  1. the right one on the Wal_mart ad is HDD082/17 I saw the actual blitz boxes at work we are getting 21 of them. There was a question cause the item number did not match the picture in the ad. It is not HDD077 it is HDD082/17 http://www.consumer.philips.com/consumer/catalog/catalog.jsp?fhquery=fh_secondid%3Dhdd082_17_us_consumer%26fh_view%3Ddetail%26fh_location%3D%2F%2Fconsumer%2Fen_US%2Fcategories%3Ccatalog_us_consumer%2Fcategories%3C%7Bportable_entertainment_gr_us_consumer%7D&productId=HDD082_17_US_CONSUMER&activeCategory=PORTABLE_ENTERTAINMENT_GR_US_CONSUMER&fredhopperpage=detail.jsp&activeTab=features&language=en&country=US&catalogType=CONSUMER&proxybuster=R32O0YNES05XBJ0RMRCSHQFHKFSESI5P
  2. definitely gettin this one....darn pre-order I can't use my wal-mart discount so I will wait til Black Friday. but maybe our discount doesn't work for those things anyway. hmmm
  3. Usually it is the buyers that doing the ordering of anything in Wal_mart. Honestly the department managers are not suppose to order much at all. They are suppose to leave the system do the ordering. Of course though if they get special permission they can order stuff. When I showed our store manager the ad I asked him if he had anything to do with how many of the laptops we would get and he said no it was out of his hands. One of the other store managers in our district actually had the actual ad but it was because he knows someone at the post office and that person told him the ads were there and gave him one. See the post office does not send them out til when they are suppose to go out.
  4. at our wal-mart which is a division 1 store sometimes they keep big items in a trailer in the parking lot. The customers then take the receipt out to the trailer where an associate gives them the big item. It does seem they all do it differently so calling would be the best things to do.
  5. I work at wal-mart and the assistant managers that I have given the ads to are like yeah but are they legit. Its like they don't believe the ads you guys have found. Funny thing is I had a feeling that the assistant manager I had given the wal_mart ad to had not given it to the store manager so I made another copy of the list and gave it to the store manager. He did not even question whether it was legit or not he believed it right away. Actually he showed it to our District Manager who then faxed the list out to the rest of the stores in our district. It is just weird how some people believe yeah when ya bring something to them and others question it.
  6. yep the ad does say it holds up to 500 songs. if you go to the pdf that yours has it also says 1,000 songs. here is the only Philips MP3 player that is available right now on walmart.com http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3910156#Item+Description this one also says 1,000 songs. hmmm interesting but the thing is the one you found does match the picture in the ad see the number they have listed in the wal-mart list is different then the one in the wal-mart ad if you have downloaded the ad.
  7. they both look like good ones. the one says it can fit behind a credit card sounds like it is as thin as Ipods nano. I am thinking of going for the one at wal-mart instead of the dell. I think a person will be saving about $50-60 on it on that day.
  8. sorry but I think that is the wrong MP3 player the number is wrong. I think this is the right one. http://www.consumer.philips.com/consumer/catalog/catalog.jsp?fhquery=fh_secondid%3Dhdd077_17_us_consumer%26fh_view%3Ddetail%26fh_location%3D%2F%2Fconsumer%2Fen_US%2Fcategories%3Ccatalog_us_consumer%2Fcategories%3C%7Bportable_entertainment_gr_us_consumer%7D&productId=HDD077_17_US_CONSUMER&activeCategory=PORTABLE_ENTERTAINMENT_GR_US_CONSUMER&fredhopperpage=detail.jsp&language=en&country=US&catalogType=CONSUMER&proxybuster=OMU4FIA5Q3ADNJ0RMRESHP3HKFSEKI5P
  9. does anyone know if you can use Napster with that one??? I know you can use Napster with a Dell DJ. I am thinking of getting an MP3 player and not sure what to get. I have been looking at Dell DJ Ditty but if I this Phillips one at Wal_Mart would work with Napster I might go that route.
  10. wal-mart as a thing now where they can use a scanner to check you out while you stand in line. They then give you a card. When you get to the cashier you hand them the card it automatically gives them the total and you get your receipt. They can also bag the items while you are inline. Does not work on some items though like food and a few other things those would still have to be done the old way. I have no idea how many of these we will be using.
  11. shortly I am going out to the store I will look it up on the sign by lawaway and when I get back I will post it here for you.
  12. why can't we get past the first page on the add or switch to different ads??
  13. new server on both ways says nov 8 th but cannot view different adds
  14. I can't get any of the adds to come up except one add and it won't go to page 2. I put the www. the k-mart add says nov 8 but I can't get anywhere with the adds all I can get is the one that starts off with this 100-Count Mini Icicle Lights - Free AR 22 Piece Screwdriver Set - $4.99 It won't go to anyother store adds or change the page.
