  1. I've been getting an increasingly large number of surveys that are for raffles and "chances to win". I just hit the delete button. I also delete surveys that do not offer a fair amount of compensation for the length of the survey. $1 for 30 minutes? I don't think so.

I behave exactly the same as you. My only exception to the rule is Stanford lotteries where the odds are stated and they are pretty good typically.

  2. Did anyone qualify for their 7 day 8,000 point daily journal type surveys? I just got my first one an hour ago and within the first 30 minutes I tried to access Day 1 to take the 5 minute survey and I got a message stating the survey was now closed.

Closed? My goodness, I just got the darned thing. I am truly sick of this company. I have had nothing but problems and they never respond to my emails so I have to wait and go through Surveypolice. I know that now that todays survey is not accessible for me, they will expect to avoid giving me the 8,000 points. I think this is a scam.

I qualified for this and in none of the emails they sent me did it say you only had like 5 minutes to respond to each of the daily surveys. If they don't make good on this I will be completely done with them. I'm tired of wasting my time. And it's not worth it.

I just took my day 1 now with no problems.

  3. What's the live cash back program on Ebay?

You can learn about live.com cashback program here It is good lots of places for various amounts. Ebay is not a listed partner, but if you go to the search engine www.live.com and put in the right term ( I use 'cheap wii') a sponsored link will be the first result saying you could get XX% cashback (varies, i have got 25-30). When you click that it will take you to ebay and your cashback will be valid for an hour (you will see a logo on the top of the page). Make a purchase using buy-it-now and paypal. Ebay should have all the fine print. I have one that posted (GPS) and several more showing up as pending - I have saved over 300 from this. :yup:

  4. Today I went to three different Staples within the area to check out the laptop area and see if the laptop i want is there.

I only found one Staple having that laptop. It doesnt mean the other two won't have them right?

Last year only select Staples had the laptop sales and it looks like this year will be the same. Call the store to confirm, they will usually tell you how many they have so you know if it worth waiting in line. We showed up around 1 am and were like 3rd in line last year, the employees told us to show up by 4 to be safe, but that would have been too late last year for a laptop. Good luck in your search!

  5. Hi, I'm new to the forum - please help! My local online Staples ad does NOT show the HP $399 laptop. I'm in the Phoenix, AZ area (Scottsdale, to be specific). Is there a chance that they are waiting to show that or does this mean it definitely won't be available in my area? I am so bummed, none of the best deals are accessible from here!!!

Yep, it means you better check other area locations if you want it. I had that problem with the laptops last year, but found another store not too far away that had them.

Prices are higher in WI - $119 on the monitor and $19.99 on the 8GB flash drive that I noticed. I hate when we have to pay more!

  6. When you go in to price adjust, do you just need your reciept? or do you need the reciept and actual items?

    I picked up:

House season 3 for the boyfriend!

Tfals cookware set for boyfriends parents!

Thomas the train for my son!

    Just the reciept is needed.

  7. With a little research it looks like Halo 4 is supposed to be released Q4 2008. So it could be. :)

I'm sure it is meant to say Halo 3. I am not a big gamer but if Halo 4 was coming I would hear about it constantly from my DN and DH. Bungie who made all those games said 3 was the last one.

  8. Grrrr, I wanted to get Gears 2 with the 1600 MSpoints :( I'd have to drive an hour or so over to Rome to find a store that is actually doing the weekly sale, lol. Hmmm, wonder if Sears is getting the game or if they sell MSpoints...

If you can wait a few days to play then just order it online - they have the deal and free shipping. In my experience the free shipping is usually much quicker than they estimate. I ordered it that way today, but don't need it till christmas for DH.

  9. What does it mean to vote for stuff? You mean like an auction?

They have a few items with listed special prices and tell you how many of each they would sell at each price. You vote for one item each for day of the promo - the deals you like best. Then you come back and see if you are offered the winning deal on the day(s) specified. They randomly pick accounts who voted for each deal to win to have a chance to buy the discounted item. They are very nice things at GREAT prices - but very limited in quantity - I have never been offered to buy one.

  10. I just got an ipod touch and decided to go the ebay route. Live.com (microsoft) is still running the cashback promo so 60 days after your purchase you get 25% back if you buy through there link and pay with paypal. This made a 32GB touch just under $300 after cb, which I doubt will be beat on BF.
  11. We discuss what we want and spoil each other to varying degrees each year. We don't have kids so the budget is easier to stretch. He has went as big as $1500 (Macbook Pro) or on a 'cheap' year we might do $250 each. Probably about 500 each this year. I do most of the shopping as he says that I will just complain that he paid retail (he's right!). So he will say I want to give you this and tell me to buy it when I find a deal. We both try to have a few surprises, but mostly just buy from each others lists. He does seem to always want to outspend me :yup:
  12. Now if you would compare the DS with the PSP which do you think is better or has more options?

I just purchased my daughter a DS (8) and am wanting to get my son the psp, but my son says he also wants a DS. How can i convince him to get the psp? I feel it is more boyish.

I'm not sure you should push the psp on him if he wants a ds. My dn(13) has had both forever and the ds gets played with lots more. He probably hasn't touched the psp in a year.
