  1. I'm sooo excited!! Thanks Brad!!!
  2. I check every hour or so just HOPING for the Target ad...been booing and hissing when an ad is posted that's NOT Target.
  3. Sorry if this is a repost, but couldn't find it anywhere. In the Toys R Us ad this week, back page, you can get a $20 gift card back when you purchase an Xbox or PS3 game at $59.99, good only in store, or a $50 card with the purchase of 2. I thought maybe it was just the games pictured, but it's for ANY games at $59.99. I just got back from buying Fallout New Vegas.
  4. I don't know, I was just looking at the Paper Jamz this morning at Target and they're at least a dollar cheaper than Wal-Mart. In past years I've found half the stuff was cheaper at Target, half at Wal-Mart, without sales involved. Just depended on the toy.
  5. Black Friday makes Christmas shopping a true adventure!
  6. Thanks for the responses, I appreciate the support! He really is such a pain with this stuff. As far as I can tell he hopes to win the lottery and buy everyone a new car or something LOL. Something like this happens every year, you're right, conj, usually with a member of his family. If I tell him to do the shopping himself, then whatever gift I've suggested is suddenly wonderful, but I like him to feel good about it. Anyway with much pushing and prodding he doesn't want to give something INSTEAD of the frames, but rather in ADDITION TO. So I showed him these long sleeved shirts on sale this week at Kohl's for $12.99 and suggested a $10 GC for bookstore for the ladies (that's enough to buy a book, right? Or do I need to up to $15? I always buy used...) and still give the picture frames and he's all enthusiastic now. On a side note, thanks for the idea about the movie bucket vsa3janes...I need something for my stepson's GF and she's not into the girly stuff so I think that might fit the bill.
  7. So for my brother and his wife AND my BIL and his wife I got a magnet digital picture frame they can put on the fridge. Things are pretty tight this season and they were on clearance at Target and looked pretty cool, so I picked some up and figured I'm done. Fast forward to the week of Christmas...now my DEAR DEAR DH, after a month of knowing that's the plan, suddenly thinks it's not good enough. BUT he has no ideas on what to do other than expect me to figure something out. I say well we can get a $20 bookstore GC for the ladies (who are both avid readers) and a shirt or BB GC for the brothers...or we can get a $50 GC to a restaurant for each couple and save the frames for other events... Of course none of those are good enough either. It's not like they spend a lot of money on us, either, so that's not where he's coming from...if anything, we usually spend more on their gifts than they do on ours, but that's not really a concern for me. Personally I wouldn't mind getting one of the digital picture frames for my fridge, so I don't see what the big deal is, but maybe I'm just completely out of touch? Is it considered a "lame" gift? Lamer than the other ideas?
  8. Got to the Hialeah Target at 4:45 a.m. - tried to wait for the line to go in, but it wouldn't stop! So finally headed over to the end of the line (which was past Lowe's back door-nobody in line at Lowe's). Electronics was a mess, but I got my PS3 controller and though they were trying to get everyone to check electronics out AT electronics, they were very reasonable and sent the controller to the front check outs for me. When I got up front there was a guy running around apologizing for the long wait (which was nothing, really, maybe a 15 minute line) and I mentioned to him about the controller and I had it in hand within about 3 minutes. While I was waiting in line, DH went to Gamestop in the same parking lot and was first in line. So in summary: Target: 3 T-shirts at $3 each 2 boy pants at $6 each 2 kid's jackets $7 RC truck $12.50 2 Leapster games $10 each (after coupon in Parenting magazine) PS3 controller $39 700 tc queen sheet set $30 18V drill with Auto wrench $39.99 Queen air mattress $12 Men's hoodie $8.66 Gamestop: PS3 bundle $299 Wii MySims agents $19.99 Lowes: 2 storage containers 2/$5.98 4 poinsettas 99 cents each 47-piece home tool set $9.98 Sears Essentials (which is a hybrid that if K-mart merchandise is in stock honors the K-mart sales prices): metric and standard flex head ratchet set $29.99 each 4 boxes of pot of gold chocolates $3.99 each LPS Africa set $19.99 200 tc twin sheet set $7.99 So we got EVERYTHING on our list, every store had everything we were looking for, and we had to stop as we were out of money, LOL! We were at IHOP by 7:30. Our waittress couldn't believe we were done shopping. We got home by 8:30 and the kids were still asleep. We wrapped a few presents, looked over our goodies, and are currently decorating the house for Xmas! A GREAT BF!!
