That's certainly a benefit. Vis-a-vis, a notebook slim drive likely? That does worry me a bit. Slim drives never seem to be terribly reliable in my experience.

Please help an elder member of society here (am considering sending this to my nephew) who hasn't kept up with consoles in the last decade or so. Are there design/hardware changes that make the slim design less preferrable than the original design?

The expiration preview is an excellent idea (and working now that there is actually data to display), and the carryover to the forum threads is extremely useful. Most inexpensive/cost effective notebook optical drive. Found this for $10.35 with the 10% off. Shipping unfortunately is $7.00. Would consider CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD, and DVD/CD-RW if reasonably priced. Attempting to reconstruct an inexpensive notebook for a local friend from parts in my collection. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It was listed here on this page. However, the 1GB PC-4200 has been removed as it was a pricing error, it appears (this page is what appears now, which says "HTTP/1.1 404 Object Not Found"). Notice the price on the 512MB PC-4200 DIMM. On occassion with long URLs or complex syntax, it's better to use TinyURL, which is free. The fault either lies in the GottaDeal goto.php document, or vBulletin. Brad could likely attest to which.

*BooHiss* Learn the syntax, Lucky. The code has three parts: the tag(s), the address, and the alternative text. The tag begins "URL=" and ends "/URL", which are both enclosed by brackets, much like this: [LikeThis]. The address should follow the equal sign, the which should be a URL containing an http:// (or similar) link. The alternative text should be inserted between the first ] bracket, and the second [, and should be the text you want displayed instead of the http:// address. Example of how it should be typed into a message exactly: [url=http-~~-//www.google.com]Text Link[/url]Result: Text Link For those wondering, appears it was indeed a price mistake, and has been caught by Gateway.

I would not doubt it. GottaDeal already employs some sort of predictive algorithm that continually shows products I cannot justify purchasing at prices too good to pass up.
