  1. Same. I wanted to upgrade my daughter's line for her for Christmas and use the gift card towards my son a swing set. With the looks of it they aren't going to have it. They have the activation deals for upgrade/add a line for 50% off phone purchase which is about what the gift card would be. Although it's a good deal I decided to go ahead and upgrade her line on Verizon's website since they was doing $250 off a tablet. Got my daughter an iPad for $209. Better then nothing.
  2. Does anyone think they will do the gift card deal for phone upgrades? It looks like they are doing 50% off phone this year instead.
  3. I follow a freebie page and he posted up something similar. 3 events start on 11/3, 11/10, and 11/24.
  4. This is actually pretty neat. My sister in law would love this lol. I want one so bad. Might have to add it to the kids Christmas list for myself lol
  5. I'm hoping Walmart has the gift card deal going when you upgrade or add a line. Wanting to upgrade my daughter's iPhone for Christmas. Also deals on an iPad through Verizon for my youngest daughter. We are thinking of adding my son to our plan as well so deals on Samsung phones. Oldest daughter is wanting a laptop or all in one computer so deals on those. Looking for deals on 50cc dirt bike for my son. Hoverboard, clothes, shoes, and toys for my 4 year old son.
  6. What an awesome prize! My almost 9 year d would love this. Good luck everyone!
  7. My 11 year old wants this with an eReader for her reading time. It's pretty cool. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CDGMZ2K/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_XXY7C4V45BN7RHB7XHXY
  8. https://www.amazon.com/Kids-First-Science-Laboratory-Kit/dp/B00TF8ZQQ6?keywords=kids+first+science+laboratory+kit&qid=1540233697&s=Toys+%26+Games&sr=1-4&ref=sr_1_4 My 8 year old loves science. Not too many science kits out there for kids so I think this one would be amazing for younger aged children.
  9. Yes you can. I was told to take the ad with when you go to get your item off of layaway. Now whether you can price match on Black Friday or not I don't know. I have heard successful stories of people putting the items on layaway that is on the Black Friday ads and going on Black Friday to pick the items up and having them price match to the ad. Walmart will also price match themselves if something is on sale that is in your layaway. For example, I had my daughter the Elsa Musical dress on layaway for $34.97. I went to pick it up the other day and mentioned that it was on sale at Walmart for $28.88 and they gave me that price.
  10. Amazon has the LeapFrog LeapBands on sale for $29.99 right now. That is $10 cheaper than Walmart. They also have the Vtech Kidizoom smart watch for $49.99 which is $10 cheaper than Walmart. Also Amazon and Walmart has the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn chair for $28.49, originally priced at $39.99. Definitely getting my daughter the watch and getting my son the chair.
  11. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Thomas-The-Train-Toy-Set-with-Track-Kids-Toddler-Battery-Operated-Ride-On-Toys-/301364403231?pt=Electronic_Battery_Windup_Toys_US&hash=item462ab7dc1f For the kiddos 12-36 months that love Thomas the Train. We are wanting to get my son one since he is too short for his John Deere Tractor right now (he's my shorty mcshort shorts lol) but I believe it would be a great toy for any toddler.
  12. I got my daughter the Snow Glo Elsa Doll for $28.88 through Amazon (I got them to price match Walmart). I got her the Frozen musical Anna and Elsa dresses for $28.88 each as well (originally priced $34.97). I got her the Dodge Ram Ride on truck for $339.00 (originally priced $379). I got my son and daughter the JumpKing Mossy Oak Trampoline for $289.00 (originally priced $329). I also got him the Mater Ride on Toy for $84.97 (originally priced $99). I got him the Little People Discovery Disney set for $44.88 (originally priced $49.99). i got my daughter the Light Up Flutterby Rainbow Fairy for $28.99 (originally priced $39.99). I got my daughter a pair of Roper Cowgirl boots for $43 through Amazon (originally priced $79). I also got her the Frozen 16 inch bicycle for $63 through Toys R Us (originally priced $89.99 or higher). That's all I can think of right now. Hopefully will be able to get a good swingset, television, kitchen set, and tablets on Black Friday! My son is into John Deere and outside play toys (he turns 2 on December 5th) but haven't found any good deals on these yet so had to pay full price.
