We bought one of those a couple weeks ago at Walgreens. I have to remember to get it out. I stashed it away with the presents in the garage. Maybe I can remember to do that tomorrow if I can sneak away for five minutes without "help".
-
I have accomplished exactly ZERO wrapping due to my constant 4 year old sidekick. The presents are hidden in the garage. I have bought/ordered everything except stocking stuffers and a few odds and ends. I expect the UPS man will be showing up daily at my door for the next week or so, lol. The major things I have left to do are baking and wrapping! Luckily I had the gifts going far away shipped directly, so I only have one thing to ship out to my little cousin, which is her birthday present that is way late.

We open ours as soon as Santa drops them off...usually around 2am. We store everything in the shed so they are nice and cold. Then shut the door and ring bells. The kids sleep very light and they wake up to those bells.
Wow! That's EARLY, lol.
I let the boys open a present from me on Christmas Eve. Typically it's been a big gift bag with jammies, slippers, and something small from me. I think this year it will be the things I got at Discovery Channel Store online last week with the special. :) I picked them up jammies, slippers, and robes at Children's Place. Speaking of which...I need to check if they went on sale.

You can't drag me away, lol. Some I would recommend:
Hot Chilly's http://www.campmor.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=39191971&memberId=12500226
Ooooh! Bergelene is on sale. Ugh, I shouldn't have looked, lol.
Not on sale, but Techwick rocks!
Great deal on Terramar and if you search the boards, you will find a 20% off code in the "camping gear" thread under deal finder that I posted the other day.

The point is, unless he is very adamant, don't limit yourself to Under Armor. There are many other choices!
-
I humbly suggest, as an avid outdoor enthusiast, that if you cannot find the Under Armor for a reasonable price, you can find other comparable items. The North Face, Patagonia, REI, EMS, and companies like that all make products that are equally as good, if not superior. I have wanted Under Armor for quite some time, but the fact is that it's TOO expensive and you can find comparable wicking fabrics on clearance racks in other stores for good prices. I'm not sure what EMS (Eastern Mountain Sports - www.ems.com) has at the moment, but I can tell you that when my hubby goes up on Mt. Washington (the worst weather in the WORLD - he's into mountaineering/ice climbing), he wears almost entirely things that have been purchased there or Campmor. Speaking of which, check the Campmor website. You'll want to look for something like capilene lightweight or midweight or even silks. The heavyweight will suffocate him if he's actually working instead of sitting still, lol. I wore midweight capilene under my wedding dress and I was married on Mt. Washington during the month of January with temp at 6 degrees and wind gusts in the 90's. I could go on an on, lol, but I'll just wait to see if you have any specific questions. If he's stuck on Under Armor because it's "cool", well then there's not much I can do to help because I've yet to find a good deal on it and I've been looking since it first came out. If he's looking for good quality items that will keep him warm in harsh conditions, I can certainly help with that.
Edit: I just reread this and I'm coming to the realization that our entire household needs a 12 step program for "gear", lol. I've already been checking on size availability in the color pink by these companies and I'm not due until March, lol. I just ordered ds9 a new ripstop coat last night because he messed up his 750 goosedown parka sledding the other day. Ouch! Hiding in the closet for hubby are Mountain hardwear bibs and a mountaineering jacket as well as a new ice axe.

We have a Bon Ton here in Connecticut. :)

When you applied the coupon code, did it show the corrected balance before or after you entered your cc#?
Edit: I just tried it and it took it off after I entered my card#.
Thank you for a good deal. :)

BJ's also has one.

I bought my hubby the Palm Tungsten E last year for Christmas and he uses it a lot.
Seems that he knows about the E2, lol. I just asked him if he has the E or E2 and he said, "Noooooooo, the E2 is the new one with Bluetooth, wireless, and comes with the new Docs to Go version for $199."
I guess somebody's been checking, lol. Man, he's worse than I am!

Thanks for asking about this, motherof1. I ended up finding a great pair of shoes on Sierra Trading Post and used that code I found for you, lol. The shoes retailed for $80.00 and I got them for $24 delivered with the 20% off coupon! I looked in several mall stores over the weekend for something like them but came up empty handed. Now I should have my new shoes in a few days.
Is there a particular item you're looking to get him? My bathroom basket consists of Campmor, Sierra Trading Post, Mountain Gear, EMS, REI, etc. catalogs. My hubby is a BAD gear addict. I think I've created a monster!!! He can usually tell you who has the best deal on any outdoor item.
P.S. If you're looking for some mid-line gear, try Target. Hubby always surfs the endcaps for clearance camping items and sometimes finds some great deals. A lot of our starter gear came from there.

That money jar is cool!!! I will keep that in mind for the future. Discovery Channel Store has some great things!
I'm getting pretty excited about the Hovercraft, lol. I called my hubby at work to tell him about it.

alimfp, I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. I didn't mean anything bad by it at all. I was simply trying to help out others who might be looking for those larger ticket items with a good return policy. The Costco around here is near where I used to live, but it's a pretty far drive from where I live now, so I wouldn't have much opportunity to shop "in store". I was thinking of just having my uncle or mil buy the items for me, since there are only 2 that I really want, but then I figured if I need to return them I don't want to have to cause hassle upon anyone.
BigBob, thanks for the photocopy tip on the receipts. I'm a treasurer for Cub Scouts and when reviewing items from past events, I couldn't read the receipts anymore and they've been stored inside a 3 ring binder stapled to reimbursement forms.
I will remember to photocopy or scan the more important ones from now on.
As for returned items being sold as new - We bought a laptop at BJ's almost 2 years ago (the one I'm using now, as a matter of fact) and when we opened it, it had been used!!! It had all links saved to immigration and green card websites, lol. I just formatted the hard drive and kept it because it was the last one they had and I had already returned one for defective speakers. I did let them know and they had also dropped the price (on another one that was returned, I guess) so I ended up getting another $75 or so back the next time I went into the store.

