  1. 10 years old, wood set, from Menards..looks same as it did new after a new stain this past summer. The plastic swings, handles, chains are another story. They have faded/rusted after 10 years, but that is going to happen no matter what type of set you have. We have replaced 1 slide (have 2 on the set) because it cracked in the winter when they decided to run up it when it was below 0.

If I remember correctly, we paid about $600 back then, plus what we added over the years...rock climber, rope climber & new slide. Unfortunately, they don't use it as much now as back then. That being said, I would still recommend a wood set that you build yourself.

I searched and found a post I made way back, that included a pic of our set.

  2. Anyone else haviong issues with GH for the WII? I have both GH fro PS2 and GH for the Wii. The PS2 version works perfectly. On the Wii version, the sound\singing lags way behind the notes that are played. It is much worse on the beginning levels rather than the harder levels. I have tried to calibrate the thing, but not sure how to do that.

There is a setting for HDTV's ...to fix the lag, you have to go into audio options.

  3. The same thing happened to me yesterday. My 19" LCD TV was left on my front porch in front of the door in the TV box- no additional packaging- with a label on it just like the one above.

Yep, FedEx just left my 19" Sharp LCD on doorstep, rang doorbell and left.

I am amazed no signature was needed...

Note to self, next year..look on neighbor's doorstep for really good black friday deals 3 to 5 days after BF ;)

  4. do you just leave a Christmas card in the mailbox for the mail carrier?? I mean do they look at the outgoing mail or do they just throw it in their sack?

Also how do you leave the trashmen a gift card or such? Tape it to the trashcan? But what if someone saw it and steals it? i'm confused  so if my trash men forget to take my trash about once every two months should i give them a tip so they remember me or do they not get a tip because they cant do their job right...hmmm

Make it obvious if you think the carrier may miss it. Put a small bow or some ribbon on the envelope.

As for the trashman...If he is a lousy collector, don't tip.

I try to hand it to ours, since he never leaves the truck.

  5. What happens tho if you leave a gift in the box and it is a substitute mail carrier?

Is it like tips then? Do they make sure the right one gets it?

The sub SHOULD give the tip to the regular (the regulars do "take care of" their subs), but who knows if that always happens.

If you are curious as to whether the regular got the tip, casually ask them if they had a nice holiday or if they have used what you gave them yet. You will then at least know if the sub is honest.

BTW, most regulars will leave a thank you card in your box when you do tip them with anything.

Any gift is always appreciated...and I know carriers who have received a crisp $100 bill every year...that $20 rule is the "official USPS" policy...but rules were made to be broken. right?!! :D

I have never heard of a carrier being disciplined for accepting a tip over $20.
