    Scanned ads

I didn't get the K-Mart ad either, or the Big Lots ad. I went out and bought another local paper and the other major paper in our area and none of them had them. I called my brother who lives about 10 miles away in the neighboring city and he didn't get one either. So I went to K-Mart and the place was almost a ghost town (got there about 7:20am). While I was shopping a lady asked me if I needed any help finding anything, she looked like a manager, so asked her about the ads and told her I didn't get any in all the newspapers that I bought. Any way, to make a long story short, she gave me a copy of tomorrows ad.
  2. Is the same thing that your seeing on the web the same as the actual ad that came in your newspaper? I wonder if you could pick up an ad in a neighboring community and take it in to BB along with the gift card ad and have them price match there own store.
  3. Well...if it doesn't have wireless built in...it just so happens that Best Buy has a sale on a D-Link 802.11g Wireless kit that includes router and notebook card for $19.99 AR. The ad says "Minimum 10 per store", which means they will probably sell out of them pretty fast. Staples also has a Wireless kit with router and notebook card for $19.94 AR If you have a Fry's in your area you could get both components for about $28 and NOT deal with rebates.

    Scanned ads

Try this link, it has links to lots of major stores online ads. http://www.sundaysaver.com/
  5. The Fry's ads are up and they also have a notebook computer for $499 and NO rebate. http://newspaperads.dfw.com/RopAds.aspx?adv=15646&ad=
  6. Have you ever tried http://www.bookfinder.com/ ? It's a handy way to search a lot of book dealers at once for the best price.
  7. The ad says it's a 15" screen, but it may be a 15.4".
  8. Darn, to bad they are not doing that at my BB. I could of walked out of there with an extra $150 gift card.
  9. CompUSA Turkey Day Deals: http://www.compusa.com/specials/sales/tgiving2004/default.asp?pfp=noad
  10. The last few years I have gone to either Best Buy, Circuit City, or Staples, about 45min to an hour before they open and was anywhere from about the 20th-40th person in line. So I guess it all depends on the area you live in.
  11. They will usually give out tickets for the super hot deals, the things they know will sell out fast, and they only have a limited quantity of. This could include lower priced items like, DVD players etc. If you read the fine print in your ad tomorrow it will say something like "minimum x amount per store", those will usually be the things they hand out tickets for, and once they are out of tickets that means they are sold out of the item. So, if you find out the tickets have already been distributed for the items you wanted...you might as well head to your next shopping destination (unless there were some other things you wanted there that didn't have tickets distributed).

    What's on your list?

I just picked up a 256MB SD card at Fry's tonight for $5 AR. I also got a 400W power supply for $5 AR, and 256MB DDR2700 RAM for $4 AR. I don't need any of it right now but it was such a good deal I couln't pass it up, and I had to satisfy my craving to shop. :)
  13. I wonder if it starts at 6am east cost time. That means I can get up a 3am here on the west coast and do some online shopping before I head out to go stand in line at Best Buy.
  14. I saw scans of the ad, but no 27" TV for $89. They did have a 20" TV for $68. There's also a 27" TV on the list for $127 at Circuit City.
  15. It's a little harder to get a sneak peek at Fry's ads since they are local ads, and don't go to the printers 2-3 months ahead of time. You can try this link at midnight, they might have something up by then, it might give you some insight to what may be in your local ad. http://shopping.ocregister.com/RopAds.aspx?adv=179018&cat=49
  16. They should work just fine. Over the last couple of years I have bought nothing but cheap or free after rebate CDs and haven't had a problem with any of them. Even though they are rated at 52x, your 48x drive won't have any problem burning them at 48x. If they don't work...wrap them up and give them to someone for Christmas :) Hey...they were free, and it's the thought that counts right

    WalMart Ad

I didn't see it in the scans either. It's possible that the scans we are looking at may not be complete (may be missing a page or two or more).
  18. Circuit City - Philips 100-pk Spindle 52x CD-R Media - Free After Rebate. Doesn't get much better than that
  19. I originaly voted Staples, but I may have to hit Best Buy first and pick up the 160GB hard drive for $30 (AR) and some DVD media for $3 (AR). Staples is right next door so I might have my son stand in line over there. Fry's is just a block away, but since their ads are local (rather than regional) I will probably have to wait until Thursday to see their ad. I looked at the scans of the Best Buy ad but I didn't see the Apex 27" TV for $89.99. They did have a 20" TV for $68.99.
  20. As to the hassle of price matching...I don't remember which store it was, but they had to call the store that they were going to price match and verify that the other store had the item in stock, and would only price match if it were in stock at the other store (that's a hassle). I can only remember price matching one time, and it wasn't on BF, so I can only imagine how long it would take on BF. Try calling Best Buy on a normal shopping day and see how long it takes them to answer the phone...if they answer at all. Does anyone know which stores do price matching? And what their procedure is (what hoops do you have to jump through)? Or...which stores are the most cutomer friendly when it comes to price matching?
  21. The newspaper's main office and printing press is just a couple of miles from my house. Since they have a rack out front I can usually get the newspaper about 3am or 4am on Thanksgiving day. The racks around town usually get filled up about 4-5am, and I think the carriers deadline for delivering them to the houses in my area is about 7am for Sunday and holiday papers, although mine is usually here by 6am. It seems like I do remember getting K-Mart and Big Lots (stores that are open on Thanksgiving day) ads on Wedensday.

    BIG LOT'S AD

You can go to their web site and enter your zip code (lower left side) to find out if they have a store near you. http://www.biglots.com/ We have two of them here in Escondido, CA (San Diego county). They used to be called Pic N Sav.
  23. You can try this link for Fry's, but sometimes their ads will vary from location to location. Fry's http://shopping.ocregister.com/RopAds.aspx?adv=179018&cat=49
