  1. not to defend your local store, but if it is product that your "local" store DOES NOT carry, without a receipt they cannot return it... we get that a lot ... people buy from a WalMart that is about 10 miles away from us and if it something that "our" store DOES NOT carry, then we cannot accept it as it's not a valid item in our inventory... but with a receipt we could have,... I've returned an item that was bought in CA (we're in SW OH).. but the people had a receipt... so our system would allow it.. if the store is "always" that way, above the customer service desk they are supposed to have the phone number for the "district manager"... call them and advise what is going on and if that doesn't work, call 1-800-WALMART..... off your receipt, you can get your store number.. it should be the beginning of the line under the store phone number... on the receipt you will see "ST # "... that's your store number
  2. I hope that you returned it... there will be no problem returning (especially if you have the receipt).. with a receipt... 1... exchange for the identical one (even if the new price is $12) 2... refund the $8 that you originally paid without a receipt here's the senerio you may encounter... 1... the store reduce the price in their inventory lower then you paid for it - that is the price you will receive. 2... they completely removed from their inventory - then chances are you won't get anything (but you can attempt to talk to a manager)
  3. Again thanks... I hear so many people complain and complain about WalMart on message boards, but there are times that I wonder if the only reason they had a bad experience was because of how they treated the employees at their WalMart.. Even this weekend with the Christmas rush and all, we had many many people come up to the courtesy desk and comment about how nice this employee was and that one was..
  4. Thanks for the nice post.... you don't see many... I work at the CS desk as WM and it is a very tough job, most customers come in and start off with an attitude... I have had many people come after the "bad" customers and comment about "how can you hold your temper" or "you didn't do anything wrong" .. "how can you stay at this job".. My reply... "It's customers like you that follow those people, that make it pleasant" I really try (and knock on wood) not to have a return attitude with people.. sassareena ... not to defend what happened to you, but (at least at our store).. the amount of returns we have from walmart.com are so few, I have only had 2 of them in the 3 years that I have been with them... and seems both were done differently as their systems change.. currently, for us to return, we have to have all the paperwork (including your confirmation, shipping receipt, and sales slip-from the store when you pick it up---- in order for us to return on our own... if not, we have to get a manager up to the desk to do an override..
  5. Usually the stores have no idea how many they will get in of anything... however this is the same price as any other time... if you find a good person in your electronics dept, they can tell you when they get their normal shipments in of the WII (our local store gets their WII's in on Tuesday mornings... sometimes it 1, sometimes it has been as many as 10...).. I snagged one about 6 wks ago... the WII FIT has been a harder one find... so if you are interested and can find that grab it.. (at least that has been around here, SW Ohio)
  6. I work p/t for WalMar and ours is not a 24hr store, but this year they are opening at midnight so there won't be any lines, but we dread to be the person that unwraps the items on skids... Is it a zoo around the items?
  7. I currently work p/t at WalMart and I also worked in their layaway (we were one of the last stores to get rid of layaway in our area)... one of the big problems we had, was people would put stuff in layaway, pay the minimum they had to, come in just before they had to have it out, .. then cancel the order (or at least the bigger ticket or hard to find items), get their $$ back (as there was no cancellation fee)... wait in the store for us to pull their order and put it back on the shelf (or if we had stock, put the item back in.. one time, there was a person who had 4 of the big kids truck (kinda like the ATV's) .. then they would come back with the same items and put them back in layaway again.. this way they would have a lot longer time to pay it off or in some cases it would down to a clearance price, as when they pay off an item the computer would mark it at it's lowest price..... one time, someone got a $200 some odd dollar order for about $90 because so much had gone on clearance and they were one of the ones putting several of the same orders in during the month (everytime they came in, they would put the same things in layaway)... we were told things like this was a big decision in dropping the layaway system -- not cost effect... just people's way of abusing the system for everyone else who used it that being said, people also said that WalMart's sales would drop because of them taking away layaway and our sales were not lower.... they were even higher last holiday season.. (this is based at least on our stores sales)..
  8. DH works part-time for Dicks, and for some reason they are keeping their ad a secret... also Dick's "ONLINE" is not associated with Dick's per say... the merchandise is different... the online just has the rights to use their name
