  1. I just got an e-mail and it looks like the tote this year is $25 which is $5 more than last year - BUT the spend to qualify is only $30 which is $10 less if I'm not mistaken?
  2. I'm pretty excited about this ad. I was hoping for a good deal on either a PS4 or XboxOne to upgrade my kids old ones...factoring in the Kohl's cash you're basically paying $175. Waiting to see what other deals are out there but this is looking pretty good. Also really debating on that 55" LG 4K TV...after Kohl's cash basically $350, that's going to be hard to pass up even though I didn't want to buy a TV before Christmas. Now getting even more excited for more big ads to be leaked!
  3. Hopefully Thanksgiving weekend - my daughter will be home from college that weekend so I'd like to put it up while she's there. This is her first year away, and I'd like her to still feel as included as possible. BUT, we get a real tree, and being that we'll be driving home to Indiana from my grandpa's in Michigan that Saturday - it will be interesting to see if it all works out the way it does in my head
  4. Wow...that's disappointing. I at *the least* would expect them to offer free shipping. And, didn't they have flash sales or daily sales or something like that last year? I wonder if that is not happening or if they for some reason are just waiting to announce that?? I've been increasingly disappointed with Walmart...but I'll reserve judgement until closer to BF and see what their ads look like. But, well, I do love a candy cane...
  5. I feel the same - it is just not as 'thrilling' for us anymore as it used to be. I think for us, it is a mix of stores being open on Thanksgiving (I absolutely will not give up Thanksgiving with my family), the kids getting older, AND stores making it so easy to shop online for the same deals you can get in the stores and free shipping (and sometimes it's even better because they don't have as limited quantities as the stores do). That being said, we do still go out every single Black Friday. It feels like we're breaking tradition if we don't, and it has always gotten me into the holiday mood to be out with the crowds of people and hearing the music, buying that first peppermint mocha from Starbucks, maybe even more so now that I'm not fighting for position or for the last hot toy. Plus, the one store I don't shop online for is Bath & Body Works because I do love that they let you stack as many coupons as you want...so we always make it a point to go there on BF.
  6. That doesn't sound creepy at all to me! When I was a kid I wanted to live in the mall...whenever we would go I would imagine I was the only one there locked in after dark (of course, I never knew they had the cages back then) and had the run of the place. I could sleep in whatever bed I wanted, pick any clothes I wanted, play barbies all night in the toy store with all the accessories I never had like the Barbie Dream House! Anything I needed was there! LOL
  7. Do you realize that the ad is watermarked with a competing BF ad site pretty clearly? I always gravitate to Gottadeal as I like the format better but it bothers me that the scan photos would be stolen material...
  8. Has anyone else had their sears purchases from BF, on their debit card not yet cleared out of their account? I heard a lot of Sears stores had issues with taking credit cards but mine was able to take them, however the charge has still not cleared (nor is it in the pending area) my checking account. It has never taken this long to clear a debit card purchase, and I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with their BF sears purchases?
  9. Hi there, I am looking for good suggestions on fictional Christmas books you might have read. I read a lot, and every November and December I like to read mainly books with a Christmas-theme to them. Romance, suspence, whatever, doesn't matter. Does anyone else like to read Christmas-themed books? Does anyone have any that they have read that they would recommend? Last year one of my favorites was a book called Blue Christmas about a shop owner in downtown Savannah. Also, if anyone has any craft/home-made gift books that they have used and especially like I would love suggestions for that, too. I am trying to make as many of the gifts as I can this year, but sometimes it seems like it's always the same old recycled ideas. Thanks for any suggestions!! It's almost November and I for one and so excited about it! Mom
  10. I definately think for a younger person the solid purple are more stylish. I personally like them both, but also - the solid will go with a lot more items. She could add black or white solid pieces, she could add silver accent pieces like chargers, etc. and also even a few patterned pieces without having to worry about them clashing with the pattern of her plates.
  11. Typically after BF shopping, we stop for breakfast or lunch somewhere - depending on what time it is! We typically aren't at the homefront for Thanksgiving, so we typically then go back to the relatives' houses and then just relax. This year though, we will be going back to the in-laws and then helping to decorate for a wedding reception as a cousin is getting married the Saturday after Thanksgiving. That should be fun...or tiring...or something...
  12. It is fair of course, if they got there first - but that doesn't take away the frustration and dissapointment it can be when you actually WANT something and you know someone is only there to get it before you and make a quick buck. She didn't say it wasn't fair, she just said it sucked, and it does. I was in line forever for concert tickets earlier this year, and was fairly lucky to get a lottery ticket that placed me in the top 10 people in line - but 3 of the people before me held up the line buying the limit for EACH of 3 performers, one cc transaction for each one, therefore each holding up the line for 10 minutes or so (it was a state fair, all the acts went on sale at the same time). And of course they were selling them on Ebay, it was a no-brainer. I got tickets, but the seats sucked and my daughter was SO dissapointed.
  13. What a joker - he/she was making fun of the people wanting to get in line early, saying cabbage patch kids were "so 80's".
  14. Yes but when you can have Brad Paisley calling to remind you it's time for bed - ahem! Hello?? I am signing up just to have that play on my voicemail!! Mariah
  15. Kohl's also has a friends and family weekend, November 5, 6, and 7. It's 15% off regular, sale and clearance merchandice, and you can keep the card and come back as much as you want. Kohl's really pushes their associates to hand these out, so if you know someone who works there ask them for one- they can easily get them for you. If they have passed out all theirs, tell them to ask for more - the managers are more than happy to give them more :) Mariah
