  1. i'm looking for a good deal on the mini at dell.com. do you think it's realistic they may drop to $199 or just wishful thinking?

I think $199 is a bit optimistic since they retail for $299. Are you set on the Dell? I'm not a big fan since you can't upgrade the ram on them. I would guess that they will be around $249 for the holiday a couple of times.

Okay, I'm really stupid at this...IF they have these at a reasonable price and IF each of my sons would get one, could they go online with our wireless connection? That would be so great so I'm not hearing them fight over who gets the computer and "he's hogging the computer!" This would be so great!

Just about every netbook out there now (actually, I think all of them) has a built in wireless adapter. So yes, they would be able to connect to your wireless network.

  2. BTW, I've also heard already from a couple stores making sure they were a part of the BF site this year. Just yesterday Family Dollar contacted me wanting to know how to make sure their BF ad gets on the site.

So while I don't expect Walmart to change their policy, hopefully many of the other stores realize they need all the help they can get this year and are friendly to us :)

    That would be great...

If they really wanted to get involved, they could do a "Christmas in July" ... I know it is getting late now...

but basically put out a ad, and have people comment on it, or see which of the items generates the most interest...

Of course... they would be helping their competitors too who could easily see the data...

  3. Do you consider Dell to be an option? They are having an outlet sale, extra 15% off and I think I have seen tons of these in the outlet? Not 100% sure though, I usually shop for regular size.... I think the 15% thing is limited to the first 2000 who use it.

I have considered them, but they haven't gotten the best reviews. I'm not sure there is a 6 cell battery option with the Mini 10, but I could be wrong. I know there is with the Mini 12.

Currently, there are no Mini 10 systems in the outlet.

  4. I'm looking to add to my computer arsenal with a 10" Netbook.

So far, I'm interested in the ASUS 1000HE and the Samsung NC10, but I am open to other options. Whatever I get should have...

    10 - 10.2" screen size

    Intel Atom processor

    6 cell battery

    user upgradeable memory

Most of the other features are pretty standard and don't really need to be specified.

Anyone have any input or know of any upcoming deals?

  5. Crucial 2GB (2 x 1GB) 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Laptop Memory is on sale for a low $16.99 with free shipping at Newegg.com.

This is a great upgrade deal for those who have a computer that is a few months old. Especially if you are running vista.

I just grabbed one for a friends Dell E1705. Should be a welcomed upgrade for them.