It says on Costco's website that their return policy for computers is 6 months. The item I need is only available online, so this is the policy that would apply:
Returns or Exchanges
Costco.com has a 100% guarantee on all of our merchandise. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we offer two convenient return methods. Costco.com refunds include shipping and handling fees.
1. You can return the item to the nearest Costco Wholesale location. To find a location,
please click here.
2. If you are unable to return your order to one of our warehouses, please e-mail us at
customer service. Please include your name, order confirmation number, phone number, and
reason for return. You will be contacted regarding your return within 5 to 7 business days.
Please note, as of November 4th, 2002 , the return policy for all desktop and notebook computers are six months from the date of purchase. Six months after purchase, all computer services and technical support will be subject to the applicable remaining manufacturer’s warranty.

I tried to order an item for $9.95 but the guy couldn't get it to work so he had to ask. They said it had to be over $10. I made him hold while I searched around and ultimately decided to get a mini hovercraft for ds9. It was 19.95, but I think he'll really like it. With that and the 9.95 item for ds4, it ended up costing me $27 after tax and shipping.
I didn't plan to spend money so early this morning, lol.

I'm looking to buy a couple of big ticket items (a laptop and a digital SLR camera) and I'm highly considering giving Costco all of my business because of their return policy. If I'm not happy with the product, I want to be able to return it. I don't currently have a membership, but I think it's probably worth the $45. My uncle has been a longtime member there and has never had a problem with a return.
I think it comes back down to "you get what you pay for". If you buy cheap pants at Target, expect them to get a hole. (Happens to my kids after just a couple of wears.) If you buy a product made by a company like Osh Kosh, North Face, Patagonia, etc. you might pay a little more up front, but if you're not absolutely happy or they wear out before you think they should, you can get them replaced at no cost. (My ds9 has been wearing his North Face Denali fleece for 3 years and it's still in good condition to pass down. They've also made good on a couple of other products for us over the years.)
I saw a laptop that I was considering on the back of the Circuit City flyer but instantly dismissed the idea of buying it based on what I've read about people's experiences with the store.
I feel bad for you having to pay a $75 restock fee because you're not happy with the product. I would go at a less busy time and see if you can at least work out a credit for part of the restock fee or something. If I spend that much money, I expect to be happy with my purchase.

Use code 41779 at Sierra Trading Post to receive a 20% off discount to use towards your entire purchase!
I cannot find any Campmor codes, but I will double check on my catalog.
For EMS, I have code FCME for 15% off outerwear purchase.

What, specifically, are you looking for? Are you looking for cheap cheap or cheap prices on good quality items? I'm a pretty avid outdoorsgirl and know where to find some of the good deals. You might want to start with www.campmor.com and www.sierratradingpost.com . Eastern Mountain Sports (www.ems.com) is my very favorite and they have good sales if you catch them right. Most of these also have clearance centers, Bargain Barn, outlet centers on their websites.

Can I be greedy and ask for a clean house AND a new Koontz book, as well as time to read it???? LOL.
The last I read was Frankenstein Book Two. Odd Thomas was great! I can't wait to read Forever Odd, but I really prefer to read paperback so I've been suffering lately. That man has kept me busy for the last 15+ years reading his novels, lol. With the limited reading time I have now with a third munchkin on the way, I can just about read them as they come out.
As for other "gifts", I sort of need a new laptop because mine is about to kick the can, but that's more of a need for school (full-time MBA student) than a gift. I'd really love to have a Canon Digital Rebel XT, but I'm not sure that we can afford it and since I'm the bill payer in the house and hubby is the money earner, I'm not going to ask for it. If we can afford it after everyone else is taken care of, maybe I'll think about it.

The price totally depends on the type of tree. Fraser firs, for example, are generally much more expensive than other types but I just love them! This year we're having a fake tree.
As for cutting down the trees, I am an absolute tree lover. I even have a tree tattoo, lol. The trees that we use for Christmas trees are grown specifically for the purpose and they do provide income to the people who grow them. If there wasn't a need for them, the people wouldn't be growing them. While the trees are growing, they provide all of the benefits to the environment and are well cared for. When they are cut down, they are replaced with saplings. The tree farmers grow and plant accordingly each year. I lived in Vermont for a while and actually considered starting a Christmas tree farm on our 20 acres, lol.

My maillady LOVES when I give her homemade cookies. Her hubby loves them and they usually eat them up fast, so I leave a second batch in the mailbox for her, lol. We like her a lot and in a tight year we gave her the cookies. It turned out to be her favorite so I have continued doing that for her. :)
My sister's ex-husband is a mailman and they always liked cash, lol. No matter how much or how little, it was always well appreciated around the holiday times to make a nice Christmas for their daughter.
For your mailman, I think the Christian bookstore GC is a great idea.

I ordered two boxes of the blue ones, too!

2manicmom, the only company that I know of that makes the lightweight laptops for under $1000 is Averatec. I'm currently typing from one that's about 2 years old that has heat issues, but the new ones apparently are not as bad. I am looking at the 2100 as my next notebook (very soon!) because the heavier and bigger ones give me migraines.

Sometimes with the tracking it will look like it hasn't even left the UPS terminal yet, but you'll receive it before the system updates. That has happened to me several times. Also, around the holidays, UPS starts delivering on Sunday so that they don't get backed up with packages. I say kudos to UPS on that quick delivery as well as CompUSA.

Can't order before payday on Tuesday anyway, so I've got time to ponder. Hoping the offer won't end before then! My lil
would sure love one!
