  1. Well, if they truly don't release the ad until Friday, then I think they will lose a lot of customers.  I'm usually shopping for my husband and family, if I can't see the ad until sometime in the night on Thursday or after midnight on Friday, no way am I going to get a list of things my family wants before they would open at 6am.  Hence I'm not getting my butt up to stand out in the cold with temps in the single digits!  STUPID!!

Honestly, the people you should be mad at are the ones that tried to scam the system in the past. It sucks that a store is doing this to their customers, but it sounds like they were the victims first and are now trying to protect themselves from the abusers.

Wow. The lady in my store thought it would come in the thanksgiving paper with the other ads. But still. Whoever in their management thought of this save the ad till Thursday or Friday may have to rethink their thinking after Friday. I usually get to mine 4:30-5 am. I won’t do that if I don’t know what’s on sale. I’m not going to get the ad on my way in the door and spontaneously decide what to get, how many, and for who. And honestly I usually spend 600 - 800 there. Because I usually stock up on hair clippers, dog beds, sausage, ear buds, pots and pans and kitchen things, other special buy sauces, toys, etc. Besides has anybody seen the mess they have in there store by 3pm after the early bird rush? So if I have to go late. Then I know I won’t spend like I normally do.

Before sites like this almost everyone waited until Thanksgiving to view the ads, honestly I doubt it costs them much in sales.  They may not be anxious to sell their loss leaders this year because the volume of other sales won't make up for it, with anticipated volume from most of their customers being lower.

  2. My issue in the past with Black Friday was that it fed the scalpers too much.  One of the things I actually liked, but most didn't was the "buttons" that JCPenny did about 4 or 5 years ago. Thiey honestly seem to be the only one to be trying for the "fun and suprises" side of Black Friday and holiday shopping. They are giving out a lot of small to medium prizes this year, making everyone think they "have a shot", and for those that like contests like I do, it could increase the shopping done at JCP.

  3. I purchased the $450 gaming laptop in their sale #1, at least I thought I did. Did anyone else have this happen to you? It's still sitting in the first shipping stage of "preparing" even though my credit card company said they put in a pending charge on Nov 5 and it was accepted. I spoke with two different Walmart agents online and they both insisted I would still receive it by Nov 11th. Well today is Nov 10th and I have not received tracking information for it yet.  They swear I will receive it, but I'm afraid they will never ship it and just keep saying "you will receive it". Is this something common with Walmart online sales. I'm frustrated because this is the big gift my son wanted this year and i"m only buying it for him this year since we didn't have a family vacation due to Corona Virus limited options  Has anyone ever had their purchase not update on tracking on Walmart.com , but still receive it?

  4. Target for the IPhone upgrade for $250 gift card was a combination of a disaster, but in the end a success.

Thanksgiving night it was a total nightmare. I arrived at Target at 9:00 and only saw two customers waiting in the electronics are for a cell phone rep to take their order. Then someone came up and when I asked how long it would be said "are you on the waiting list yet", asked how many were on the list and he said about 10, but about 75% weren't showing up when he called them when it was their turn. So I figured I'd take a shot.  With how few were waiting I decided to return 10 minutes later after finding some DVD's I wanted.

20 minutes lady an elderly lady came running through the whole department crying, yelling to her husband "take that salesguy out back and make him learn you don't disrespect an elderly lady by skipping my turn". He came in spitting in all three account rep's faces, saying how they never called him wife or paged her over the intercom, even though others of us waiting heard her name called a few times.  He offered to let her go next and she said "NO, YOU ARE GOING TO PAY FOR WHAT YOU DID TO ME, MY HUSBAND  WILL TEACH YOU A LESSON!".  Everyone was sort of snickering under their breath as she was way overboard with the dramatics at this point, in a temper tantrum that would give a 3 year old a heck of a challenge to beat.  Computers were running slow as it was, and their attitudes were inhibiting all the sales reps from compleing their jobs efficiently.  Eventually she got it.  Ther was a total of 3 orders in front of me at the time they left the section with their phone.  The guy who had the list, THOUGHT I might make it by noon, but said it as safe if came in at 600 to claim the phone  Friday I would not lose my claim to the phone .

Had to wait to for the sales rep to call the few more in front of me and see if they could be there in 15 minutes, because they had overpromised inventory when booking appointments., they couldn't so he did get me the phone and it worked out, but they were not organized at all :)

  5. The buy one get one Pokemon cards might be my only interest this year. Unless can use the 20% off on video game consols. Then would spend the $50 and get my Switch there for 20% off later.

Well I have never said this before but I think I am actually going to skip Target this year. I didn't see anything that was any great deal. I'm disappointed I expect a lot more out of Target.