  9. Best Buy Sunrise, FL 6 p.m. About 25 people. No tents, just chairs and people.
  10. My stepson tells me TRU is open today. No sale for today, but he says they're open nonetheless, at least the Hialeah store where he works. The BF ad starts at midnight.
  11. FYI - The LPS tin was available in my Target this afternoon at the same price, $29.99. On my list is an RC truck, $5 pajamas, leapster games, PS3 controller, drill, Blu-rays, video games, assorted clothing, 700 tc sheet set. Maybe the I-tunes gift cards, but haven't decided yet.
  12. Well at least for the clothes, the way my kids are growing, I'm not really concerned...at this rate they won't get a chance to wear them long enough for it to matter! For the appliances, I have some cheapies like that in the camper. They work great for that limited use at least.
  13. Yes I'm dying for this ad! LOL I've been checking this site about 10 times a day just hoping...
  14. This week's ad, FYI. Also online, but you'd have to pay shipping. I've been waiting for the fortress to drop, so I'm happy!
  15. My Target's hours have been 8 am to 11 pm I believe since the end of August, so the holiday hours won't change anything for me. With them opening at 5 on BF though that throws a wrench in things, I don't know where we'll hit first.
  16. Well the OSHA citation means Wal-Mart failed to create a safe working environment. The incident happened on their property, which makes them liable. If somebody trespasses on my property and gets hurt, they can sue my homeowner's, even though they weren't invited. Here in the Miami area I avoid Wal-Mart like the plague. Went once, no control, the minute the doors open HUGE rush from the parking lot as people tried to cut in line, knocked my SIL down. I turned my shopping cart sideways, it was like a rock in a waterfall, everyone just broke around it, protecting her. BB has the ticket system, Target barricades, does a serpentine line here, has police and employees outside directing, it effectively thwarts the parking lot rush. While I agree it is ultimately the crowd that killed the worker, there is a certain group psychology at work that has existed for YEARS that other stores have worked to diffuse (namely BB and Target) that Wal-Mart seemed only to encourage. I find it amazing there haven't been more tragedies.
  17. OMG ANY chance of lower temperatures would be GREAT here in Miami! We're having our first "cold" snap (high of 70, low 58) today and tomorrow, then back to the 80s. It's been in the 90s up until now so far in October! That's nuts even for us. I would really enjoy wearing my sweaters a few extra times this season, so I will be hoping NOAA is right!
  18. Okay so I did #3, added it to my Facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/tara.villanueva1?ref=profile http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%253A%252F%252Fblackfriday.gottadeal.com&h=fc56120e02a9e7967686aed2ec592baf&ref=share Crossing my fingers!
  19. I've already started. I got the kids a few things on clearance and no place to hide them...so I HAD to wrap them. Got some wrapping paper down from the attic when I brought the Halloween stuff down. So they're sitting on the floor in my closet, of course the kids have already seen them and it drove them NUTS for about a week. But they seem to be over it now. Usually I wait until the week of Christmas but I kind of like having those wrapped presents out of the way...I just may wrap as I go this year.
  20. Cool! I've been wanting to go up there, now I'll have an excuse!
  21. I had problems too...for me, when I tried to apply it on the payment method page it wouldn't take...but when I did it on the checkout summary screen it applied it with no problem.
  22. I avoid Wal-Mart like the plague. I don't need anything THAT badly...(bad past experience) We generally start at Sears for DH's yearly tool infusion, we have one near us, we get there about 10 mins after opening, no one seems to go there so we get everything we want. Next we go to Target, get there right at or after the opening, a crowd but nothing crazy, we split up the list and run around fast. BUT this year we have Kohl's finally in our area so maybe that will be stop 2 this year. After that IHOP for breakfast and then maybe 1 more store, usually Toys R Us or Penneys or some other such. Anyway generally home by 10 a.m. and get about 90% of what's on our list.
  23. Two opened near me within the last year...the only thing I noticed were some "special grand opening deals" on various end caps, about 10 assorted items or so, scattered around the store. They were good deals, but not really WOW deals.
  24. My daughter loves hers, got it for Christmas. She hasn't had any problems.
  25. The only accessory we have is a dual docking/charging station. It came with rechargeable battery packs and that's where you charge them up. We were going through batteries so fast we had to do it. It's great! The charge seems to hold a VERY long time, since the kids are terrible at actually putting the remotes in the docking station but they've never run out of juice. We got ours at Walmart or Target for around $30. Also, I got my Wii in a bundle and it came with an extra remote and nunchuck, I can't imagine having at least 2 remotes. Hope that helps.
