  1. We wrap Christmas Eve after the kiddos are sound asleep. It's a late night, but my husband and I love staying up late watching a Christmas movie with all the wrapping supplies in the middle of the living room. Of course, we can't forget the hot chocolate. So far, none of the kids have ever awakened and caught us. This year we had to do it a little different though because we are spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at Grandmas so we did it all a day earlier and stored it all in the trunk. (and anywhere else we could find a spot). Everything was put in boxes so the kids couldn't see them. We will put them under Grandma's tree after they go to bed. We didn't forget the stockings either!
  2. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful holiday.
  3. I think that is a great idea. I know my husband would love that.
  4. We always travel to my parents house to go to Christmas Eve candlelight services. It is neat to be all together. My sister and brother and their families go to. That is the only time we all get together for church. Growing up we went every week. My husband and I try to go every week, but we do miss a few here and there.
  5. I have just a couple more gifts for the nieces and nephews and then I'm done. I just picked up my husbands gift this AM. Tickets to the Chiefs game on New Year's Day!!
  6. Last week I got 5 12pks for 10.00 at K-Mart in North Kansas City. Not sure if it is still that way. It was for Pepsi products.
  7. I didn't really find it very funny either, but thanks for posting anyway.
  8. We did the baby food too. Also teething rings, sippy cups (you can never have to many), bath products are a good idea too.
  9. Way to much! Usually my dh and I will wrap on Christmas Eve after the kids go to bed. It's a lot of work, but we love staying up late being "Santa". This year though, we are going to be at Grandma's and "Santa" will be delivering our presents there this year, so we will have to get them wrapped before we leave. Not much room at Grandma's to hide and wrap!
  10. I also do this frequently. With three little ones, you never know what may come up.
  11. I have to agree. We have also had several products that are not that great.
  12. I have a bar that separates the living room and dinning room. I display the card there.
  13. I'm not sure about the scene it games, but we love the Cranium games. They are great for all ages. Also, the old standbys are good too. Monopoly, Clue, Sorry, Trouble. We like all those games. My 6 year old loves Operation.
  14. I just saw on the local news that there is a local house that after 5 weeks of decorating, he has lights and decorations everywhere. The lights are set to several Christmas carols and blink with the music. The music is played over loud speakers or you can actually tune it in on your radio while you watch the lights.
  15. I also got sucked in this weekend with their ads. The only deal I got was five 12 packs of pop for 10.00
  16. Sweet! Thanks so much. My daughter will appreciate it.
  17. Haven't seen the advertisement, but I will still continue to shop Wal Mart. I find the best deals there and I'm on a tight budget.
  18. My daughter wanted Amazing Amanda too. After a lot of thought, I have decided that it just isn't worth spending so much money on one doll for a 6 year old. By next year, it will probably have a "new haircut" and "makeup" (aka scissors and markers).
  19. I used to work in a nursing home and the residents LOVED this. We had several hairstylists that would come in and do haircuts, styles, manicures, etc. It was great and the residents felt wonderful afterward.
  20. That is exactly why I put up my decorations the Sunday BEFORE Thanksgiving. And everyone was laughing at me then.
  21. My Walmart actually announced at exactly 5:03 AM that all laptops and gameboys had been sold out. Didn't take very long!
  22. I love Timepiece and The Christmas Box. I watch them every year. I noticed that they were on this weekend on the Hallmark Channel.
  23. You are exactly right. They know what they are doing.
  24. I am glad that your W/M was helpful. I agree about these ridiculous games. It was exactly like they wanted to watch their cutomers run around the store and literally fight for the products. I felt like they even made it more likely that some one would get hurt instead of preventing it. I was very upset! I ended up going to TRU and K-mart.
