  1. Never mind, it finally showed up....
  2. I keep seeing references to having 50 posts, and then 100 posts. I'm scratching my head on this one - just hit the 50 mark, and not able to change it. Clarification???
  3. Lots of hype in the ad, but nothing really good for me, either....
  4. Man, gonna have to get a tree this weekend now...
  5. Our old house, a couple years ago. Photo doesn't quite do justice. I think I have some better pics somewhere. http://www.scottsmallwood.com/lights2b.JPG
  6. Have seen several at our area stores. $19.99 seems to be the normal price here. Have seen them at BestBuy, Target, WalMart, ShopKo, FredMeyer. All within the last couple days. Does come with a game - at least that what the boxes I saw said.
  7. (&*$#@* forum!!! ) You are absolutely correct - in fact, I caught my mistake right after I made the subsequent post, and tried to edit it, and then there were some site errors. I thought the edit was saved, but it obviously didn't. My apologies. It's been corrected now.
  8. The component cable is for "high def". Yes, the Wii comes with the standard connection cable. If you have a basic TV, it's fine. If you have a HDTV, you'll want the component cable for a much, much better picture (after all, that's the whole purpose of an HDTV, isn't it? ) The sports accessories just "snap over" your Wii remote, to give it a more realistic "feel" of a baseball bat, tennis racquet, etc. For driving games, the wheel is almost a necessity. Since they're just fancy handles for your control, I'm not sure how these sports accessories CAN'T work....
  9. This kit has the basic charger, can charge two packs at once, plugs into the port on the Wii. Not the fancy "upright docking station", but most of us don't need fancy : D
  10. I couldn't find a product image online, I'll try to get some time to take a pic of the box shortly.
  11. The sensor bar that comes with the Wii is wired - it plugs into the back. It basically has two InfraRed emitters, that are used by some of the handheld Wii controls for calibration (determining x & y axis) - example is Link's crossbow. You're stuck playing within about 9 feet of your Wii with the wired sensor bar. The wireless sensor bar uses batteries, thus it can be placed wherever it's more convenient for you. So you're not limited to playing within 9' of your Wii. The sensor bar is a transmitter - it sends nothing back to the Wii. Hope that help!
  12. Just got this in my email.... http://www.scottsmallwood.com/bestbuy10off75.jpg
  13. Walmart stores also has a charger with two batteries (900mAh?) for $19.97. Just an FYI.
  14. Stopped in my local Target this morning - found they had the Wii Essential Starter Kit on sale through Saturday for $29, regularly $49. I think it's a good buy - here's what's included; Component Cable 2 Rechargeable Battery Packs Soft-Sided Sports Kit which includes; Baseball Bat Tennis Racket Golf Club Racing WheelWireless Sensor Bar Straps & Skins Box claims 5 year warranty. The component cable and battery packs/charger are worth the $29 in itself.
  15. The Fuji CCD image sensors are some of the best. I have yet to find a Fuji camera that didn't take good pictures. I've got their pro cameras, a 7-year old 1.3mp (still works great, I use it for work/ebay items), as well as an almost-new E900. I'm very satisfied.
  16. Here on the "west coast" there's quite a few. I have yet to go into a store and not see at least one type of 360 bundle - and that's just store stock. Same with PS3's.
  17. Good rechargeable AA's are the way to go. Think about what you use AA's for - digital cameras, CD/MP3 players, game controllers, etc. I even put together a rechargable AA battery pack for my portable vehicle DVD player, so it could also be used on plane rides, etc. (lasts about 2 hours).
  18. Fry's had 'em for $29.00, which I thought was a smokin' deal (got one). This is a really good price!
  19. Still working. Good thing I've got lots of different gmail accounts!
  20. Wasn't very impressed with the deals this year, but needed a few electronics things. Sooooo.... Slept in, got up, ate some donuts and had a couple cups of coffee while perusing online. Missed a few deals due to site problems. Waited until about 3pm, went to Fry's, and grabbed a few goodies that I wanted. Got several of the 2gig MP3 players at $19 (great gifts for older kids who you don't want to buy an expensive ipod for), 320gig SATA hard drive for $49, 18x DVD/CD writer for $29, and a few others goodies (all no rebates). These were items that had been "out of stock" since about the first hour in the morning. My trick? Ignore asking sales associates for anything, they're too busy and will just tell you they don't have any left. Look at the boxes above the display/sales racks, and simply look for the item numbers you're looking for on the outside of the box. If you can't reach the items, boost up your child - OR, enlist the help of another BFer that's wanting the same item. I like to bring a kid or two, as they can be of great help when it's checkout time. Meaning that if you grab a few "limit one per customer" items, and the checkout clerk starts to hassle you, bring your kid up to purchase/pay for any extra items. Don't forget to hang around the returns area, as there are always those that thought they wanted something, but then decide they don't, and return it. Or simply bought it because everyone else was buying it. I didn't have to stand outside the store for six hours, or in the checkout line for two hours, and I didn't have to deal with a store packed wall-to-wall with people. Took the kids to the local game center for an hour afterwards for their help and patience. Win-win for everyone, although I REALLY wanted the quad-core processor and motherboard combo for $197. Yes, I've camped out overnight in the past, but the last couple years just haven't had anything worth doing that for.
  21. Yesterday (t-day) I worked on trying to get into the site, and get my order processed for about three hours off and on - the last hour was spent trying to check out (I had finally gotten one in a cart). By the time it *finally* processed, it gave me the "no longer available" message. Oh well, as least I saw one in my cart for a short time...
  22. The items sold will be per the ad specs. Most BB's are NOT putting out the BF computers, laptops and other larger items. This is from a couple BB managers. These items are being left in the back, as not only will they be sold almost immediately, but if they place them on the floor, there will be a mad dash when the doors open. Most of these units will go to the first people in line that get tickets. The remainder will be the luck of the draw.