  15. I work at Wal_Mart now. We get the 10% discount on Black Friday stuff has we do on everything else. Also at Christmas we get an extra 10 % off on one item but we don't get to do that til after Black Friday.
  16. our store here in town will be closed on Thanksgiving Day it is the last time it will be closed as we are getting a Supercenter next year. but anyway it will be closed and will open at 5 am on Black Friday. However alot of stores are opened this Thanksgiving and will probably be 24 hours yet. Our store is not one of those stores though. Before we go home on Wed we will have the stuff out for Black Friday. I am not sure what time we are closing though on Wednesday. It will be out but covered in black but it won't be out on the floor til very late on Wednesday night.
  17. If you really really want it you better be there extremely early cause I think they are going to be in short supply. Now the store that I have heard this from is a smaller store in a non-university town but one of the stores in our district some how found out they are only getting 6 of the laptops. Now that doesn't mean that other stores are only going to get that many but it may be a scarce item that is only going to be so many and when they are gone they are gone. So if ya really want it you better be in line early.....
  18. my main advice would be if there is something you really really want at a store get there early enough. alot of times the things everybody is after run out.
  19. what can I say I worked at McDonald's during the first teenie beanie craze and I just loved it!!! It was nuts but alot of fun!!!! I can't wait.
  20. yes he has signed a deal with them and is now exclusive to wal-mart. Wal-Mart Inks Multi-Year Pact With Garth Brooks Melinda Newman, Billboard Friday, August 19, 2005 Garth Brooks has signed a multi-year, exclusive pact with Wal-Mart making the retailer and its Sam's Clubs and walmart.com outlets the only places where his music will be commercially available. The deal with Brooks marks the first time an artist, and certainly a superstar, has aligned himself and his entire catalog with one chain. (A number of other retailers have started labels, but they were never exclusive to the retailer and most have shut down). Speculation about a pact brewing between Brooks and Wal-Mart grew after Brooks performed at a Wal-Mart shareholders meeting in Bentonville, Ark. on June 3. However, until now, both sides have declined to acknowledge that they had made a deal. Brooks tells Billboard that he's not ready to discuss details of the marriage until "we get our ducks a row," but adds that the forthcoming releases, "in everything from cost to content, will be an amazing deal for the Garth fan." Says David Porter, Wal-Mart VP and divisional merchandise manager, "Garth's music holds a magic that touches his fans of all ages and making his titles available to our customers just makes sense since so many of his fans are Wal-Mart customers." The initial deal is believed to cover only catalog since Brooks had vowed to remain retired from performing and recording new material until his youngest daughter graduates from high school in 2015. Then, he has said he'll reevaluate the marketplace and his desire to return to the music recording industry. Brooks' last studio album, 2001's "Scarecrow," has sold 2.9 million, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Although neither Brooks nor Wal-Mart would comment on the first arrival under the pact, industry sources say that it will be a multiple-disc box set including previously unreleased material. The set will street in late fall and will retail at around $25. This will not be Brooks' first boxed set. Brooks re-released a number of his early albums, each with added bonus material, in a limited edition box set in 1997, made available to all retailers. The set debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and has sold 1.9 million units. While other superstars, such as Elton John and the Rolling Stones have released exclusive box sets through Best Buy, they were DVD projects. This is the first time an artist has released an audio box set exclusively through a traditional retailer. Such a project, because it is not available to all retailers, would not be eligible for the Billboard 200 album chart, but would appear on billboard.com's Comprehensive Albums chart. Brooks' departure from Capitol Nashville, his label home since 1989, paved the way for the Wal-Mart deal. Capitol and Brooks dissolved their licensing deal in June. Brooks owns his masters, leaving him free to shop for a new deal. His catalog includes 15 projects. Capitol parent EMI can sell remaining Brooks' titles it already had in the pipeline to retailers prior to the June deal, but it can manufacture no more units. More News >
  21. Seriously 2 am wow!!! Back when the Furby's were the hot item I was in line at 4:30 am here I was third in line. I got my Furby and got out of there man people were fighting and they had to have the cops out there over the Furby's. Black Friday's are wild and I love it!!!!
  22. I can't wait to see what the box set is going to be. it is going to be available during the Black Friday special hours only the way it looks. I work at Wal_Mart and I am hoping that I can get one. I just wonder how popular it will be. Suppose to be a 6 cd box set. I have signed up for the email on walmart.com to get the info about it as soon as the info is released. I know Garth is retired and all but he more then likely has songs he has already recorded but not released before and now that he is exclusively at wal-mart it will be the only way to get them.
  23. at our wal-mart store we restock as soon as the first pallet is gone. we also tend to keep the sale on stuff going if we have any left past the time it says. but alot of time the really good stuff is already gone. So if there is a particular item you want you better be there when the doors open. I showed the list to my store manager last night he didn't know about the list or that it was out. he is hoping we get alot of laptops and such but individual stores have no say in how many they get. I can't wait til Black Friday I have always thought it was exciting even if you are just working at the time.
