  1. Yum, cherry squares!!! Can you post the recipe for that one? Thank you!
  2. Target goes 50% the day after and 75% 4 days after which would be Saturday!!! 90% on New Years Day. But, by then, nothing good left. Merry Christmas to All!!!!!!!!
  3. The coconut caked sounded so yummy to me that I want to make it now. I googled it and found quite a few recipes for the butter cake. Finally, after searching through quite a few websites, I found an answer for the coconut cake. Someone made it and added 1 CUP of coconut to the cream cheese layer and said it was outstanding. Also, last Christmas my mom made Paula's "Not Yo Momma's Banana Pudding." It was out of this world. We cut the recipe in half and it was still enough for 8 people (with other desserts too) and made it in a 8x8 pan. Also, the Pepperidge Farm Chessman cookies are really expensive. Vanilla wafers worked well. I found they were a bit soggy on the bottom, but retained a bit of their crispness on the top. The next time I would make it, I wouldn't use any on the bottom, just on top. Not Yo' Mama's Banana Pudding Ingredients: 2 bags Pepperidge Farm Chessmen cookies 6-8 bananas, sliced 2 cup milk 1 5-ounce box instant French vanilla pudding 1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened 1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk 1 12-ounce container frozen whipped topping thawed, or equal amount sweetened whip Directions: Line the bottom of a 13x9x2-inch dish with 1 bag of cookies and layer bananas on top. In a bowl, combine the milk and pudding mix and blend well using a handheld electric mixer. Using another bowl, combine the cream cheese and condensed milk together and mix until smooth. Fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture. Add the cream cheese mixture to the pudding mixture and stir until well blended. Pour the mixture over the cookies and bananas and cover with the remaining cookies. Refrigerate until ready to serve. ENJOY AND MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!
  4. Jalaine, great idea! I'm going to do that for a gc I got for my husband. It'll be funny when he opens the box and all he sees is paper! Thank you:)
  5. Please be careful using a marshmallow shooter. They really are choking hazards. I heard about a 5 year old that inhaled a marshmallow and it became lodged in his throat. Children should be monitored and adults aware that improper use of the marshmallow shooters can be dangerous.
  6. Thank you - just got 4 $10 g.c. for $4.60 (I think!) to one of our favorite restaurants.
  7. Any chance of passing along the free codes for the calendar? THANK YOU!!!
  8. I saw boxes of the little individual serving size Pumpkin Pie creamers at Sam's Club this past weekend. You can keep those for a long time without refrigerating them - so they can last all winter.
  9. The following website has "boo" plans. I'm going to do it tomorrow to a couple of friends. http://www.goblinville.com/pages/boo.htm
  10. I wish I had that many to prepare for. I love to cook and entertain. Unfortunately, I have only 9 people coming this year. But, since I just had back surgery, that number works well. You will probably need 2 15-20 lb turkeys. The rule of thumb is 1 lb per person. This would allow you plenty of leftovers. Remember oven space too! Unless you have 2 ovens, you'll have to use crockpots, electric roasters, etc. Try to do a lot beforehand so you're not stressing that day. Have your husband do the cleaning. That'll be one less thing to worry about:D Don't feel bad about assigning items for people to bring. Nowadays, everyone should pitch in! Have someone bring the ingredients for punch to serve 40 people generously. Good recipe websites are: thatsmyhome.com recipezaar.com razzledazzlerecipes.com
  11. Thank you! I purchased a package this morning at Meijer's for $2.99 and it had the coupon for a FREE year of Star Magazine on it.
  12. 75% off of patio stuff in Sterling Heights MI store (16/Dequindre). Dr Pepper - 3 for $9 (print $1 off coupon from http://coupons.50webs.org) Free 2 ltr pop with purchase of 2 ltr pop (coupon from http://coupons.50webs.org)
  13. The store in Troy MI doesn't haven't any good sales yet. Only 10-33% off certain items. I'll be sorry to see them go. They had the best donuts:D
  14. They came out and gave me a quote and it was EXPENSIVE compared to the carpet stores I shopped at AND the quality didn't seem good. They didn't have a big selection either. Also, they added about 8 yards to what I really needed. So, if I would have gone with them, I would have paid a lot more than I should have. I wouldn't use them or recommend them.
  15. I can't find anything of the web that says it's coming up. Everything I googled refers to the March 15, 2006 Free Coffee Day. Also, Starbuck's latest press release says nothing about it. ???
  16. I have the Animal and it works well. Except, it's not the greatest on corners. I got it for about $360 two years ago. That was about $150-$200 off the regular price because my b-i-l's store gave ee's a special deal. If I had to spend $500 on it, I think it would be too much.
  17. Went on Friday and got a ton of Martha Stewart candles for .99 cents. Unfortunately, they don't smell a lot, but for the price, you can't beat it. They're large and the glasses are pretty. Also got some turtlenecks for .99 cents and men's sock sets with multi-use knives, radio and stopwatches for $1.49. They had a few of the BIG blow up snow globes for $19.99. Great price, if you have the storage room.
  18. My Kroger (Sterling Heights MI) went 75% last Thursday. I was so bummed on Friday when I got there and everything was picked over.
  19. Target employees told me TOMORROW Christmas stuff will go 75% off.
  20. I just called Target in Sterling Heights MI and they said "MAYBE" tomorrow Christmas stuff will go 75%. You gotta believe I'll be there at 7:45 a.m.
  21. My boys got this from Santa yesterday and really had a blast. It was great watching my 79 year old father in law belting out "Hound Dog" from the Elvis CD. The only bad thing is the video behind some of the songs - truly inappropriate for young children to watch. I am going to contact IkTV about this issue too. Let me know if anyone else thought the same. I also picked up a lot of CD's from the library, but none of them showed the words. Have a healthy and happy new year!
  22. My 10 year old has been making crafts for grandparents and godparents since he was about 5. Last year he made a birdfeeder (with the help of his Dad)/ This year, he is making beaded book thongs. Very easy to do - 15 inches of tiger tail wire with various beads and a charm at one end.
  23. On Christas Eve, we celebrate a polish tradition tradition called "Wigilia," pronounced Vigilia. Before dinner, everyone receives a portion of an Oplatek (it's like a communion wafter) and wishes each other happiness in the upcoming year. The dinner consists of mushroom soup, fish, homemade pierogi, cucumbers and cream, vegetable and dessert. This year my in-laws are coming in from Arizona and we'll celebrate Christmas dinner with a pork loin, chicken, and many, many side dishes. I start planning my menu in early December and tweak it daily. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All!!!!!
