She just gave me a omg look and said I don't think you know what you are talking about Fiesta doesn't make black I was like yeah they do I just ordered a placesetting and a carafe and 4 jumbo mugs from amazon . She got louder so I got louder and I told her I have about 5,000 worth of fiesta in about 6 months of collecting, so I know what I am talking about and that I would be back in a few days when my amazon stuff came to show her. needless to say I went back she was off so I made a special point to make sure the cs on duty looked at my carafe carefully and would tell her when she returned. The nerve of some people makes me sick I wanted so bad for her to be there so I could ram her head in that jug. Would have been funny if you ask me. And to think she works off comission and I guess she didn't read that poster that says the customer is ALWAYS right. Mandy TX

Japanese pie is kindof like the traditional pecan pie with a few extras. You make it basically the same eggs, cornsyrup, sugar etc.. just add some choc chips and coconut and raisins. Everyone loves it including the kids who wouldn't eat a traditional pecan pie because of the raisins and chocolate. I also want to make a vinegar pie but I don't think I can get anyone down here to eat it. Vinegar pie is a depression era lemon pie while that war was going on there was a ration on lemons and some very creative lady came up with using vinegar as a substitute. There is a place in Tennessee that servs this pie all year round. It is called Clinch Mountain Market I believe. this shop sits right on top of Clinch Mountain on hwy 25 in between Bean Station and Tazewell TN. I really like the pie hubby is wierd and had alot of things he won't eat (we won't go intothis one)and won't even try it. But If you like Lemon merangue you will like Vinegar pie also. Mandy TX

Just wondering what everyone was cooking this Thanksgiving. How many guests and how you celebrate. We are getting together on thanksgiving at the MIl's house and having roast turkey sandwiches. Our big dinner will be on Saturday when we get home from Tennessee (have to go back to get our two oldest from the ex they are spending thier fall break there) and MIL's sisters and family will be in from Trinidad, Waco, and Austin. Right now most of the menu is still unclear I know we will have turkey, ham, dressing, potatoes, potato salad, veggies, deviled eggs, rolls and for the desserts we will have a double layer devils food cake with chocolate ganache icing, Japanese pie, triple layer pumpkin pie, Coconut cream pie./ everything else is still up in the air tho, We will have to wait til the inlaws get here to see what else we are having. We are looking at around 30 people total. This is my first Thanksgiving in Texas! Mandy TX

I bought my daughter a beautiful dress on ebay IMO it is much better than what you can get at dept stores. DD wanted to be Stephanie off lazytown for halloween but she is 8 and we couldn't find the costume for anything above a size 4/6. I talked her into being a flower princess I painted a flower vine on her cheek and on her upper arm to go along. here is a dress just like the one I bought it is only 19.99 and comes with the gloves and headpiece. DD won first place in the school costume contest. They also have other colors available. and the turnaround was only 3 days. if the link doesn't work just copy and paste it to your browser. if she gets this she'll forget about the shoes I promise! http://cgi.ebay.com/PINK-CHARMING-WEDDING-PRINCESS-FLOWER-GIRL-DRESS-9-10_W0QQitemZ8232246362QQcategoryZ3263QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Mandy TX -
I like watching them all. The kids will watch bits of them maybe this year I can get the 2yo to watch a few with me. One I absolutely cringe to think about watching tho is the wizard of oz still gives me chills. I remember being told watch it or else... it only comes on once a year I would be okay til those monkeys came on then the tears would roll and I would finally be allowed to get up. Mandy TX