  13. Valdosta, Georgia and primarily at Walmart, Target, and Toys R Us since that is all we have.
  14. The only thing that I buy myself on Black Friday is a Starbucks coffee lol. I am a huge gift giver so I always find something to get the kids, my nephew, my husband, or my parents that isn't on my list for Black Friday. Last year I did buy one of those wax candle sets for the house but other than that I don't spend any on myself. This year, depending on sales and money, I might buy me the new iPhone 6 since I need a new phone. I usually can't see me spending money on myself during the holiday season. I feel selfish so I just put it back lol.
  15. I don't like it but only because I wish employees were able to stay home with their families (same goes for all those non-retail employees who have to work). My family always gets up at 5-6 a.m. Thanksgiving morning to start the turkey. My mom cooks through the night so all that is left to do is the turkey and dressing. We play bags and horse shoes until around noon (11:30-12) when the food is done. We eat, watch a new movie, and usually everyone takes a nap before the movie is even over. We all get back up and eat some more while laying around watching Christmas movies. Last year my husband and I left to go to Walmart for Black Friday around 3:00 that afternoon (the sales started at 6) so were able to spend plenty of time with family. If sale times move up even more than it might affect the afternoon nap but other than that I actually like it. I do wish that stores would start opening a little later though.
  16. 1. I think answers will vary depending on what people are wanting to buy. We buy a lot of toys and this year will be adding a television for our daughter's room and a couple tablets. I have been comparing past years ads and will say that Walmart will have the best one. 2. I am shopping on Thanksgiving and on the actual Black Friday. I know most stores last year did sales from Thursday-Saturday so if it is like that again than I will go ahead and add Saturday to the list. 3. Thanksgiving 4:00 p.m.
  17. I know the winner has already been announced but wanted to share my tips anyway. 1) Check account balance/count cash right before going into the store or before the actual sale starts. 2) Help others if you see someone struggling or needing help. Last year there was an older woman struggling to get a kids table and my husband stopped what he was doing to go help her out. He still ended up getting what we wanted plus more. This tip is more of a good deed but I would like to think if I needed the help someone would be there. 3) If you have to use a cart than have someone stand with one away from all the sales. Example: my husband and I always buy a whole cart full of toys for the kids on Black Friday. We have to use a cart or two (yes we load up lol). Last year he grabbed the kids table set, Lego table, and Vtech rocker and went straight to a buggy that was stashed near the sales. He stood across from the where the toys were at while I got all the toys, dropped them off at the buggy with him, and went back for more. 4) I learned this one last year from a woman I was standing in line with. She was price matching the Skylander toys and a couple of movies that Target was going to have on sale. She came an extra hour earlier than what her "normal" time of getting there would be. She went ahead and picked up all the price match items that were going on sale at other places that Walmart wasn't going to have so that she didn't have to go looking for them afterwards. 5) Watch out for sales leading up to Black Friday. Last year Walmart had items that other stores were going to have on Black Friday on sale the whole week before Thanksgiving. They were smaller items but it helped because I didn't have to worry about those on the actual day of. 6) Have fun and be safe! If you don't get the deal you wanted chances are you will be able to get it cheaper on Cyber Monday or a day leading up to Christmas.
  18. This will be my 4th year shopping on Black Friday. I am addicted to it and look forward to it every year.
  19. My number one pet peeve is people who bring their kids that are under dressed and who let them run wild. I live in Georgia so the weather isn't that cold compared to what some others experience but it is too cold for babies to be in a diaper. I don't get that upset seeing parents with kids as long as they are attentive to them. I have a 4 year old and 1 year old (turns 2 in December) so I know how it is to need those Black Friday deals but if at all possible leave those babies with a loved one. Number two pet peeve is lurkers who just want to get in my way. Either get the item and move on or don't be there at all. Last year there were a bunch of these people at Walmart. My last pet peeve are those who grab items just to carry them across the store and put down somewhere else. I have seen this happen every year and usually is a "prank" that teenagers do. They will literally stand in line for hot ticket items, walk around with the items, and take them somewhere else to hide them while having a good laugh.
  20. My husband and any friends that I can get to go with me. Usually it is just my husband and myself though.
